Ying Li Painter

From May 18, 2013 through September 29, 2013, the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown has an exhibition featuring 11 artists. It is called "Creative Hand, Discerning Heart: Form, Rhythm, Song" and this film profiles the painter Ying Li .
Ying Li moved to the US from China and has become one of Philadelphia's premiere painters. Her style is quite "painterly" in the sense of thick paint and obvious brushstrokes, and she captures a special energy in her haunting landscapes. She is very happy to experience the freedom of her new country and is a huge fan of jazz music.

too bad about the "Cultural Revolution" in China, what a horrible time... sent to labor camps for ten years,..that's so disgusting.
