Sounds like If Kanye and drake met Taylor swift right after she got broken up with the whole while her toast was burning and her right toe was itching while her dog was barking in a tune almost like last Christmas and the neighbors kids were screaming and playing on a trampoline. Anyway a solid track I would give it a solid 4/10
Quadeca's next album is gonna sound like if Bon Iver, Kendrick Lamar, Bob Dylan, Lil Yachty, and Tekashi 6ix9ine attended Drake and 21 Savage's wedding officiated by Travis Scott with Baby Keem playing the organ in the background.
music should be compared to other music when analyzed AND reviewed, no rating comes out of a vacuum because all ratings and assessing quality is, is treating records in a relative manner. everyone has a set of values they treat art by and its more than fair to go: "this album is a 5 because I rated this other album a 6 and it does the same ideas better "
@@honse6794 every music is derivative of other artists, but it depends on what new song ideas and topics are brought into the songs that make them unique. Its also important how they apply or where the apply their ideas as that can make or break a song and if they dont bring anything new sonically or lyrically, then it sounds generic. Derivative is also used in a disapproving way, so i agree with what op's opinion. Thankfully, quadeca's new album was amazing.
@@honse6794 there's a difference between just being derivative and taking inspiration. His album of the decade was literally a rap album. There were 3 rap albums in his top 10 best albums of the decade list. He also gave both, the forever story by jid and god dont make mistakes by conway a 9. So he does enjoy rap.(he also mentioned in one of his vids that he thinks that madvillany, 36 chambers and illmatic are all 10s)
@@woopoganntnt7379he finally gave Mac Miller an 8 😂 That's more than enough for me, cause which white rapper deserves an 8 or 9? Tell me one great white rapper from this generation that deserves a rating higher than a 7
The problem with being a music reviewer or even a music connoisseur, you'll eventually know and learn too many people's music & styles to where everything sounds like something and nothing will sound original to you. So that’s his problem. He can’t simply just enjoy an artist. He has to find comparisons in EVERY artist for his job so he’ll never actually enjoy songs without that being in the back of his mind.

Sounds like a Pitchfork review
This whole album feels like if you got 100 unique artists and collectively got different elements of each to produce small snippets of a track-
Almost like he’s a unique artist who wears his inspiration on his sleeves

Bruh it’s not a comparison. It’s a review of the music, doesn’t have to say it’s similar to another artist every 2 seconds
