I'm glad I'm not the only one waiting and waiting for Doctor Strange vol 2. I love A Separate Reality - Silver Dagger is so, so good... The Sise-Neg story is fantastic too. Have you ever heard the story of how the writers pretended to be a priest and wrote into marvel comics under that invented name to defend their storyline? I believe it had Stan Lee rather concerned, and the letter changed his attitude, so much so that it was printed in the back of a future issue!
When Gene Colon went over to DC Comics in 1980 he drew NightForce which was written by Marv Wolfman. If you liked Gene Colon's Dr. Strange you will probably like NightForce .
As you guided us through this Dr. Strange Epic Collection, I was waiting and waiting for the issues I remember best - the Steve Englehart / Frank Brunner issues. Back during those issues is when I jumped onto the Marvel Bandwagon. And the later issues when Gene Colan returned to the artwork were great, too. I bought those issues in Ann Arbor at The Eye of Agamotto Comic Book Shop. 😉
That's a great collection of Dr. Strange comics; always a favorite character. I've got some of the Masterworks, but not the Epic Collections. That masked look that they tried in these issues made kind of a comeback later (which you probably already know), in the 90s, when Dr. Strange created versions of himself Vincent Stevens and just Strange (Paradox). The construct Strange looks a whole lot like the masked Dr. Strange in this book.
I really didn't get into Dr. Strange until the 1980 X-Men King Size Annual #4. If You haven't read it .....You should. You meet Nightcrawlers foster Mother in it. I have two copies. A reading one, and One I've never opened. I paid 75 cents apiece for them off the rack at a gas station on a trip as a kid. I remember My Mother saying....Why are You buying 2 of the same comic....Crazy now 2 think about it. LOL 😆🤣 Also got into Him in the Defenders. I have always thought DR. Strange art always looked a lot like the Dracula comics. 🤷♂️ Put fangs on Dr. Strange, and You have Dracula. LoL. 🤣 Is not Arkham in DC...not all from H.P.Lovecraft?? Great Video Michael 👍😁👍
