- GoPro has made it easy to get the feel of what it is like to sit in the chair of a musical theater percussionist. I recorded this during a live performance of King Kong on Broadway at the Broadway Theatre in New York City.
This was an incredibly satisfying percussion book to perform. King Kong is definitely the most involved timpani book I have ever played in a 30 year career in musical theater. Chris Jahnke, orchestrator, created a fantastic timpani part that needed every bit of those 4 drums. Warren Odze is rocking the drum book.
I offer a performance clinic (A Glimpse Into the World of a Broadway Musician) that takes you from the moment your hired for a Broadway show to the very first performance. Visit daveroth.com to learn more about it. - Видеоклипы
And this is why we need a Soundtrack, the great score, singers and band players.
I am Gary Fagin's Timpanist/Principal Percussionist in the Bucks County Symphony, and he mentioned that he uses you in his Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra. Major props on how beautifully you executed this score!! Timp consistency and intonation is really accurate.
Love Gary! Thank you for the kind comments. My best to you and BC Symphony!

What is your favorite musical and song to play
Great work! How did you mount the bass drum? Looks so convenient to play. Very efficient!
Hey Chris. It is on a keyboard stand.
How did you ever get a sub? how did they prepare for this?
Very carefully. My subs knocked it out of the park. PROS!!!
Million Dollar hands! You have insurance?
Lol! I can't afford the insurance.
