I have a stack of random plates from my grannie who would have been 106. We just buried my other 97 year old grandmother last week - those items are priceless
When l got married my mother gave me a whole set of those dishes, they were my grandmother's who had passed.I still have them and my daughter keeps eyeing them.😊❤
As others have noted, do not use the spring loaded plate hangers with the hooks that go over the edge of the plate. They can damage your precious heirlooms. You can buy wall mounted easels. They are simple metal holders that your plates can sit in. Secure them to your wall with screws. Amazon has them. I forget the name of the maker and pattern of your dishes. They are fairly common and not worth much as collectibles but they are priceless heirlooms for your family. What a treasure!
Yummy! That looks delicious! You can buy the metal plate hangers. They hold them pretty secure. Be sure and buy the hooks that has the nail attached to put in the wall to hang the plate hangers on. I would not want them to be hung on regular nails. They would look good on the side of your hood vent.
You could try putting those plates in the shadow box frames and securing those to the wall that might keep them safe. But it is kind of cool how you found one from Justin's side of the family and one from your side those are wonderful heirlooms
Very cool about the dishes. That sausage & cabbage bake sounds delish! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I recently found your channel and have really enjoyed watching your content. ❤ I’m in south Montgomery county.
What a great story!!!! Oh I am such a "nerd" for history😊. I love that the one was outside for 40 years and still looks so beautiful like it was just waiting for someone to remember and come get it. Oh the stories it could tell is right. So fascinating. My initial thought was a shadow box for them. You could even take a picture with your mom holding the plate she gave you and a picture of you and Justin's mom holding the plate she gave you and then a letter from you writing out the story of how you got each plate and put them in the shadow box with the plates. It would be a great little bit of family history. Thank you for sharing this! I love to to see "old" treasures like that and the story makes it even more special! Lots of love ❤ from Nicole in Indiana
Hey there Tiffany! I love old dishes, and well, all kinds of old fashioned things! We are "soul sisters "!❤😊 My thought was what about a nice shadow box? There's lots of different kinds on Amazon. Then you could hang them on the wall and they wouldn't fall off. Also Etsy has some lovely plate holders that have a front bar to keep the plates from tipping off. And on RUclips there's a selection of videos explaining how to securely attach just the plates, or the holder very securely to your wall. I've used some of the suggestions, such as adding command strips for extra security along with nails. Hope this gives you some good direction to help you decide which will work best for your home. Blessings to you and your family!
What a wonderful story and how it all worked out!! I love the plates also they are Beautiful! Tiffany you have lost a lot of weight and you look great! How are you doing it? Thanks Love your videos!❤
Tuscaloosa here & I keep my word. Red hot cucumbers . 1: 1 gallon of sliced , peeled and seeded . Sliced 1/2 thick. 2: mix 1 cup of lime & enough to completely cover and let stand for 24 hours 3: wash & let stand in clear water for 3 hrs covered. 4: mix 1/2 cup of vinegar & 1/2 bottle of red food coloring 5: mix in 1-1/2 tee spoons of alum 6: enough water to completely cover. Bring to a boil then add the cucumbers & let stand for 2 hours covered 7: prepare 2 cups water, 2 cups vinegar,5 cups of sugar , 4 cinnamon sticks. And then add 2 large bags of red hots(candy). It is best to use the small square ones that are very strong but the other red cinnamon candies will work too. 8:heat the red hot candy mixture until melted 9: drain the food coloring from the cucumbers & then place them in the red hot candy mixture & then add the other half of the red food coloring bottle into the mixture. 10. Let stand overnight covered 11. The following morning bring to a boil & put into jars & seal. 12. They will look like bright red onion rings lol. Enjoy
I don't know how to link my suggestion for hanging the plates, but if you search DISC adhesive plate hanger you will find what I have used many times to hang plates. I have never had one fall when using this disc, but of course you will have to decide if you want to try it or not. 🙂 The recipe sounds delicious!
That's absolutely incredible about those plates! I mean when you really think about it!! Both sides of your family have the same kind of plate...and one was outside for 40 years!! And...you get the other one within days...come on, it was meant to be ! You were supposed to have them! I'd be so nervous too...I'd want to display them...but it has to be very secure. I just don't know where you should put them. Should almost build something especially for them...do you have a hutch? Maybe put them in there? I don't know, I just think they're beautiful !
Im first. .. Hi Tiffany love watching your videos....❤ watching from southern Arkansas hot springs city .....❤ Mary.... pretty plates Tiffany. Love hearing kids saying bye yall cute ❤
I have those same type dishes but dinner plates...only 3 & I have some cups. I keep them in my dish cabinet & crazy thing, I had bought a 3 tier Hors d'oeuvre stand that was missing the plates. So I use those on that stand for special occasions. I'd love to have a complete set, they are so beautiful
