Everyone tells me to not keep Oscar with Koi, I know a place where I can get them larger than my Oscars but I'm not sure if I should. I see you keep them together. What can I do? I currently have 3 Iridescent Sharks (1 Albino), 2 Columbian/Black Fin Sharks, 3 Filament Barbs, 1 Yellow Severum, 1 Tilapia, 1 Albino Bichir, 1 Clown Knifefish and my 3 Oscar Fish. They all get along quite well, the Oscars are annoying sometimes to each other and the Severum but NEVER to the other fish which. I was looking into finalizing my tank with an Arowana and a Red Tail Catfish but Koi were my first fish so I'm still kinda yearning for at least 1.
I would mix koi with predator fish… and man do you have these in a pool pond or 1000g tank?
@@HaYNFishKeeper They're all very small, the oscars are not even 10cm long, the largest are the Iridescent Sharks. I have a 50 gallon tank and they swim around and chill with no issues but I'm planning on replacing it in a few months as I also forgot to mention I have a Pacu which is growing really fast. I would love a Koi as those colors are something you can't really get anywhere else, maybe the Arowana but not those bright orange Kois or the White Koi. So what would you recommend? maybe 13-15cm Koi?

@@HaYNFishKeeper Thanks for the tips man, btw I forgot to mention I'd love to have a room and a pond like yours lol. With bunch of fish and tanks but I'm just starting out haha. Also what is your reasoning behind it? What my local aquarium shop told me was because the Koi are very chill in its swimming pattern and not as quick as let's say a Barb if threatened or attacked, so if the Oscars attack it they wouldn't defend themselves or run away the same way.

I had an albino tiger oscar in the same tank with a pike cichlid (which are hard to find) blood parrot cichlid, blue convict cichlid and a tilapia Butterkofri. I had to take back the Butterkofri because those are super mean.

Anything is possible but it really depends on the fishes attitude I’ve seen some crazy fish kept together!!
My local only has longfin oscars in, including albino. Got a 90 gal cycling, gonna get 1 of each, along with a severum, and a senegal bichir

I think i got a gold spotted severum, n they lebled it as just a gold one lol it has more red spots in its head. I think my other one though, is a true gold severum. Maybe his colors have not came in yet (he is young).

I have a tiger oscar and a red oscar i bought that were 2 inches and lived with my angel fish in a 150 gallon aqurium and 2 years later they all live together still with no problems

So I have a question so basically I have a big 100 gallon cichlid tank which I have just put fish in about a week or two ago and I have a green terror two Oscar’s a chocolate cichlid a pleco and a electric blue jack Dempsey and a gold severum all are juveniles except for the severum and was wondering if I had room for one or two more chichlids

You can put fire mouth cichlids in with Oscars you can also do red Jules cichlids you can put suncatfish bumblebee catfish Severn in with them an Dovicichlids Parrot fish red devil green tilapia albino tilapia pink tilapia giraffe cat picticecat flag tail barbs Ghost knife Bala sharks Tinfoil barbs Silver dollars in Redhooks That’s just some that I have had with Oscars and had no problems sometimes the red devil can be a little bit of a buthead

What if you're oscar will even destroy common plecos? Just killed my last one, my red oscar "moose" is unbelievably mean. Only things he hasn't Ate is for some reason or another 1 bronze Cory and an algea eater. He even attacked my redtail bad.. had to seperate. Growing them out soon they go back together him with a kinda shy tiger albino "vinny"ive had many full set ups with Oscar's with every chiclid u can think of. I don't get this fish... he just so mean. Attacks my hands..

@@HaYNFishKeeper I know .I have keep Oscars in the past, so it is just an idea. An idea I wish I had tried. My age caused me to stop keeping fish my self, so I give others my suggestions. In a tank large enough to keep Ops Gourami with Oscars, probably should be a pool with a glass side (kidding) should be large enough for fast swimming fish like the Bala Shards and almost extinct Tinfoil Barbs to move around. Kissing Gouramis would be the only question. Living in a place like Hawaii but safe from tidal waves and wildfires (GOD bless and care of those people) would make a great set up.The ideal to have a large enough pond for breeding while allowing people to swim in with a plexiglass window would be terrific. See old people can still dream.
