    i've been wanting to get this technique down since high school.
    Blind alley routine to me is the best strobing+beat flip routine.

    Fun fact for all you turntable nerds out there: people have always said 'halftime', but it's actually more like 2/3. Take a 100bpm track and strobe it, it'll end about about 66bpm.

    Best tutorial I've seen period. Ps strobing is tough! I've been trying everyday for 3 weeks and am starting to be able to do it thanks to this video. I woulda never understood to start the 2nd TT on the upbeat of 1 hi-hat. Thank you!

    I remember listening to these breaks back in the 80s thinking they sounded like something recorded a few decades before the 80s as they sounded so old and nothing like the music of the 80s but most were only 10-15 years old which I found really odd.

    Actually that doubling and tripling of that kick at the beginning is easier and sounds better to me but the strobing is interesting and harder.

    Maybe those who comment on this channel are all geniuses, but, honestly, I have not understood the mechanics of this amazing technique. Maybe a graphical representation of the steps to follow, as well as a slow motion of its implementation, would help.

    Anybody know of some cheap direct drive turntables for scratching?

      Reloop Rp2000, Reloop Rp 4000 for great begginer direct drive table at great price of $199-$280. Also Audio Technica Lp-120 but they don't have quite as much torque. Also Stanton t-92 USB is a nice table but more like $300.

      Its the same movements and timing, just use different parts of the record. This video is strobing. If you check out Rob Swift's video on Chasing, its slightly different.

      @@briank3799 hey dude....i scratch hamster style as well and trying to follow this can be confusing, its not as simple as saying "oh just reverse it" i havent found a lot of tutorials online for "us hamster folks" but i know dj emma/short-e scratches hamster style and is dope as fuck, i looked to see if i could find a strobing tutorial but didnt see one but it would be worth looking through her channel tho: ruclips.net/user/studioscratchesvideos

      It would be helpful to see the waveform to get a feel of which deck each sound was coming from. Just watching the decks is not helping me much. This technique needs too much concentration! 😬😬😬
