Watching the faces of people who are reacting to him for the first time... It's true joy, you know? Freddie just inspires that in people, and it's amazing to witness.
Sorry William, BUT without the other Freddy was nothing, look at his solo career. Many of the songs were collaborations, or written by each member. QUEEN was a band, a band of brothers that lived the life and delivered. To say Freddy was Queen takes away from the guitars, bass and drums.... peace
A thought I have had about just how amazing the group was is that realistically you could have take each of Freddie, Brian, and Roger but any decent group around each of them and all three would probably have ended as legendary bands. I'm glad they didn't, but they were all that good.
@@kevinfloyd808 Absolutely! I've often thought that Brian or Roger were definitely good enough to have been successful fronting their own bands. But they're legends because they did what they do best in a band with the best damn frontman ever. Add a bass player like Deacy and you're golden!
Hell yeah... Everybody loves him! Even people who've never heard of him love Roger! You take out the drums or (blasphemous, I know) stick some rando' in his place, and it's JUST NOT QUEEN ANYMORE!!! ;o)
I think one reason Freddie is such a joy to watch is because when he's onstage he's so vibrantly and completely alive. It lifts us to share that with him.
There are few souls who are here and leave that universally stamp their mark on the world, to the point that everyone and anyone can agree that the world is a far darker place for having lost them. Freddie Mercury is without a doubt one of these rare souls, and the world is truly that less bright without him....
Some birds are not meant to be kept. Their feathers (and songs) are just too bright. You miss them when they're gone, and you realize the world is a darker, grayer place without them around... BUT you're glad to have known them, even for so little a while. ;o)
Roger Taylor (Drums) is such a fantastic singer, he could have easily fronted his own band. This is a group of unbelievably talented individuals. This is such an amazing video that showcases Freddy's amazing voice and personality. This one of my favorite songs.
@@jpw6893 I went to one of their concerts in the 90s and it was amazing. It was the last concert od the "Mad, Bad.." Tour in Germany and they played almost 3 hours. One of the best concerts I've seen even if I missed my last train and had to spend the night alone at the train station until I could get the first train at 5 am. It was a journey on over 300 km one way but it was worth every penny.
Queen is Legendary and always will be..Amazing chemistry, totally focused, very harmonized, and a lot of energy. Freddie, Brian, Roger and John, best musicians by far. Don't forget Roger's backing vocals while playing the drums. Concerts are not like that today. No lip syncing whatsoever. Pure talent. ❤️🔥
I’m so pleased and proud of new generations that truly enjoy and appreciate this music. I always felt sad that young people missed out on classically written, and performed music without auto tune and computerized backup. Just pure raw talent composed and performed. To me that’s music.
Great reaction… I appreciate very much that you didn’t interrupt the video every two seconds like most other reactors do… I am old enough and fortunate to have been to Queen concerts a couple times before Freddie passed, and he was amazing… There will never be another vocalist of his caliber. I first listened to this song way back in 1977, when it was a hit on the radio… The album version is beautiful but a little bit different.
I have been to about 300 concerts since I was 18, and I saw all of the greatest, including Elvis and Sinatra and Freddie Mercury had the most stage presence of all time.
I'll even give you that Queen is probably one of (like top 5) if not THE best "Live" bands of all time... BUT... no... Studios get too "synthetic" for the sounds of a fair litany of bands and artists. They've been that way for years. The songs are more "pure" in the reproduction from a studio, and it's troublesome occasionally with the crowd noise... BUT "Bootlegs" have been around infamously for DECADES for a reason. To reproduce (or come close to) the energy of a concert is often far and away the best way to experience the music the way the band intended it. A LOT of bands sound better on stage than they ever did in a studio recording. Sorry... ;o)
He was such a natural on stage. Relaxed, poised, and relentless charisma. It makes me sad to think how many incredible performances we’ve missed with him dying so young. Long live QUEEN. ✌️
You probably know "Another One Bites the Dust" as well, which they weren't going to release, but M.J. talked them into it and told them they would be crazy not to. Just about everyone has been touched by Queen whether they realize it or not, they covered so many genres. One of the many reasons that made them amazing and a cut above all the rest.
Welcome to the magnificent world of QUEEN! The only rock band that has an eclectic musicality they can do any type of songs & sound great! Super talent.
I was there…we knew, we felt we were seeing something on another level. I’d seen them the night before in Toronto, other songs were this standout but the Montreal night this was beyond! Thanks for taking me back!
It was really a blessing when I twice had the opportunity to see them live in concert in Vienna, Austria - I will never forget that extraordnary performance they gave. I always liked them as a school kid. And now I even love them more than ever before. I miss Freddie, his talents, accurancy and awsome melodies. This year on November 24th it is already 30 years ago since Freddie passed away. R.I.P. Your Majesty ...
The amazing thing was that they just got better and more cohesive as a group, the older they got. Freddie’s voice became better and better. He also seemed more comfortable with himself in these later performances. Long live Queen. 🤘✌️
Freddy was so fucking amazing It's so great to see a new generation finding admiring his talents and not just his and the band's talents! Music lives on through us... The flow of music doesn't see equality sociological psychological economical political backgrounds It's literally just meant to flow through all of us and I hope that we can continue to share it! 💞✌️💕
Just listened again after last night even better!!!!!! Just love the live performances so sad Freddy no longer with us and I miss john hope he chose the right path in life
I love your reaction. You looked like you were enjoying Queen in person. It’s my favorites version of “Somebody to Love”. Last year in the UK, home of the Beatles no less, survey results found Queen to be the greatest band of all time. I agree. FYI, lead guitarist Brian May is also an Astrophysicist.