I'm new to your channel and I enjoy your content. I made your recipe tonight using cheddar jalapeno sausage and it was terrific. We have been making the same old cabbage, hamburger and tomato recipe so long I really needed a change up. It was delicious. God bless
I actually have a couple of plates like one of those!! I love old dishes. When I buy them we actually use them. Most times mix and matched. I have so many dishes and I just rotate them out. Love that story!!! How special!!
Tiffany, your story gave me chills! That is just so sweet & special! You’ll have to let us know once you figure out how to display them. I would love to see!
The plates are absolutely beautiful, had you thought of putting the in box frames, I think that's what they are called. They look like normal frames, but have a Inch or so depth between the back and glass. They are used to display dried flowers and precious item's. I'd cut polystyrene to fit frame, then carve out the size and shape of the plate, put it all together and you'll have two protected treasures. Great dinner recipe. Have a wonderful and blessed week 💞
I got a whole set of that very pattern, back in 1980 for Christmas from my parents. i had been moving around so much back then that they all eventually got broken, I wished still had them. Now I want a set of the pink ones. I am 69, so I don't see that happening .
I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one with cast iron in the oven. I love the dishes. They are like the things that catch my eye in thrift stores. You might try to find some kind of a clear, inclosed container to put them in and hang them. They may not be as likely to fall or come out of a regular plate hanger.
I have a few of those plates and looking for some more of them, I like using them in the spring for decorating. I have a few of my old plates hanging on the wall with the metal hangers and haven’t had a problem with them, but I think yours would be so pretty display above your refrigerator. I love seeing and hearing your sweet babies in the video. Take care and May God bless you and your sweet family. Watching from North Florida!
How special those plates are. I don't think I would put them over the stove because they could possibly get grease popping on them. Over the refrigerator would be better for sure.
Such a sweet story. I have three smaller plates that were my grandmothers that I received when she passed. I've had them for about 43 years and they hung in her living room my entire childhood. I don't know how many years she had them bfor that. I love them. I have no one to pass them on to. We are all older now. It's sad but her great and great greats don't want them because they didn't know her. It's just sad. I loved your story and I Ty for sharing. I'm new to your channel and I'm really enjoying it.
I agree with you. Using plate hangers on the wall to display plates can be very risky! The plates might fall out of "open shelving". I saw a comment here about a shadow box. That sounds like a good idea! 😊
The sausage and cabbage looks so delicious! Also love the story with your dishes...they were meant for you! Watching from Northeast MO...Love your channel so much!
Thanks for the recipe. We have a couple Potlucks coming up in a few weeks. I will definitely make this. We can get Conecuh sausage locally. As for the plates, I have a set that my long departed Aunt Jean gave me 40 years ago. I have had them on plate hooks for years with no problem. They are the kind with 4 prongs so there are 2 at the top of each plate & 2 at the bottom. Your plates are lovely. Oh, and I love hearing your "littles" playing in the background and helping you in the kitchen.
Here's my Grandma's favorite cabbage recipe: One head of cabbage chopped, put in skillet with 1 package of sliced sausage, 3-4 medium potatoes peeled and diced, salt, pepper and onion powder and enough water to cover. Cover skillet with lid and simmer on low heat about 30 minutes until potatoes are tender. Feeds 4-6 people. (You can substitute chicken broth for the water & it gives it a flavor boost.) Our AL family said you're having some hot weather this week. Hope you stay cool.
Can't wait to make this, looks delicious. Enjoy all your videos, your kids are adorable and Audrey is one smart young lady and I know a big help to you. She will be a wonderful homemaker and cook.
That looks delicious! I’m going to try it! The story was so amazing, some people don’t believe there are angels unaware , but I do ! I can tell some great stories about lost items, that were very special to me. That just appeared. I believe an angel brought you those dishes. So sweet! I don’t have a suggestion regarding how to display the dishes. I’d be so afraid they’d fall and break. Unless you could put them down in some styrofoam, the bottom of them, real tight, and put them on a shelf, hide the bottom with the styrofoam.
Please write or tape on back which one came from Justin's family and which one from your family. In years to come you may forget. The plates are so special!!😊❤
Don't use those metal plate hangers, they put so much pressure on the plates and many times cracks the plate,, I'd hang a shelf and put a grove in the shelf ,paint the shelf it can be so cute. I have lost plates from hanging, DONT DO IT ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have a stack of random plates from my grannie who would have been 106. We just buried my other 97 year old grandmother last week - those items are priceless
That's a very sweet plate story. Those plates are very beautiful! ❤
Great dish story

