    Nice video, solid explanations too. I personally marked my sledge every inch or so to make it a little easier to overload, although it's pretty easy to feel when you're at the perfect spot.

    I use an 8 pounder but hold it 30 inches out from the head. Marked with a piece of tape !

    Dude! This genius. I saw a vid like this before but it was using those super expensive indian maces so I moved on. This is so much better and the incremental weights idea is like so good. I gotta go to the hardware store and get a sledge now 🤣 Respect brother. Have a good one

      Thanks brotha I appreciate it. I was just playing around with the sledge one day and just decided to put all the movements together in a complex and see how it would feel. Well it kicked my ass and right then and there I knew this was special haha! Yea microplates are awesome I think I got those off Amazon for under 30 bucks maybe it's been a while. Yea bro grab yourself a sledge and get on it! Thanks again for watching

      @@tatertotinski9442 Yea man I learned LONG ago that the grip low back and hips are the KEY to REAL strength. I would also throw in the Neck. I've met guys who have never ever seen the inside of a gym but did labor work for a large part of their lives and just the grip and low back strength alone made their capabilities FAR beyond any untrained individual and even stronger in a real life type of way than alot of trained individuals. Your punches hurt more you can squeeze a mother fuc**r harder if needed carry heavy things ALL of it when that grip is on point. Thanks again G. Stay strong and have a great night. Talk soon

      @@backtobasics8046 Absolutely agree, man. Its a whole different beast. I def attribute my strength to manual labor I did earlier in life. And actually come to think of it im strong in all the areas you mentioned (except for my hips. Theyre jacked up 😭). So I think youre def on to something. I will! You stay strong too, brother💪 Have a good one

    I can't seem to move my fingers across the hammer at all. Am I too weak at the moment?

    • @backtobasics8046
      @backtobasics8046  2 года назад

      Hey there and thanks for the support! Try starting with an 8lb sledge and start in the middle of the hammer instead of the top of the handle. As you get stronger work further up until you can walk the entire handle. A fiberglass handle will also have a different feel than a wood handle. Try some chalk if you need to. It’s a different kind of strength to man it just takes time to build it up. Let me know if you need any help.

      @@backtobasics8046 Hi , first of all thank you for the response. Yes my sledgehammer handle is made of fiberglass. Unfortunately , it is not very practical for me to get another lighter one since my budget is limited. I will try starting from the middle as you mentioned. Luckily I have chalk that I bought for calisthenics work. My guess is with time I will just get stronger and be able to do it.

      Yo man sorry about the delayed response I didn’t see this. Do you have any small weight plate’s? You can use a broom handle or mop handle and just slip a 5 or 10 pound weight plate on the handle and boom you got a way to do finger walks. Hope that helps man let me know if you have any more questions.
