We work 12 hour days, 6 days a week, lifting, moving, carrying 1000s of pounds, by the end of the day, for peanuts, compared to pro athletes. We hurt, from head to toe, strap out boots back on, and keep doing it, so these guys shouldn't have a problem playing a game for 40 minutes, a few times a week.

As a sophomore I was moved from the JV team to the varsity team, which sounds like a good thing, but almost ended my high school basketball career because the Varsity team had a coach's requirement that we all wore the same shoe, which were Converse Startechs, I think. They cost $45, which back in 1984 was a lot of money, and my family just didn't have it. Funny because my family had always been poor, but that was the first time that it had "mattered".

90’s players didn’t play year round. NBA season is obviously too long. This is on the owners, not players. Just cause you’re rich from playing a “dumb sport” doesn’t mean you deserve to play injured or retire as a cripple with cte. Teachers and nurses not making money is deflecting the real issue, or numerous issues with society, government, taxes, etc. NBA makes money and compensation is premium, makes no sense to hate on that fraternity for doing right by its members. Other industries need to aspire to be like the NBA.
