Dude, I was an OTR driver for more than fifty years. Hauled everything you can think of, starting out logging, though. Even "yanked a tank" for a while back in the days of drop down and pin legs and top load only tanks. Hauled milk, too (hated that job, but it sure taught me how to back up in tight places, makes hitting a dock a breeze). Usually, I don't watch this style of video. I find it boring. However, yours is the exception. You obviously take pride in your truck, your cooking skills are fantastic, and you treat your dog with love. Thankyou.

I drove a day cab Titan 90 with 8500 gal tanker trailer back in the late 70's for three years. Liked the 13 speed Road Ranger behind a noisy/weak/oil consuming 350 screaming jimmy. And I washed by hand all the time and did fluid/filter changes.

One thing I NEVER did was trust my fuel gauges. I would have put it in first gear and bumped the stater to get to the pump. 400’, if you did it in ten feet increments it would have made it.
I did it once, however it was only about 25’. I never ran out of fuel again!

I agree 💯 I love listening too a Diesel engine run and you can definitely tell a lot about how it is running that way. back in the 80’s we had a two week stretch of cold weather in the Midwest where it didn’t get above -20 F and I ran #2 diesel with a quart of methanol in each tank and I didn’t have any fuel problems but there were trucks every couple miles on the side of the road gelled up but I couldn’t believe how smooth the engine ran and the power it had in those conditions

BTW I have one of those lil Coleman gas stoves I've had for over 30 yeas, still works like a charm and will burn your food if you don't keep the flame down but will boil water in a one quart pot in minutes, and it is easy on gas! 👏🏽 👍🏼☺

Yes sir, that's the only downside to trying to use all your money's worth with fuel in big rig tanks. The fuel went to the back of the tank and it didn't suck up enough and caused it to shut off.
I've heard stories of guys having this issue with still a quarter of a tank, which is still quite a bit a fuel, but because of staying parked on an angle or driving up at an angle, it screwed them.
The only way to fix it is to prime the engine and line again. Definitely sucks... Pun intended 😂😊 Glad all worked out well!

I'd tap into the rear of the tank. connect another fuel line and T it into the other lines. May be more expensive next time.
