- #shorts The president arrived before noon Hawaii standard time... and was greeted by Governor Josh Green.
The first thing on his agenda was to board a helicopter to survey the devastation in Lahaina.
At least 114 people have died in the wildfires, and authorities continue to search for more than 800 people who are still unaccounted for.
Biden plans to tour the damage in Lahaina and meet with officials for a briefing.
On Sunday, Biden released a statement that he will do everything in his power to help Maui recover and rebuild.
He says they will focus on respecting sacred lands, cultures and traditions.
