There are many riders who rode till Ladakh in worse conditions than off roading on this bike. I even came across one rider who rode from Kerala to Ladakh.
Short answer : if cruiser ergonomic suits you then meteor else Honda. Honda has a better fit finish but lacks proper gear ratios hence overtakes on the highway is cumbersome.
Did you have any maintenance issue with the matte green color in your ownership experience? I have booked matte green, that's why I am confused, should I go for stellar black or this?
This is the worst suspension on any bike. The rear seat is so low such that the frame donot allow gas charged suspensions which has some travel. So they had to do away with a stiffer suspension so that the tyres don't touch the inner walls of rear fender. I own a meteor and I regret buying it for only one reason the suspension. Smallest pumps feels like super hard. Avoid. Get classic
Classic might not fit everyone when I test rode the classic I felt a little crammed. It felt like seating on the bike rather in the bike (which I prefer) so I had to go with Meteor, I agree that the suspension is hard. But, few things 1. If you ride with Pillion who is around 60kgs then the ride gets better 2. Run with 1 or 2 psi lower than the recommended tyre pressure this makes the rubber softer with load 3. Added Figo air seats (rider & Pillion ) with 50% air in it and the ride improved 5x time With the above mentioned mods me and my wife can do at least 700 kms in a day ( check out my Bangalore Chennai Bangalore in a day vlog ). Next ? I am currently looking out for swapping the suspension. Let's see. So far my meteor 350 has been modified heavily and it is nowhere close to the stock which brings more attachment to the bike. Above all my wife is happy doing long rides which makes me happy. I know it is a little tricky but come on, we have all the Jugad. Cheers 🍻
Even after spending 2.5 lack, if we would have to do Juggad, then it doesn't make sense to me. I bought it 2 years before and now feel like cheated... Its worst bike. I'm surprised how you are managing your self. I'll pray for your back... I already made my mind and soon sell it out...
Just before you sell try nitrox suspension it costs just 3k ( made a vid on this as well, pls give it a try) for the set. And talking about spending extra money, I do spend it on all my bikes to make it mine. That's my problem, I have to modify it. So I keep 50k aside at the time of purchasing. So my meteor costs 3lacs and I was prepared. Talking about back issues yes I had a back pain after riding on the stock suspension. I swapped it and before even purchasing I knew about this. Classic just did not work for me, height wise. so I had to go with a meteor So far 12k on the odo and chemistry is strong 💪 🍻
Tyre pressure i keep at 34 and Pillion act as a preload unfortunately the stock suspension even at softer settings is hard and there is no provision for adding extra preload. I have swapped the suspension with an older classic nitrox one and now with Pillion as preload it is softer. I will be dropping a video on the new suspension set up so keep an eye 👀 out for that. 💯 swapped out the stock suspension with nitrox suspension the older classic design. Trust me it makes the ride supremely soft. Got from RE ASC and cost me 3k for the pair.

It's subjective ( depends on the payload) not that bad . But I agree the rear shock could have been better. I am trying to swap it out .
