The Aprilia required another warranty claim and it may be time to think of a replacement.
I love my Tuono. I’ve had the exact same issues. Fortunately, my dealer is under an hour and the were able to get the parts quickly. Knock on wood, it’s running perfectly now.
Sorry to hear about the issues. I have a '21 Tuono Factory and had the gas issue as well. It popped up at the end part of the year and I finally took it to Ape dealer (about 2 hours from me) early this year and same thing, had to wait to get part. I was having them do something else but I took the bike back after it was done and just waited for the fuel relay replacement. A month later, it just magically one day stopped flashing and was fine. I haven't gone back to dealership but only because it's so far. I have thankfully not had any leaking issues but have had a friend with a '21 Tuono have some leaking issues and I have another with '21 RSV4 who has had not only the gasket issue you mentioned but also some transmission issues and is also thinking of selling. I love this bike to death and it's been one of the best so I'm good for now but just wanted to say that I have seen these issues and know that it sucks. Good luck with your new bike.
Thanks for the comment! It is sad to hear how common and widespread these issues seem. I have seen it a lot on the FB groups as well. They are incredible machines when they are working properly but I just can't own a bike that is down waiting on parts all the time. It still probably wouldn't stop me from trying again in the future, haha.
That’s very interesting! I used to work for the Piaggio group in London! They are as hopeless now as they were back then. The parts were always a problem to get. I’m a massive fan of the Aprilia V4 1100, it’s at the top of my shopping list, that or the KTM 1390!
I wanted a Tuono but after this vid I’m going to look at the big 4. 33,000 miles on my gsxs1000 and not one issue. My gsxr had 35,000 miles. No issues there either. That sucks because it’s a beautiful bike.
If you want reliability, stay with the Japanese bikes haha.

Glad to have found this video. I just got back from a night ride on my 2022 Tuono RR with 1800 miles on it. Fuel sending unit has already failed me, tft fuel gauge is flashing like crazy 😒😒

That is crazy, another one struck by the fuel sending unit with such low miles on the bike. Sorry to hear it.
Totally feel your pain but once you've had a Tuono it's like motorcycle crack . I live in the U.K and we have similar problems here. I'm on my 5th Tuono now but only 2 have had issues. Seems if you need reliability look to the land of the rising sun.
Yeah I’ve had 4 Tuonos and they were all addictive but they all had problems.

I've never owned an Aprilia, but I have been tempted a few times. Some of the more "common" manufacturers have weird problems too, aside from like Suzuki, Honda, etc., I had a 2018 KTM 1090 Adventure R. I bought it used 3 years ago, it was a train wreck even though it looked good in pictures AND in person. Got it home after driving across Montana back to Wyoming, and there was a really slow coolant leak (the guy claimed he didn't know about it but ya what do you do), so that was about a 500 dollar repair. Now, he had converted the front tire to a tube and I didn't think that was smart and he threw in a new Continental TKC 60 rear tire, I went to change it (rode motocross/supercross/enduro I have changed hundreds of tires), and I didn't know that I had to be super careful with this inner seal thing, and hit it. I went to find one, couldn't, went to the local dealer they found me one at a dealer in montana and traded with them, but the front tire? There wasn't going to be another gasket coming in to KTM's main warehouse till August, it was April... Again the shop called around and found one in Oregon or something, and they got it sorted out.
Bike is great for the entire summer, the next year (this last fall) I took the bike to Idaho and did the BDR, it was great just amazing, took it on some other rides then winter hit. In January I look at my bikes in the garage and hey look the front tire is low, again, fill it and it goes down pretty fast. I complain about this to a buddy at church who had a 1290 adventure R and he said "from brand new mine leaked." I just threw up my hands and traded it in...
It is so odd how bikes can have one part that just keeps messing up, yet bikes I had 40, 30, 20, 10 years ago, were just flawless and only needed regular maintenance. And good Lord do a massive number of the electronics seem to distract whilst riding.
You know….I have the Tuano V4 2022. I’ve only put 500 miles on the bike. Can you all guess why? I expect the bike to run when I want to ride it. At a considerable great fiscal loss, I’m dumping mine. What to get as a replacement? Anything that runs!

