Fun video Cuiv ! (MS flight sim is well regarded graphically so I guessed it was correct .. and I've taken enough photos of the moon with my iPhone enough to know that intuitively :)
LOL. I am sure you have some really technical videos coming up in the New Year to overcompensate. Thanks for all the entertainment, inspiration and insights, and have a good Christmas.
You are right, it is funny to oi this check. It is also very usefull to do this check on true astrophotographic images. By example checking the focal length of the instrument knowing the pixel size (pixel scale).
It’s so typical of our times that people who know nothing (or at least very little) still believe they have the right to judge things solely on the basis of their ignorance.
An interesting question though, is does the simulator account for the moon illusion when the moon is on the horizon, or does the illusion itself still "work" in the simulator? Or in photos? Like when does the illusion "break"?
Hey, I had a question, could you do a comparison of the various Smart Telescopes like the S50, S30, and Dwarf 3 in a high light pollution area like Tokyo and a rather low light pollution are like rural Fukushima? Like take a 1 hour capture of Andromeda, and a Nebula with each telescope, so that we can see the difference between how these telescopes perform in a Class 8-9 sky vs a class 1-2 sky. Your captures of Andromeda from Tokyo are impressive, but what sort of difference would there be if you didn't have to deal with light pollution?
Hi Cuiv, well done, but impatient to see your review of the QHY minicam8... Your friend Luc "a vendu la mèche, maintenant on en peu plus d'attendre..." Joyeux Noel !!!

Hey Dylan! Thanks mate! Now the moon just needs a 14 inch SCT to rob it of all it's secrets :)

Nice one. As someone who used to be a professional mathematician this is the kind of content I love.

True!
Fun vid 👍 Merry Christmas/happy holiday to you and everyone who reads this.
Happy holidays!
In MSFS you can navigate using the stars
Awesome! Do they have old timey astro compasses in there?
An interesting question though, is does the simulator account for the moon illusion when the moon is on the horizon, or does the illusion itself still "work" in the simulator?

Good question, would need to test that!

Things like this are just so confusing for folks with little understanding of size, scale and perspective.
Yes!

Sample photo on Instagram;)
Cool but can you figure when & where the image was taken
It drives me nuts that every full moon now has some kind of name.
Oooh yes same thing, like the super blue harvest gold moon or some stuff like that!
@@CuivTheLazyGeek I think the last one I heard was the beaver moon, what the hell do beavers have to do with the moon!
Debunking the complainers, excellent! 🎄🌖🎄
Always fun!
It looks too small because it is a very wide angle in the game.
This is amazing 💀
Thanks for the early morning laugh
Always good paired with the coffee :)
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Omg, switch if that stupid RUclips title translation!!!!! Reads like a medical advice 😂😂😂
I had no idea that was a thing, I'll search for that setting!
Ok I looked into it, it should be gone now! RUclips sneaked in a new dubbing feature that ALSO translated titles and descriptions, ugh
first
🍪
Happy Christmas Cuiv
To you too, and happy holidays!
