I too have a Catalina 22 I’ve pretty much rebuilt, after it sat on the hard for 4 years. I love it and try to sail it at least twice a week in Eastern North Carolina.
Sweet! There are three in our marina and one of them is one that the guy who bought Knot Enough used to own. I miss the simplicity of that 22' boat. We have a cabin cruiser now and I want to make a new video but have been too busy.

I'm saving for a cat 22 and this is is making the journey to then that much more exciting. with hopes Ill be sailing with my partner of life this summer breezing out to Catalina Island off the coast of the pacific. When we were younger we owned a 26 ft sloop. We'd trail it up from a little hamlet inthe Catskills into the Adirondacks setting sail on lakes where it would only ne our family and the loons. We snorkel in actual oak forests when the water was high. Following pickerel through a surreal landscape where even the dandelions were in bloom. Our children where still believing in dragons not that they still don't believe. so there we were, fresh caught trout on the grill. Carmen was four years old when she caught her first rainbow trout. Carmen is Alyssum and I's daughter and is living in Hawaii with her boyfriend Drew. Couldn't be more proud of all our children whom are artists and sailers just like us. Free spirits able to expand our horizons by being a part of all this beauty of this beautiful Country of ours. so make a wish for us for our children have grown our youngest in eleventh grade. No more perfect age to learn to sail on such a ship as the Catalina 22. So I could write forever of adventures sailing to hidden islands, becoming deer, or lions, pretending with our imaginations in a dance to bring us more together. We'd close our eyes just listening, breathing in and out calming ourselves. Then we'd become the animal or creature or even the wind itself sometimes. Just us in autumn on Maple Island so named by Guyaton who is our oldest. His art inspires me everyday and he like all our children is a one of a kind. So anyway if I don't stop myself ill write you a book. Happy sailing with much appreciation. -Mark
I have a 22 ft O'Day sailboat ⛵ 1979 Vero beach Florida and I live on it 365 days year-round cold or hot I love my 22 foot boat it's got four beds in it
This what I was wanting to see! I'm in the NW and needed to see some sun and sand. 68.7 degrees water temp. I think it's hilarious you find that cold. I wish we had 68.7ﾟ here. That's funny we don't really get in the water once it gets that cold, LOL. We have water temps in the high 80's in the summer. When we see foreigners at the beach swimming in the winter we think their nuts. I grew up in the North East, I know what the cold weather is like and don't miss it. Thanks for the comment!

Hey Tangles after watching a bunch of videos over the last few months I might hit you up for advice when I get a trailer sailer if it needs fixing up.. I’d say because of budget whatever I buy will need some work. Great videos these ones
Another great quality production from you guys. I had the same issue with wire slapping and instead of zip ties since I wasn’t rewiring the mast I just shoved 2 inch foam pipe insulation up the mast from one end around the wires and that worked for me. The pipe insulation comes split along one of its lengths so you can run the wire inside the foam. There are more permanent installations but that’s quick and easy. Doesn’t jam up my halyards either 👍🏼
@@AdventuresInParadise my Precision -23 has a center board like yours, but mine was stuck in the up position and wouldn't go down. Today I had the boat lifted out of the water. The problem was a lot of barnacles. I got it cleaned and released the center board. Whippee. I can go sailing again.
@@AdventuresInParadise my marina was asking 165, but found out another marina (5 miles away) that charged $5/ft. I motored there. They agreed to keep it on the slings for a couple of hours, which is how long it took for me to do the job. I then motored back to my marina.
Haha ... we tried that for a while with out power boat, and even had a marine grill. It was too much trouble, but we see people bringing full size home grills out to the island sometimes!
Here is the cure for the electric line slapping in the mast. Connect a line to the end of the electric line, pull it out and tighten cable ties onto the line about every 18 inches. Leave the tail of the tie long and it will cushion the cable against the inside of the mast. Use the line to pull the electric line back inside the mast.

Hi George, I was thinking of making a video about this subject because I don't think people realize what goes into it. Gopro Hero 8 is the handheld usually. Rail mounted Hero4, off-brand Gopro Clone for 3rd camera angles or extra shots/b-roll, Samsung 360 camera on the mast and the drone is a DJI Spark. Edited with Cyberlink Power Director. I have a degree in film and video production and I do enjoy that part, but just sailing the boat is a lot to do and each video takes several days to produce but I do hope to inspire somebody else as I was inspired by others. That boat was a few years ago but I bought the depth thing and then mounted it to a sliding aluminum thing that I could slide into the water (since we're in salt water). Really would be better to shoot thorough the hull up front somewhere. Thanks for watching! GPS was a small chart plotter we shared with our power boat. Can't recall the name but it's in the videos. Watch the one where we bring the cat22 home for the first time and I think I show it. Due to the channels we sail in and the shallow water off of them, especially with our 4.8" fin keel O'day, we can't go out without our chart plotter and it's saved us from running aground just from inattention several times.

Hello. See below. We can have all our electronics on all day and the batter does not drop even a tenth of a volt. This leaves me wondering why people get anything more than this. And since this is a day or overnight boat, there's no need to buy anything fancy as if it breaks, just buy another one.. Mines been going for a year and a half now. Amazon: search for Suner Power 20w solar with controller (it's less than $50 and even has an option to control a light automatically.
@@CandJSailing get something to mount it too. As you can see in my latest videos, I've mounted the panel to marine plastic (High Density Polyethylene) , and mounted some rail mounts to that plastic and hung it on the stern rail. This has been so much better than having it on the cabin top. At any rate, just not having it sliding around and keeping the power cord out of the way was something I waited to long to do..

We've stayed overnight on the spoil islands and didn't need bug spray. i guess because there aren't any animals for them to suck on.