I have a Tuono v4 (2022), mine has been fine,done 2x2500 mile trips to Italy on it!I always buy Aprilia I must have been lucky with the one's I bought.Only getting parts are slow I find.
I have always bought Aprilia's ,I they have been good reliable bike's,got Tuono v4 1100rr(2022),had no problems with it ,done 2500mile return trip's on it.I heard part's can take time.I wouldn't use a dealer who wastes my time.
also just fyi, i owned an XR for over 6 years before the tuono and NEVER had a single issue with it.

Sorry for your troubles however gotta say I bought my Aprilia Tuono 2018 new & 5 years later never had a single issue with it, nothing, nada, & I ride the hell outa it.
It seems your gen holds up better for whatever reason, haha.
i have my 2020 Tuono Factory and never had any issue with it since i bought it home. it's over 15K now and still like new

my 2020 rr has been fantastic as well! im at 9k miles now and sending it in early for the first valve service this week before i ride the wheels off of it this season. ill probably be close to 20k miles by the end of the season. i put 5k miles on it in 4 months during the fall. videos like this do scare me but i know the 17-20 electronics are a bit different
I have a (2022) Tuono v4 RR,done 2x 2500 mile trips to Italy on it from UK,no problems.I always buy Aprilia's they all have been good reliable motorcycle's!
I got fed up with the bullshit dealership experience (2 pointless 400 mile highway trips and wasted days getting nothing done instead of the ECU update (Idaho dealer had no clue what the right map was and refused to follow what I found out from calling af1, ended up mailing that to af1, so it could be updated to use the upmap) and MIA unit install (parts took a year there, then the bike showed zero signs of it being there after the install, dealer probably didn't update something) because the dealer was clueless about things that they had appointments for ahead of time and couldn't reach the piaggio representative since it was a Saturday, they also didn't secure the rear cowl properly and it flew off, so I had to get replacement parts for what got damaged there and reassembled it).
Bought a v4 pikes peak as a replacement after trying sfv4s, sdr Evo, s1000xr, older pikes peaks, normal multi v4s, diavel v4. Decided to sacrifice some excitement for extra practicality and comfort. The other consideration was h2sxse which was heavily discounted new at a dealer, but the dealer refused to give me a test ride, so I ended up paying a lot more for the pikes peak from a decent dealer instead.
Sold the aprilia with all of the factory and aftermarket billet mirrors, levers, brake cooling ducts, carbon huggers and under seat panels, factory risers, rear cowl, sliders, clutch cover, USB charger, slipon, airbox with Gabro map, luimoto seat cover, and puig screen privately for 19 within two weeks.
I basically knew that pikes peak would be the answer in case tuono wouldn't be comfortable enough or if I had any issues with it even before getting the aprilia. Maybe m1000xr will be pretty decent, I doubt it based on how boring s1000xr is to ride, and h2sxse is supposedly just a heavy straight line rocket that doesn't handle. Mt10sp could probably be decent with some added wind protection.
It makes me feel better knowing I am not alone in the awful dealer experience and issues that plague these bikes. Incredible machine when it works right but ownership experience makes you not want to keep it. I also have high hopes for the M1000XR, but I know it's gonna be ungodly expensive.
Same thing happens to other brands such as KTM, Triumph (personal experience) ... if you want to be super safe go Japanese.
I have SO MANY trouble free miles on all the Yamahas I've owned. lol

