I’ve had a recent resurgence of appreciation for the movie Megatron design as well, and I’ve got so much nostalgia for that pre-earth Animated megs. There’s just something about how the 2007 Megatrons keep the gravitas even if the design isn’t 1-to-1, the vampire cape and the ice really makes this guy feel like the spark-eating force of nature from all the bios and tie-in stuff my kid brain ate up.
tbh if the altmode was a bit more cohesive this would probably be one of the greats, i really wish that winged look was what they used in the actual film

I own none of these original movie figures or the rotf figures but I have so much nostalgia for them. Just by watching toy reviews of them when I was like 5.
I came across this figure in the trash during a clean up and had no idea of it's name. Sadly the blaster is missing but I'm glad to see what the transformation could've been.
I actually had the ROTF version of this guy, it came in a 3 pack with soundwave and the fallen. The fallen fell to bits almost immediately when I got it, but the soundwave and Megatron were super cool because they were repainted into their G1 colors, giving soundwave a way cooler blue color, and this megatron some sick red eyes! (...painted over clear white ones, but hey, can't win 'em all!)
i'm relieved you have the fans hobby repugnus. i don't know why i was worried about that, but i was beginning to feel like i might have to send you mine. He's a very fun lad.
I have such a soft spot for movie toys, the '07 movie got me out of my childhood 'i'm too old for toys' phase and I dove right into transformers to never look back. I have the 07 leader class megatron, he's wild, has a yellow light effect and some pink wings, insane wonderful stuff.
Man I forgot he had the arctic ice on him for this voyager. It's super super pretty, and as per usual your review is absolutely hilarious, its wonderful! Great work!
Aw yeah! I remember having him back in the day the feet would always annoy me when younger, but I loved the whole ice aesthetic overall! I really liked the old 2007 movie figures, they were not all that accurate but tried and turned out to be really fun figures!
Honestly, I can 100% roll with Cybertronian altmodes most of the time, but Megatron feels like a bit of a step too far for me. I think it's okay as long as I could look at it in something like Star Wars and go "yeah, it's cool", but in Megatron's case, you turn it any direction other than straight-on and oh, there's his legs and his arms. The Studio Series version of this design kinda pulls it together by positioning them closer to the body and bunching them up, so they look more like rocket boosters or weapons platforms or something. Also, if you want another character that does the whole "spring-loaded feet" thing but does it better, I'd recommend ROTF Skystalker.

Lol I think you might be the only person I've seen that actually speaks fondly of this mold. Must agree though, that color pallet and the ice theme was actually quite well done and was a clever idea in my opinion
I wasn't collecting Transformers when the movies started cos I was too cool and edgy for all these quick changing gimmick figures and the like. I wanted Alternators and Masterpieces. Thank flip I grew out of that. Anyway, I purchased DotM Megatron off that Thew guy and he chucked in a movie Starscream too and both are kinda great. Mostly I'm just impressed at how they transform into things that don't look a state and also still look like the movie guys in robot mode. That is a big pile of overly aggressive metal that wants to hurt me. Given me a bit of interest in trying some other movie ones out now.