When l got married my mother gave me a whole set of those dishes, they were my grandmother's who had passed.I still have them and my daughter keeps eyeing them.😊❤
I'd put in a china cabinet or where totally safe. Beautiful plates
Love the plates! I think by the range hood would look great! Precious memories! Casserole looks delicious!🤤🤤. Have a great weekend!🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰🥰

That dishware is beautiful. What a sweet coincidence 😊
Yummy! That looks delicious! You can buy the metal plate hangers. They hold them pretty secure. Be sure and buy the hooks that has the nail attached to put in the wall to hang the plate hangers on. I would not want them to be hung on regular nails. They would look good on the side of your hood vent.
This looks so good! Two of my favorites together. Conecuh sausage is just amazing 😋
That looks so delicious 😋 your plates are very nice have a blessed day friend 🙏
You could try putting those plates in the shadow box frames and securing those to the wall that might keep them safe. But it is kind of cool how you found one from Justin's side of the family and one from your side those are wonderful heirlooms

Tiffany, maybe see if you can find a shadow box to display it in.. maybe add a picture of her too and write the story. It would be quite a keep sake
You can get wire holders for the wall
I love your videos. I'm making the cabbage bake tonight. ❤
I'm here n Alabama also.
Oh I’m excited for this! I love cooked cabbage and sausage but I’m stoked for the cream added! Thank you.
What a wonderful story and how it all worked out!!

If you have a dining room , I would put them in there . In a hutch . Or get a small hutch for your kitchen. Keep your eye open for similar pieces
Tiffany, your story gave me chills! That is just so sweet & special! You’ll have to let us know once you figure out how to display them. I would love to see!
It was my great grandmother so it would be your great great grandmother. She gave it to me before she passed away.
Yes, that's right! I didn't even catch that I had that wrong. Sometimes I want to think Mama Della was younger than she was.
Great story 😊thanks for the recipe I need ideas 😂
I've never seen anyone put cream in cabbage. What a unique idea

On kitchen cabinet doors

I love raw cabbage also 😊great recipe and easy ! I remember those dishes , my grandma had them and I’m 62 so they are old !
What a great story about the plates !!
You need a hutch ❤
I absolutely love the plate story, they’re beautiful! I also love your shirt, it’s so pretty! Very nice video, take care.
Screenshotting and will put on my family’s menu next week 🤤
Those dishes are absolutely beautiful 🤩
Thank you so much for making this video! (It was me who had emailed you)
Also, love the plates but more so the story, stuff like that is so cool!
The sausage and cabbage looks so delicious! Also love the story with your dishes...they were meant for you! Watching from Northeast MO...Love your channel so much!

Had conecuh sausage yesterday for breakfast! It’s the best!!
Can't wait to make this, looks delicious. Enjoy all your videos, your kids are adorable and Audrey is one smart young lady and I know a big help to you. She will be a wonderful homemaker and cook.
I think she will be too ❤️
My granny has those same dishes. Watching from Oklahoma
That looks delicious! I’m going to try it!
The story was so amazing, some people don’t believe there are angels unaware , but I do ! I can tell some great stories about lost items, that were very special to me. That just appeared.

That's a great idea. I may try that!
By the way, I live in Boaz, AL and have to go into Cullman all the time to visit my MS doctor.
Love your cooking videos!!
I’m going to have to try the cabbage
What do you normally serve it with? I was thinking mashed potatoes? 🥔 ☺️
Potatoes or rice, sometimes mac n cheese, sometimes just a side of bread. :)
I have three plates that my grandma had
No you’re right it’s tin foil😂 that’s what I’ve always called it. Love from Missouri
Please write or tape on back which one came from Justin's family and which one from your family. In years to come you may forget. The plates are so special!!😊❤
That's a good idea. I'm sure that would help me kids years down the road know the story as well.
Yes, might not mean as much to your boys, but certainly your daughter as she grows older.🥰
Hi I'm second. Watching from Pennsylvania.
Don't use those metal plate hangers, they put so much pressure on the plates and many times cracks the plate,, I'd hang a shelf and put a grove in the shelf ,paint the shelf it can be so cute. I have lost plates from hanging, DONT DO IT ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m impressed your kids will eat cabbage. Mine never liked it; actually I didn’t like it until I was an adult
There's not much they don't like. The boys don't like tomatoes but that's about it.
Does the heavy whipping cream make it creamy? Looks yummy
It does, but just the right amount, not too much. It's so good!
I love the dish story 💓 and the recipe looks so good. I love conecuh sausage any way you fix it. Is that a 9x-13 dish by the way?
