    After considering many different bikes to replace the Tuono with, a decision was made.

    I also traded the Tuono for a S1000R. Not regrets at all. The BMW was better in every way than the Tuono except for the sound and midrange. But I missed the sound and ended up with a '22 MT10SP. The BMW is better in many ways, the ergonomics are more sporty so handles better in tight and twisty stuff. The suspension is more compliant. The electronics package is great. The MT is more comfortable and upright but lacks the feel and sportiness in tight stuff. There are more small things but BOTH bikes are better, more reliable and nicer to ride than the Tuono!

    • @FocusedGarage
      @FocusedGarage  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for commenting! I wish I liked the look of the MT10 more lol. It kinda fills that middle ground of rawness that the Tuono had that the S1000R is lacking. It is funny how on paper all these bikes are pretty similar but riding characteristics and how they are in real life are vastly different. The technology on the S1000R is great in comparison to my base Tuono V4. Perhaps an M1000R would give me even more performance, but I still don't think that bike has the midrange the Tuono had. All 3 are great bikes and you can't go wrong with any of them.

      mt10sp rides better than a tuono? Sounds like the reliability has soured you.

    Strange? I've seen more BMW's on the mechanics lift than any other bike. They're notorious for being unreliable. Most long-term studies showed that Ducati, BMW, and KTM's are pretty poor when it comes to reliability. Heck, that's one of the reasons I ended up with an Aprilia. Triumph was my first choice, but imo you can't sport tour with the newer Triples.
    Looking forward to a long term review.
    Take care ✌️

    Congrats dude! Knew it had to be a S1000 of some kind. Cycle Werks is also pretty good with support. I threw the Arrow full exhaust and Brentune on my '21 XR---it's a completely different animal. Might let my RS 660 go for another BMW.

    I traded a Tuono Factory 2019 last week for a 2021 S1000R, no regrets at all. Loved the Tuono so much, but I think the S1000R is more usable in general, way better electronics/confort. I think the chasis of the tuono is unbeattable but in overall S1000R is way better and smooth.

      @@FocusedGarage Just wondering how bad is it really ?
      I mean i have been using Duke 790 since 4 years and besides some niggles here and there it been a great bike, and i done 20000 plus kms on it.
      Am now in the market for a bigger bike and Tuono was on the top of my list but the reliability and service network pushed me away. Streetfighter V4 with it super low ground clearance and 100 km tank range also put me off.
      Leaving speed triple and s1000r, S1000r is at least 25% more expensive than Speed Triple in India, which made me gravitate towards the Speed.

    • @raybaker1866
      @raybaker1866 6 месяцев назад

      @@bharadghost I myself have owned the 890 Duke r for the past 3 years. It’s actually the best bike I’ve ever owned, so easy to carve up some twisty roads. For reasons unknown to most men, I want a newer, bigger bike. I’ve watched every video on the Tuono, BMW s1000r, Kawasaki S1000x, Speed Triple… Every single one of them have some kind of issue or issues that make me want to just keep the 890 because I have zero issues with it. But I want a newer bigger bike! 🤦‍♂️ Anyway, the BMW and the speed, like yourself, are on my short short list. For me the Speed has better grunt low to mid, better comfort, and better looks. The BMW I would feel more confident in its quality control. So I’m hopefully gonna get the Speed in that orange color before next spring. Unless I change my mind again! 😂

    Just don't do stage 2 brentune unless you want to be going through ignition coils.
    I thunk about this one too, would match my m2 nicely. But then decided to forget about it after trying the XR, just didn't like the engine at all (0 throttle response or power until 8k rpm or so on the stock tune), easy to ride fast, but not fun and very sterile/digital feeling (r is probably better than xr in sensation of speed and engagement due to ergos and less wind protection), awful brakes, meh suspension. Although on paper it ticked all the boxes. Maybe I would've liked the SR more.

    • @FocusedGarage
      @FocusedGarage  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the heads up about Brentune. Is there any one in particular you do recommend? Funny you mention the M2, I was looking to buy one after I picked this bike up. The XR is the Tracer 1000 I want but know that Yamaha will never build lol. I did ride the XR before buying this R. It was a good bike but this R felt so much lighter and more nimble. I can buy the more comfortable bike later in life, lol.

    • @FocusedGarage
