    Mr. Knight looked incredible in this episode. Another great episode. My favorite part of this episode was the back-and-forth between Steven Grant and Marc Spector. Khonshu looks terrific in this series. Arthur Harrow is a great villain. I love the visuals in this show. Arthur Harrow being a former avatar of Khonshu, was an excellent twist. Arthur Harrow roasting Khonshu was cool-blooded. I'm also enjoying this show. I loved the interaction between Steven Grant and Arthur Harrow in this episode. Khonshu has no chill. Another thing I loved about this episode was Layla, and her interaction with Steven Grant was fun to watch.

    Marc and Steven suffer from DID (dissociative identity disorder).
    Oscar Isaac doesn’t just portray Marc and Steven, but he’s also an executive producer. When he heard the story would begin in London, he decided to put on two different accents so viewers would be able to tell them apart.
    When Steven is wearing the suit, he's known as Mr. Knight. He looks like a Kingsman Deadpool. Manners maketh man.
    Director Mohamed Diab fought for Layla to be Egyptian. May Calamawy is from Bahrain but has Egyptian-Palestinian roots. My sister first heard of her in a Hulu show called Ramy. I haven’t seen it yet, but my sister said she got to do a lot more in Moon Knight by comparison. People are gonna know her more thanks to Marvel Studios.
    While the story takes place in Egypt, the desert scenes were actually filmed in Jordan where Oscar previously worked on Star Wars and Dune.
    They weren’t able to film in actual Egypt due to political climate, but Mohamed improvised by having downtown Cairo replicated in Budapest where they previously filmed Black Widow. The set they built was about four to five blocks wide.
    And finally, Anton Mogart/Midnight Man was portrayed by French actor Gaspard Ulliel. Unfortunately, he passed away back in January 2022 when he had an accident at a skiing resort in France. Moon Knight was one of his final projects released posthumously. The third episode is dedicated to him.

    Thats cool that you checked this show out. I have a similar diagnosis as Marc/Steven. Not DID, but a form of it called OSDD-1A. For years we've "lost time" and after the sudden passing of our service dog, my other parts had to carry me through it. This show does a pretty good job at the frustration and confusion of missing time and waking in places you don't remember going to. The superhero stuff is fun too. I think they start the show with the glass shoes to help keep the audience from siding with Harrow, because there are moments in the show where he seems reasonable but in the end you realize that he's holding some screwed up misconceptions and he's too wrapped up in his own melodramatic nonsense to know he's in the wrong, so the producers start with the shoe thing and it immediately gives you this feeling of "This guy is off his rocker"

  • @greencello599
    @greencello599 Год назад +1

    Moon Knight in the comics has an interesting history. It started with one character, then changed to a different person. To settle the mess, all future iterations of Moon Knight are the same person with Dissociative Identity Disorder, or multiple personalities. This is one of the few characters in fiction that is a protagonist with a mental heath problem. Sadly, most characters with mental health problems are relegated to villain status due to an unconscious bias against people with such ailments. I, myself, am working on my own fiction story in which my main male protagonist has severe depression almost becoming bipolar disorder. It's still in the rough stage, but the story is nearly completed, for book one.

These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Team."

Arthur Harrow is also the king of gaslighting. There is a lot of great music in the show. The other Gods have no chill, and they're biased against Khonshu. Cannot recommend strongly enough the Cinema Therapy episode on this show. They delve into how good a representation of Dissociative Identity Disorder this is, how accurately it reflects the reality of the condition, and where artistic license is taken to either get the point across to normies or to service the fantastical aspect of the story. It makes a great show even better, seeing how accurately they got it, and how much they clearly cared about presenting this complicated mental health issue in an accurate, and more importantly compassionate, light.

    This show has some phenomenal acting and some very cool visuals. It seems to be a favorite of many MCU fans. For some reason I can't quite explain, I just couldn't get into this show. I was trying to catch up on all the Disney+ MCU shows, and I loved a bunch of them, but watching this one just felt like a chore. I didn't make it to episode 6. Episode 5 was the last one I saw. Maybe watching your reactions to it will give me some new insight that might change my opinion of it.

    Yay I’m glad you are enjoying this show. Oscar Isaac is great in this. I was sad to learn the actor in the third episode who had possession of the casket died tragically in a skiing accident:(
    You can also look forward to seeing Oscar in your. X Men reactions. He plays the villain Apocalypse in X Men Apocalypse

    In the comics, Moon Knight was a member of Hawkeye's West Coast Avengers, along with Wanda, Vision, Kate Bishop, War Machine, U S Agent, Mockingbird (Hawkeye's wife) and Wonderman (who's due to get a series of his own). Too bad Marvel doesn't seem to be moving in that direction.
