I love that this is Tony's design style. I see so many designers online who reproduce their own personal style for makeovers. It's shows such design maturity to embrace a style that suits the client.

This makeover (including the upstairs) is awesome! The result is so sophisticated even though the principles are simple and practical. Goes to show that the TSD method works! I also love how the owner/user of the apartment was so hands-on and committed to the project. And I also love that April is so happy with her surgery and it makes her more confident. You look so amazing!!!
I don't think I would have guessed you'd had surgery done, but it definitely explains why you look like you're glowing lately. It's such a subtle difference! I love Tony's makeovers, he's got such a strong vision, he just needed a nudge in the right direction.
This was so good. I already loved the first part. Tony has such a unique design style. It's not at all my cup of tea but I think you guys created a really cool, cohesive and functional space.
His space looked GORGEOUS, absolutely stunning in fact. Sometimes you just need people like you to give you a push and validate your ideas, but actually listen to people while giving your ideas respectfully. I do love your channel a lot!

Oh! I wish I'd said something in the first video where I thought, 'My goodness, not wearing her classes makes April look younger and glowing, she should leave them off more often - I've never seen that effect on someone taking off their glasses before - it's quite amazing. That was about my thoughts, so I knew something was going on but the affect was an overall glowing younger feel. It looks wonderful!
April, this is one of my favorite makeovers you've done! Just because you had so many limitations (and strange ideas from the client, truth be told), and you totally pulled it off to create a unique and lovely space for him. So often we normal people have to get creative because of limitations--whether budget or space or materials or all of the above--so showing your process and what you ended up with is so helpful. You're truly talented at this stuff!
That balanced shelf situation was making me very nervous!! When I found a counter in the trash in Japan I was lucky enough that my fridge and dish cupboard were the same height so I could use it to span one wall in my kitchen. Haha, happy trash walk memories. I could’ve used your help back then. I love that you were able to figure out the big layout challenges with Tony and then he took it and ran with it. The walk-in closet set up was a great idea. And yes, it would be such a bummer to sit down and not be able to see any of the view you’re paying for! Most of us sit in chairs for too much of the day anyway so I’m a big fan of Tony’s living room set up.
This makeover is amazing and the wait was worth it- it’s a beautiful apartment ☺️
