I think I have a different issue the running board on the passenger side does not come down when opening the front passenger door but comes down when opening the back passenger door on the same side. Any suggestions
Taken from another source, and I no longer have this escalade to verify, but maybe try this: Cadillac Escalade's power running boards aren't working, usually, the simplest thing You can do is just reset them. There's a small disable switch underneath the HVAC climate control system in the middle of Your bash board that will let You toggle the system on and off. If, however, Your running boards seem to be stuck in the up and down position, say, after Your battery has died or other issues, there's a way to deal with that without needing to go into a shop or use a scan tool. Open all the front and rear doors, and then set the parking brake. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position, and with the engine still off, toggle the disable switch mentioned above three times within 20 sections. Then, close all the doors. Open the left front or left rear door and You should see the left side board extend now. Close it, and the board should retract. Do the same test on the right side. You should now have Your power running boards working.
When you put the shim in how much did you tighten the bolt. I'm having trouble with my driver's side. It comes down hard and then tries to go back up barely. If I use my foot and barely touch it it goes up
I just played with it till it worked. It's not an exact thing unfortunately. However I did tighten it till it was tight. So if you shim and tighten down and it doesn't work, you need more shines/washers etc
@@RebuildEmpire1 thank you! I will continue to work on it. It's a new motor and hinge so I'm thinking it has to be the bracket that attaches to the body of the vehicle.
@rodneyspeed3248 The key area that flexes is the back side of the rocker. In my experience, it's the weak point, being that it flexes it creates a binding issue with the step. To me there didn't seem to be any adjustments. I had soaked my hinges to no avail in transmission fluid for days. I had seen a thing about drilling out the hinge to install a grease zerk, but it turns out the mid area of the hinge is pressed into that area and it hinges on the ends. Further investigation lead me to learn there are copper bushings in there that don't exactly rot. So I operated them with them not attached to the escalade. Tricky to not cause damages... but they operated. Bolted them on... they did not. Loosened and found the sweet spot and thus the video. Hope that helps a little bit
Have a 2014 luxury escalate - just stopped working out of nowhere. Checked the fuse box, good there, but they are in the up position - any ideas? Thank you for your video and any ideas!

Loosen the backside mounting bolts and see if they move, kinda odd both sides go out at the same time
