Amazing video, safety glasses would be a great addition. Metal filings in your eye can be an avoidable ER visit. Your channel is the best.

Building technique is so much different between our countries. Our homes are built from bricks and concrete. In Europe German building standard dominates. I'm really enjoying watching your videos. Love your approach and techniques. You are full of simplicity and optimism. Greeting from Serbia.

I just wanted to say thank you Jeff so much for this video. I was able to apply this technique to a garage door for my parents and saved them over $600. Their door had froze to the garage floor and the opener shredded the door. I was able to have them just buy a new door with no windows at a fraction of the cost and reuse the windows from the other door that else wise was still perfectly good.

I had NO IDEA you could do this. Genius!! I've been shopping for an affordable full-light door for weeks...and putting off ordering it b/c I've been dreading installing it by myself. SO gonna do this. Thank you!!

I already have a lite in my door but I'm not big on the stained glass pattern. I figured I'd have to buy a whole new door to change it. This is genius.

Since I’m an automotive painter at a shop I would spray with car paint. Stronger with a lot of UV protection. I did a matte black front door. Came out awesome.

To prevent screw tear-out, it is recommended to use a drill driver with a clutch as opposed to an impact driver.

Safety gloves were a good suggestion and a good example of staying safe...... However...... NO SAFETY GLASSES during drilling and jigsaw cutting is definately not. I am a sloppy painter so I would remove the hardware completely and use tape on the edges. I get to frustrated trying to keep and maintain a straight good looking edge. Awesome video..... I now have the confidence to do mine. Thank You. Your videos are always very informative and easy to follow.

Great video but I would suggest using a short blade and cut one side at a time to have nice straight cuts AND take the door off and do it outside if you can. Very messy!

I was just looking at lights for my doors. I thought, it really can’t be that easy! But you have shown me that it is. Thank you. I figured there had to be some insulation issues, some pain in the butt process to it. My daughter laughs at me because I spend so much time watching theses videos, but I am learning so much.

This is genius! I have a 96 year old house I will be renovating. The front door is ONLY 30 inches wide! I'll be installing a 36" door and wanted a glass panel. Your videos are great and very thorough. Thank-you.

Oh my, you just saved me a lot of money. I have been looking into changing the front door for a few months now, but this is wonderful information and you do such a great job at explaining the process. I also watched a few of the other videos on installing new door and cutting a door down to fit and I can't wait to put my new doors in now. I am so happy I came across your station! Thank you.

I did one of those 5-6 years ago. Super easy and Jeff does a good job in explaining how to do it, even explaining about the screw caps.

I would love to see how this DIY window insert project held up during one of Florida's Cat 4 hurricanes or 70mph wind tropical storms! Yikes😬

On the note of removing a handle where the painter didnt have concern is to use your razor to cut the paint to prevent anything paint pulling off.

Maybe this is a silly question, what about sealing? Won’t there be a draft? Love this channel by the way!
