Yinchuan is the place of Hui people. Interestingly Zheng He who is from Hui minority during Ming Dynasty visited Semarang, Central Java Indonesia and built a temple with Chinese architecture over there. The temple still last until present day.
Great job, man. While most foreigners tend to be enchanted by the major/modern/touristy/metropolitan areas in China, seasoned and connoisseur China travelers explore off-the-beaten path/less modern/more provincial/more aboriginal/more culturally unique and diverse areas. Well done 👍 ❤
好! 寧夏沒去過. Those blue skies look like the skies of my home state, California. Cultural crossroads are always so interesting for those who appreciate history.
I loved the walk. A very pretty city. You said one pint turned into 5, but you didn't look drunk. If I had drunk 5, I would have been intoxicated for sure. I too like beer on really hot day. I can't wait until the next video cuz it will be in Mongolia looking for Xanadu! Thank you for all your work. ❤️🙏❤️
I think these are the two best pagodas yet, even though you weren't able to climb the second one. That's a shame, and surprising, since it's relatively new (well, 200+ yo) and seems pretty solidly built. The first one was very nice though, as was the temple around it. I liked the drum tower too. You find a lot of wonderful spots! Too bad not many people outside of China know of these gems (I certainly had never heard of these pagodas, like so many that you visit) but I think your channel's changing that.
They are both wonderful! The second one...yeh the pagoda itself is in good shape but often the stairs inside are wooden so need replacing sometimes. I will keep looking for great places to show you, China is full of fantastic history!
Great video! I am very impressed how knowledgeable you are about Chinese history. Islam is localized in China and there are 17-25 million Muslims living in China, some of them are the descendants of Arab or Persian merchants who arrived in Southern China especially in Quanzhou (seaport) in Fujian province in the 12th century during Marco Polo era and married local Chinese women, and never returned. You may fin done of the oldest mosques built by Arabs in Guangzhou during the Tang dynasty in 627. There are also Hui Muslims in Yunnan province. You may also want to visit Xinjiang and Tibet in the future...colorful culture, different religions and interesting history. Subscribed!
Thanks for subscribing! A lot of Hui ancestry also lies on the silk road. Arab merchants overlanding it to China and staying, settling down and marrying local women. A diverse country!
@kuloglu6311 All of these places are really central. Actually you could walk them all easily in an afternoon. If you do need a taxi though, it's super cheap.
You deserves a lot more views then now! The places you went are the places we Chinese would go. Not only the big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Guangzhou and Chengdu,.
I just checked online to find out what on earth you are talking about...and it's true! He had a bunch of videos on youtube! hahaha. so random. Good knowledge 🙏

Very interesting historical figure, Zheng He. I visited Malacca a few years back, i believe he has some connection there too.

This is a lesser known part of China! It is very nicely preserved and beautiful. Thank you for sharing these historic sights to the world!
My pleasure and many more videos on the way!

Beer and Wine in the Muslim region. Brilliant. Priceless.
@MetaView7 do remember 2/3rds of the population are not muslim. In the south of Ningxia it is a bit different, that's the real Hui muslim heartland
Quiet and beautiful place
It certainly is. Pretty small for a provincial capital

It's a really friendly city! Ningxia is pretty cool part of China
You're really a fan of pagodas, I suppose. Also, I never know how to expect Yinchuan, but now I got insight into it. Thank you
Yinchuan is lovely! Quite a laid back city with some nice spots to visit
Amazing video, nick! Thank you. Do you know if there are any pieces of culture set in Ningxia? Films, literature, poetry, etc.

Oh yeh, big wine country around here! The Helan mountains are famous for it

China has endless travel plans and routes. Lots to see and do!
cool~
look at the shape of inner Mongolia, it's almost telling us how the nomad people rushed to the border of China proper.
Yes! currently having a great time in Inner Mongolia...Nadam festival tomorrow!
john cena lived in yinchuan for 5 months, he absolutely loves the city.

Yep, it is up there!
You must visit 中卫。
Wondering how long you need to stay in China to cover every historical spot?
many lifetimes 😂😂
地下文物看河南,地上文物看山西,山西五台山佛光寺唯一存世唐代木质结构,你应该去。
Its another pagoda day.
Only 2! 😜😜

😂😂 😂
The temple is not a mosque. It's a Buddist temple. It was built by Tangut people who were culturally distinct from Chinese.
Yup, i said it isn't a mosque in the video. But is aligned east to west, which is interesting!
tanguts got progressively sinosiced