I wish I watched your video before I made the purchase. In my area, riding season is also limited. I purchased my new Tuono 3 weeks ago, and I've only had it for 24 hours. It's been with the dealer twice already and it is still there now for overheating and brakes issues and my tank has paint issues as well. Missed trackdays some rides and it is frustrating. What does not help is I also discovered that Aprilia owners are in denial and turn a blind eye on its issues. I am in contact with the customer service but like what you said, there is no urgency. It really really sucks..
I was almost set on buying a Tuono 660, but these kind of stories are what drove me away from getting one. There's no way this should be your only bike or primary bike. Aprilia is a dessert bike. You better have another bike you can ride in the meanwhile if your Aprilia develops an issue, because it can be in the shop for months.
As great as a bike this may be, it's hard for me to want to spend what they cost and then just having the bike out of commission for months.
I have the same bike. I also had the same issue with the fuel sending unit. However, my experience (when I couldn’t get a new part) if you ride it, monitor the fuel amount via trip meter, the contacts that inform the fuel gauge will be cleaned as the fuel levels go up and down and it will begin to work again.
Mine didn’t work accurately for about two weeks. But, I kept track of the miles on the tank and it was fine. Then, suddenly, it worked and is great now
Yea it was intermittent as I was experiencing that issue but knew it would ultimately fail for good. Haha.
Unfortunately all the most desirable bikes seem to come from Europe. My S1000XR has had major issues ie Water pump replacement and rear shock before 15000 kms, luckily I had bought a used bike with some warranty left. Don't kid yourself that any bike other than from a Japanese manufacturer will be any more reliable. So unfortunately, if you want to be relaxed re reliability instead of the riding experience . . . .
Crap man, I just went for a quick ride and that fuel light started to go crazy, I’ve put 3000km on it and didn’t have any issues until today, I thought i was one of the lucky ones. 😂 I guess I’m not. It’s sat there for a couple of months and now I got this. I already have it for sale and now it’s something I need to take care of before I sell or just do what you did and trade it. I’m already looking for sreetfighters around me.
Hopefully it is intermittent enough to where it just stops happening lol.
what a bummer, sorry to hear. ive had all the same problems. luckily the fuel sensor was replaced before i bought it. hopefully mine will be ok now after 3 repairs. also being in cali helps like you said both from an experienced dealership pov and 12 mo riding season.
California has some really good Aprilia dealers from what I've seen. You are lucky haha.
Sounds very familiar I own a KTM.
In my case the parts wait is not even my issue but the only dealer I have in Austin is just incompetent and careless.
Funny I considered Tuono, but it is a small bike for me.

really sucks because the bike is so good......near me we have like 4 Aprilia dealerships within an hour and riding is year around, we actually wait for winter..... so plenty of choice but realize most dont have that luxury
Sorry to hear this. I've done a lot of touring on my 2017 Tuono RR and have loved it. It seems the newer Euro bike version has more issues and maybe the 2017 to 2020 bike is more reliable. I recently did the valve service but had to travel to San Francisco to get a mechanic I trusted so right you just don't have the support with such a niche brand. Mine burns a quart every 3K miles but otherwise has been reliable after 10K miles as the 2nd owner. I just don't think can find anything like it? Ducati Street Fighter V2 is cool but I don't think it would tour well and would get wind blown. BMW XR will be more reliable but a bit boring for me:) Have a lot of friends that love the GS but will buy that when retire as old man bike :)
Is it funny because a lot of people say the gen before 2021 is the best Tuono made as far as reliability goes. They are such an amazing package. Enjoy yours!
I got M 1000R 2023 for 6monts now with 12k on it and it absolute beast of a bike without any issues so far it might suits you going from Tuono Cheers J
I tried getting a M1000R but dealers either didn't have one, or wanted insane markups on them if they did have one. I found a dealer that would let me order at MSRP but it was an unknown ETA.
Can you say which dealership it was? Or is it safe to say its the one in Roselle?
Damn, I am sorry to hear this. I own a Tuono v4 Factory 2023 but I am in Europe and parts are easier to source here. Is that the main reason you sold it?
Yes, parts availability is the main reason I sold it. I have heard it isn't as bad in Europe!

For reference, I ordered the Gabro tune in Italt and I received it the next day in Romania. They move fast around Europe
@@AndreiOBKI have the same and I love it! I do seem to have an issue with oil consumption I’ve noticed around 2600miles on it. No leaks or anything but at 3000miles I checked and it is down. You have any issues like that?

i got 4200 trouble free miles daily riding my v4 for the last 4 months.
I took off a few odds and ends but left on the exhaust and tune so someone got a bike with some good mods on it. Haha.
