If the split jerk is too weird to figure out quickly, an easier variation could just be the power jerk. Keeping the feet in the same position as the push press but incorporating a bit of a drop under the bar for the lockout. It seemed easier to swap over to that for me when I had a short amateur show prep for axle C&P. Helped me add about 30-40 pounds without a crazy number of training sessions. Just an amateur throwing ideas out there. Good luck at the Arnold!
@12:15 - That's some real coach mentoring right there. Seeing the athlete-coach interaction is golden. Throw more of that stuff in your videos. Well, maybe not too much because you don't want to give away all your secrets to the competition. 😊
Learning split jerk timing and technique will be hard or near impossible just look at Mitch hooper for example - he went into Arnold’s last year and started push press hybrid split jerk - but finally when he got a weight lifting coach his technique changed, and with top end weight u might only end up where your max push press might be, yes u are right all the biggest overheads in history are split jerks but that’s a lifetime of practice, would love to see you pop into a weight lifting gym and possibly learn the correct technique and mechanics then from behind the neck you might be able to top your max push press in 8 weeks - but self learning split jerk in 8 weeks not possible and too much of a gamble, Great videos lads - subscribed 👍
Why did you use the red bands ? On the log press. I obviously to light the load at the bottom of the press but the chains already enable you to do that. Did you want it extra light at the bottom ?
My favorite strongman couple

Really looking forward to seeing you two at the Arnold, lineup this year is crazy.
Thanks to Liz. Good vids.
A power jerk would probably be a good option. Good luck guys!
I’m always jealous of the big strong guys that don’t need all the attachments just to lift
That's why at any level strongman is such a cool sport. It's all about increasing functionality strength
