At least it was the least expensive of the possible problems.

Hi, I need information on how you installed the bit ten on the BMW, because I also have a BMW and I wouldn't know where to get the power supply and the REM, thanks.

I haven't done the install myself, I went to car audio shop, which I recommend that you do as well. Anyway, the power you get directly from the battery which is in the trunk. If you use the factory head unit, and therefore high level inputs, just switch on "Speaker turn on" and you don't need to worry about remote. It will turn on when it senses the signal from your head unit. You just use the REM OUT to turn on your amps. I highly recommend to go to a professional as you might burn your car easily if you don't know what you are doing.

I'm not sure why you got a larger than normal surge of power when you reconnected the battery. Did you maybe leave the battery disconnected longer than you normally do? My guess is that the energy stored in the capacitors in modules all over the vehicle became discharged and when you reconnected the battery you got a massive surge as those capacitors recharged.
Amplifiers do this all the time when they are disconnected from power. Most amps have a small discharge circuit that allows the capacitors to bleed down. When reconnected they might have a brief surge of current of 10 or more amps before settling down.
If the DSP uses a capacitor to save the basic settings, not the big presets, then it's capacitor may have gotten drained and the DSP reset itself. That would be my guess as to what happened.

They're all on the pricey side. The cheapest one I know of is the spl lab mini at about $250.

The only thing I don't like about Audison are their DSPs. They're very temperamental. They might need to be powered off when connecting to the laptop, then booting it up, ???
Also, your volume was down on the DSP because of the new firmware update, not because of the power surge.

I made the pictures before I made the upgrade. The volume reset to normal after firmware upgrade

Hey, I'm just curious. I don't have a BMW, but I wonder what your thoughts are on an underseat woofer? Is it a subwoofer, or is it as a midwoofer? Any thoughts? Thanks as always.

It's a compromise solution. It's clean a look and your trunk is free. However, you have to understand the limitations, because the available volume is very low. Bass will be average at best, unless the whole system has premium speakers/amps. Theoretically, it's just a sub, but it depends on how each car brand sets those speakers up. Having a whole seat and a passenger over it is definitely a bad thing. So, it's advisable to low pass these subs as low as your mid-high speakers allow, and have as much of the frequency spectrum coming from the front. Again, the 4" speakers will have their limitations as well, and at some point the under seat subs will have to take over.

Hi! i like so much your vids! i´d like to ask you something...what brand of dsp do you recomend and how should i connect it in my car? i´m looking for a dsp "good, nice, and cheap". My car has an amplified bose car sound system (stock audio system) and i just want to connect a subwoofer with amplifier. thanks!

If you want to connect a sub (and that’s the only upgrade), just get a hi-low signal adapter. Get the signal from the rear speakers and hook up the sub amplifier to the adapter. Go to a car audio shop. It’s not straightforward and dangerous to install an amplifier with no experience. Car can catch fire.

I suggest you do a lot of research on your specific car and find out what other people are doing. If you have a factory subwoofer then you may already have a good signal, if not then it's a lot more tricky to get a good subwoofer signal. Luckily, adding a subwoofer and small amp is usually the first modification that people make so you should be able to find a lot of examples with your specific vehicle.
