I LIKE MOST YOUR TECHNIQUE; where it is not stringent and you’re not tied around a position, rather you put yourself at the center and the piano is surrounding you, so you look like you are a magician casting a spell on the piano!! 🧙♂️

Jesus is so awesome😍 i love that stride🥰🤗 and correct me if im wrong but it appears to me that the chords he plays revolve around the circle of fifths and/ fouths. I also love the 'Tom n Jerry' at the end 😉 I loved this lesson n played it slower so I cud grasp what hes playing obviously what makes him also a great player besides his talent n technique is that he can reach a tenth with his left hand thats an added advantage😉❤
Yes,the importance of spanning a tenth,creates a whole new dimension.Sadly I can not unless I rock them but its just a compromise.

I also didn't catch everything as this is an advanced lesson, i only hv grade 8 so I hv a lot to learn, I know I cud never play like this but can only aspire to n play at my level but I know my limits 😉 i do enjoy Scott Joplin (ragtime) as well. There is a book om learning jazz I think by Hannon🤔 but im not quite sure. They start u off playing the left hand going down 1tone n a half and right hand descending chromatically. Example LH C, F Bflat, Eflat, Aflat, Dflat, Gflat, B, E, A, D, G, C. Rightnand plays E+Bb together, Eb+ A together, D+Gsharp together, C#+Gtogether, C+F#together, B+F together, Bb+E together, A+Eb, G#+D together, G +C#, F#+C, F+B. Play with both hands, play C on th left and play E and Bb together on the right hand and so on, flow the above. This is just an exercise to get used to playing around the circle of fifths

This is brilliant! Can someone explain what chord/scale he (or Oscar) are using at 0:33 ? I know the progression must be a 251 of some sort on Ebmaj, but just confused on the choice of descending arpeggio he is using in this particular instance, especially on the II ...
It’s a Ab minor arpeggio starting on the B, so it would be B - Ab - Eb - B. I think about this as doing a Fm flat 5 before going to the 5 to add some spice to an interesting arpeggio. But if you think of the 2 as a dominant chord (F7), it also adds some good spice, so just mess around with that to get a cool sound. As for what he’s doing on the 5-1 he’s just doing inclosures and scale work, stuff that can be easily practiced and improvised.
