I have the original M1 and I like that new tow bar. So I chatted with Max on the website and he hopes the retrofit kit will come out within the month. I hope it will be a reasonable price.
That’s awesome that you reached out about that. I also have the original and the fact that it sucked for backward sled really was a deal breaker. Mine is currently collecting dust but if they come out with a retro kit I’d definitely buy
Amusingly, this inspired me to try using my dumbbells to weigh down the front -- no mount or anything -- it works well and is surprisingly stable! Not sure why I hadn't tried this before, but I may not even need the accessories 😆
We made a DIY sled. An old tire with a box made of scrap wood bolted to the tire. I got a strap from Rogue. With weight in the box, it’s a great sled to drag and nice and quiet. I get a workout and the neighbors are entertained. 😉
@@royalrandomness777 I use it on my driveway. It leaves no marks on the asphalt, but I discovered that if anything is on the driveway like leaves, rain or pine needles, it totally changes how the sled drags - the friction is less and I have to add more weight. I would think using on grass would be a different experience altogether, much more challenging than the smoother surface of a driveway. Give it a try! If you already have the weights, the most expensive thing to get would be the strap. 🙂
Really want to get into sled work, but don't live in a place that anything can really reasonably be done outside. Would love to see reviews of various high resistance treadmills like HiitMill and SledMill. Glad they fixed the pull option. I'd get this in a heartbeat if there was a space to use it
I have the Tank M1. It works perfectly well. I train at 4am and it doesn’t bother my neighbors at all. Easy to get in and out of the shed and get started. The only downside is not being able to use it in all weather conditions.
I'm getting mine Thursday! I skipped the dumbbell handles because I only have Ironmasters and didn't think they would fit but with the threaded holes I'm sure I can rig up something to weigh down the front
Really happy with my Torque M1…. Gave the old Rogue Dogsled to a friend. Just wish there were more increments to the resistance…. Instead of 1, 2, and 3 have 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5. All i used both sleds on were the pavement and no doubt the dogsled loaded up gave more resistance. Backwards movements with the M1 I find setting 2 a bit too easy and 3 too hard especially when getting warmed up. Setting 1 is too easy for kids even, just has a use for arm movements. One thing I havent heard mentioned that is so great about the M1 is the straps that comes with it has 2 handles but it’s fixed in the middle unlike Rogue’s strap without handles. With the M1 you are never trying to reset and find the middle of the strap to pull evenly with both arms. PLUS you have the option to just use one handle for sideways/ carioca type movements and drape the handle not in use on the weight plate. It’s worth just purchasing the handles from Torque to use on any competing sled if you’re using it for stuff other than pure pushing.
Another great video. Still hoping you do a video on MAG attachments vs the knock offs. Even just different categories of cable attachments with the ares and Athena gaining in popularity
I have the original M1. It loses resistance from the front tire on every surface except concrete or asphalt. This is NOT an off road sled as advertised. The only way to keep the front tire from losing resistance is adding a bunch of weight. I'll have to purchase the dumbell attachment so i can use this on gravel, grass or dirt. Forget trying to pull this sled unless you add a bunch of weight or the magnetic resistance system will constantly fail.
Don't like the app idea Coop. Would add costs to the product owing to the need to have app developers and who the heck wants to have to pay yet another subscription fee. The C2 rower is an all time classic in part because of their minimalistic user interface.
I have the prior iteration. Biggest thing it lacked was a monitor. The retrofit kit is not available as of yet and price unknown. Your idea of using an app and having your phone as the monitor is a good one. Would still need sone hardware to gather and transmit hardware but should be less expensive and, as you point out, more upgradeable.
it would be interesting to know the dimensions of the rectangle area surrounding the plate post. I could see a good hack being going to walmart, getting a cheap rectangle bin, cutting a hole in the bottom, then putting it over the post so that it sits in that area (without rotating). Then you could easily put some sandbags or similar into that bin area.
Yes! They sell a large rectangular basket for the M4, so a small square basket for the M1 seems like a great option for either adding weight (as you suggest) and/or as a convenient place to store the rope, v-strap, and/or harness while using the other end.
I have a budget of around $2000 that I have working to save up in order to build my home gym. I haven’t been able to bench in years and I am looking forward to it. Yours videos have been a great help.

@@richardj6593 Can you share or post a video of today's version of the Tank M1 "at speed" with no DB's or plates, and the single wheel end not rising off the ground? At 7:10 here we see it with a plate and max weight DB's but in slow mo. After searching the vendor's website and youtube.com four months ago, I was not able to find a video that provided confirmation of what you say.

Really the 2 features that matter is the tow bar and dumbbells addons. Which is annoying. Why not just make the tow bar heavier, and/or detachable. Then you can and also weight to keep the front wheel down… without needing to buy dumbbells. Or maybe I can add hanging weight some other way. Although 20lb dumbbells are cheap, it’s still another buy. Rather buy a heavier tow hook. Now I need to see someone test with the dumbbells and see if that is enough weight to keep the wheel from lifting
Just still disappointed that it doesn't appear there is an easier way to change the inflatable tube inside the front tire with the v2.0. That issue alone would've pushed me to the next tank up since they have much easier access to all inflatable tubes.
I have the original, and I like it, but the last couple of times I used it something broke inside the front wheel assembly. When I try to use the level 3 resistance it constantly clicks and the resistance seems to come and go and that level seems pretty much useless now. It's been over a year since I bought it, so I doubt they'd do anything to fix it, so I just really doubt its durability.
So do the dumbbell cradles and extended toe bar completely eliminate the front wheel from skidding when reverse sledding at speed? The video only shows slow reverse sled.

It is too expensive. I can buy a new metal platform cart, like the ones you use at home depot to carry heavy solid concrete blocks and which can do the same thing, for less than 1/3rd of the price.
With a little diy grab a used larger width tire from your local tire shop they'll give it to you free. I put a U bracket on it with a tow strap.
