The musical importance of pocket as a "beat juggler" cannot be overstated enough. It is paramount to this style of DJing. Pocket can only be felt by the DJ establishing and maintaining it. His audience can hear it though. When that happens, everyone listening is grounded in a solid sense of time.

I FINALLY got the Chase + Fills pattern down correctly after constantly coming back to this video since it was uploaded. For those who are brainlocked like I was, you gotta relax all of the tension in your arms and be patient waiting for that snare. I was so locked on incorrect timing and too rigid with my arms. Loosen up and let that shit come to you 👍🏾.
