thanks for the great balancing demo.... i now have a 5900 like this one, and its one of the best old relic machines around. it hits tiny silver coins here in canada at 8 inches no problem. with the 4 filter macine like this one, if you run a blue max 600 you can crank sensitivity on max and get crazy deep and small items in trashy sites. its an awesome old machine,
hi i had one of those in the 80s they are very good machines i found some fantastic stuff with it ,you can use it at speed ,in fact if you have an iffy signal increasing the swing speed will clear it up i always had the sensitivity as high as i could without it sounding off to much, the sound of it brought back some memories when you turned it on good luck with it my friend will be looking out for your videos HH and best wishes,,,pat
THankyou Pat! I have had several of these over the years, I buy them and sell them and I always end up buying another one. They are fun to play with. GL HH

If you get on Ebay and search Whites metal detector accessories one should pop up on there, they are white in color and they hold 4 C size batteries, I think they still sell them. Hope this helped, thanks for watching my video's.
I have my late father's White 6000 in a case. It's been unused since 85. It is a very sentimental keepsake. What are the risks to the machine if I decide to install bateries and try it out?
If it was stored in a dry temperature controlled space and it didn't have the batteries left in it there should be no problem. If you are hesitant to try it now you could send the detector to Centerville electronics to have it checked out, they repair all of Whites metal detecting equipment and can tell you if yours is still functional.
@@coinspaderssp Thanks for the reply. Its been in its case since 1985. Periodically displayed. No Batteries. The two battery holders are in their foam spots.
It's pretty good, a little heavy for some people but it has very good discrimination and decent depth. If you use the smaller coils it works very good in the trashy areas.
@@harrybond007 I think for 250.00 you would be better off buying a Nokta/ makro Simplex + metal detector, they perform much better, they are much lighter and easier to use, they are water proof so rain will not hurt them. In my opinion that would be a much wiser choice unless you like using the older tech metal detectors. My 2 cents : )
hello , I have watched you several times and I like the way you explain things . I also have a 600 di series3 and it just like yours basically but I am having a problem and I thought maybe you could help .here goes , after I ground balance which is also like you do it , but when I start searching I will lay several coins on the ground and lets say when I go over a quarter it just registers right at the beginning of the yellow line close to the penny dime mark , why is that what could I be doing incorrectly . thanks
It sounds like the meter on your detector may need to be adjusted, the best thing you could do is send it to a Whites certified dealer so they could check it out and bring it back to spec. I have adjusted some of mine by slightly turning the small screw right below the needle clock wise, You could try this but like I said you should let the authorized people at Whites handle it because you may damage your meter. This is the only problem I can think of from my personal experience but I am not an expert on repairing detectors. It could be possibly something else. Hope I was able to help. GL HH
well Mr. coin Spader this is Dave halley again , thought id give you an update . I was reading in a whites forum about something similar to my problem ,so I took the cover off and took the top circuit board off and it said to clean the connectors that attach to the bottom board a lot of little pins that set in the circuit so I did and they were dirty believe it or not so I cleaned them and lubed the knobs while I had it apart I blew the dust off and put it back together and it works great ,If you ever need that info you will have it , thanks again
Good job. Many of us are very sad about Whites' demise. Great machines and people.
Looks like the one my dad had at the beach back in the 80s
