For Morris being on the player level & such a "great straight forward communicator" why'd he elect to throw the buzzards a free meal by drafting a QB with their 1st pick after just breaking the bank & NFL tampering regulations to sign a $180M QB? Why knowingly invite that distraction into your building even before Kirk has taken a single snap as a Falcons QB? Most teams (who annually draft in the top 10) don't play with their 1st pick like it's a luxury to add depth at a single position as opposed to filling holes with the best player available to take that next step instead of looking three or four steps down the road. If I'm Kirk, I'm wondering was I supposed to use that $180M to go out & sign my own protection & acquire my own weapons? Think of all the QBs who aren't half as good as Cousins & how happy they are today that their teams believed in them enough to help them instead of drafting my predecessor & expecting me to produce while I do some on the job training of my replacement. What? WHY?

Ridder threw 12 interceptions and had 12 fumbles. Drafting a defensive player doesn’t solve the offensive issue. Plus you guys commenting didn’t even watch the Falcons last year. Y’all sound like media parrots. Kirk is a great QB who is productive with great offensive talent. He wins games and focuses on ball security. If you don’t draft a top level QB, you’re stuck shopping in Free Agency with the same QBs. Plus we still had Taylor Heineken on the roster so you telling me he’s a great QB option? Plus signing Kirk Cousins and him getting us a good record in the NFC can also take us out of contention of getting a high draft pick to get a future QB. We really got lucky to grab Penix. Ridder played so bad to get us the 9th pick!!! He had 12 interceptions and 12 fumbles.
Anyone who actually watched the Falcons know how bad the QB play was. As an organization there’s no need to put yourself in position to draft a QB when you’re in a dire position bc it’s too late. Packers are a great organization the QB room had a nice transition. This is why people can keep picking them but bucs will continue to win cuz they are the better drafting team in the NFC South. Falcons being the falcons

Atlanta Falcons decions at QB since 2018:
    - May 2018, Sign Matt Ryan at age 33 to a new 5 year deal, $100mil guaranteed (he never has another season at or above .500 or another Pro Bowl selection)
    - Mar 2022, Trade Matt Ryan with 2 years remaining on his contract for a 3rd round pick, Sign Marcus Mariota, Pursue trade for, but fail to acquire, Deshaun Watson
    - Apr 2022, Draft Desmond Ridder in the 3rd round
    - Feb 2023, Release Marcus Mariota
    - Mar 2023, Do not pursue Lamar Jackson trade, Sign Taylor Heinicke
    - Mar 2024, Sign Kirk Cousins at age 35, coming off a torn Achilles, to a 4 year contract for $180mil, $100mil guaranteed, Trade Desmond Ridder
    - Apr 2024, Draft soon to be 24 year old Michael Penix Jr., who has torn his ACL twice and has had multiple serious shoulder injuries, with the 8th pick overall.
    Wow.

Best comment/ history lesson in the entire thread. The facts don't lie. Thanks for doing your homework. Atlanta IS what Detroit WAS!

The Seahawks should have got Michael penix Jr and the Seahawks should trade with the falcons and get Penix to the Northwest

You can't tell me your favorite Kathy Griffin joke. And the left absolutely defended her. Just Hillary couldn't condone it publicly.

Here’s the vibe. 35yo, injured, career mediocrity. Cousins is not a franchise QB he is a place holder. He should know his role. He got way overpaid to play it.

Penix going Top10 and before JJ not a surprise, in reality Minny & LV were trying to trade up for Penix after Wash took Jayden. Raider fan but I thought Atl should’ve taken Odunze
