Chad Smith, the absolute giga chad he is, fixed a damn song that people probably didn't think needed fixing. The original is fine, but this one just gets me more pumped up.
Personally i prefer chad's version, the original is great not saying anything negative about it, but i just feel like it sounds so much better this way, especially his change the full drum track version where he just went for crazy fills, its insane how he was able to even map something that quickly, especially with a type of genre hes never listened to.
Then to be fair, i really am clueless on post screaming BMTH, but I might have to check out some more, only newer stuff ive heard was Happy i think its called, it was on the UFC 2 or UFC 3 game soundtrack, and now ive heard this, though, I do prefer chads version still, i do agree, his first run did need a bit more, but if he mixed it with some of the stuff he experimented with his 2nd run would be amazing if combined, the original song is great though, and i agree the drummer from BMTH was amazing when I did listen to their earlier stuff, cool to see they all still stayed together through the years
Not trying to shit on BMTH. The drums in this song are clearly not a priority and are taking a backseat. But this just makes them look like it took 5 mins to write and then they left it as is. Sometimes that is exactly what is required for that song. Must be hard as a drummer to accept that is your role on that song, I would think.
Bit late to the party, but Chad just nailed it. I have a feeling that if given time and freedom Chad would make a better job on the drums for this song. Matt is great, and I love him, but on this song the drums are missing, it's like they are there just to fill the form. But awesome song anyways.
@bob2shred894 I like that tribal beat he was doing, but I feel like he could have changed it up a bit and put some cymbals in there just for a different feeling.
@@bob2shred894 after his version of "The Kill" (same session as this) Toews joked he did it so well that they needed to give him another one, and chad said nah I'm good, then they gave him another one and while very pleasant you could see he wasn't thrilled. He prob internally said eh fine I'll do one more but you're getting a basic version. Which his basic is still very enjoyable and better than most. And his basic was still more complicated than the original, he just didn't vary it. After "The Kill" he also said he decided to overplay that one, so maybe he decided to not overplay this one and over compensated. He might have even noticed he didn't apply himself enough after the first time through so gave us the solo. To me it looked like he wanted to be done and chat more than play one more song so he just got through it. Just opinions and theories though. I enjoyed it regardless.
@@christopherlevere1978 I've seen the other one as well. Don't get me wrong , I still enjoyed it but he seemed to not take it serious enough in comparison to the other drumeo videos

Good eve here to you Shane...watching here😊
Chad's version is MUCH better than the original.
Agree! Hahahaha
Yes
It's more upbeat i think
@@secrated Yeah, it drives the song more
Would definitely be a great radio remix!
Chad uses that tribal style beat to give it almost an anthemic sound. Like he's building hype for the entire song. Brilliant

Dude, first time hearing.... This is perfect!
Absolutely stunning my favorite drummer ❤❤❤❤
This is gard ti believe! Absolutely goated
Hey Shane, I think you should also sing! Your voice is so low, almost sound like Johnny Cash! Very bass voice, which is very rare!

if it's the same day they did 30 seconds to mars, then that means they held onto this video for TEN months lmfao. insanity
One may hope they have a lot more material and we will get more episodes with Chad in this format. This is awesome!

His over playing the original drums was much better than his 1st try

I like chad but when you go on Drumeo you should over play to make it different. Chad seemed to just cruise through this one.