I mean, Freddies voice gives the ears the best ear-gasm you can ever have. Ugh that man is sorely missed. My mama cried when he died. I grew up on Queen.
Excellent reaction 👏👏 Queen themselves all say in various interviews that they deliberately tend to make the live version different from the studio version ... "why would people come to see it live if it was the same? (as studio) they could stay at home and listen to the record" ... Queen live is an immersive experience no doubt about that!! 👍💐
Powerful, energetic & showcases Freddie's strength in vocal control. Kudos to Roger for vocals while drumming! John's bass is on point. and Brian is amazing, as always.
Wow…..to hear your praises on everyone in the group, especially Roger Taylor who’s voice was just….beyond amazing. Thank you for such a reaction video as this…..you are awesome 💖
Wow… how amazing was this? It is the greatest performance I have ever seen. Where all four band members are so in sync with each other. It is emotionally moving no words could ever describe. Freddie was our Mozart and tragically we did not realise it when he was alive…. I hope whatever is on the other side he is feeling how much we love absolutely everything about him. He and Queen are the only fabulous people who literally take me out of my crappy life, worries, losses and problems…. I put my headphones on and play this, I am no longer in my living room with a pile of bills, people hassling me by phone, text or messages…..I am in my heaven, mesmerised, captivated and made to believe I am special ♥️ It never gets old and when I see you good people enjoying it as much as me it is truly heart warming. I was a little girl when Queen did the Live Aid concert. I just remember it was something really exciting to look forward to here in England, like a Royal wedding, after Charles marrying Diana… It was that much of an event. Following the release the previous Christmas in 1984 of Band Aids Do They Know It’s Christmas single, which I actually still have. My big brother saved up money from his Saturday job at a butcher’s to buy it for me…. My birthday is the 21st December so it was a combined present along with Wham’s Last Christmas which came out at the same time. Besides Star Wars toys that was my greatest present of all time 😊 Thank you so much for making a lonely lady feel like I am not….. for you are transported to planet Mercury with me for a little while. Take care, Julie from Manchester, England 💋x
Thanks for that! The Queen is epic and it's not just "Somebody to Love." This is a unique gold mine. Over a thousand recordings, live performances and studio recordings. All this legacy is here for us to enjoy life and real music. Thak You Forever Freddie and Queen!
Always come back to your queen vids as well as a few others. Loved the sincerity and pure joy of your reactions. Freddie such a likeable guy. I’m a 37yr old guy from the UK who is just too young to have seen them live and love to see people react like me when I found them. You’ve done nearly all their hits but I couldn’t see “under pressure” I would love to see you react to there Wembley version from 1986. Pure Freddie showmanship at the start and then incredible vocals and band chemistry
When you here Frendie , your soul cheers. Makes the mood. You feel it! Is a giant of music. Loved jazz music from him. And deaved inside to modal jazz , Chuck Berry , Luis Armstrongerc. Great jazz pianist and high voice. The song is a hard blues.
You just gained a new follower after recognizing how great Roger is! Too many youtube reactors to this song are far too focused on Freddie and miss the greatness of all the other band members. Great reaction Jayy!
Queen was a band consisting of probably the 4 most talented individuals on Earth! A once in many lifetimes of massively talented individuals coming together and doing something Earth shattering!
Queen is one of THE greatest bands of our time. We lost Freddie too soon and he’s still deeply missed. They’re all extremely talented but I do love to listen to and watch Freddie. Your facial expressions during your reaction were great!!!
Good on you for realizing that this performance needed both Roger and Freddy to seal the deal.... One or the other would make this song outstanding , but together they raise it to truly sublime....
Hey sister try out this song IM IN LOVE WITH MY CAR. The drummer name is ROGER TAYLOR. The song is from the same concert Montreal back in 1981. ROGER sings lead on that song. I know you will enjoy it. Thank you for doing QUEEN. Much love to you my friend. Take care. QUEEN BEE.
Roger did(does) have his own band even while with Queen. It’s called ‘The Cross’. Also writes his songs- every member has had a #1 hit song! Each member was college educated. In fact Brian is an astrophysicist- and guitar maker( his father and him made the guitar when Brian was a teenager. ) He still plays it! Roger and Brian still tour. I’ve loved Freddie so long and the band- since 1976!
I'm a bit obsessed with Taylor's vocals at the end of this performance. He and Freddie singing together is one of the best things ever. Taylor is probably a better singer than most of the lead singers in other bands.
Freddie Greatest live performer of all time. Dr Brian May best Lead Guitarist of all time John Deacon Greatest Base Guitarist of all time Roger Taylor Great Drummer of all time. Put them together makes Queen Greatest band of all time.
omg yess and even more perfect is to watch the original music video!!! especially a part i listen to over and over is when roger sings a chord and he sounds EXACTLY like a guitar!!! freaking awesome!!!
Freddie..was amazing..absolutely amazing but the band..as a whole... we'll never see a band like them ever again.. brian had an amazing vocal..then out of absolutely nowhere we got the drummer with a short but amazing vocal..truly and incredible band... miss them so much..imagine if freddie was alive now... i wish he was...
I’m from Montreal born in 62 ,,GOD,that was good,,so sorry to not be there whit my friend at the time,I was 19,, I missed something GREAT WOW😢,,so good memories.
In my opinion, that’s exactly why they’re definitely one of my top favorites all time. It’s extremely rare that every member of a band can sing, play instruments and each write #1 hits. The Beatles did, but Freddie puts on a SHOW! It’s also why us “older folks” complain about some of the music today. All you had was your god given talent back then. No auto tune. No digital enhancements. That’s why live clips are so good.
I love your reactions. And you are So emotional woman. Very beatiful. And your hairs Wow. For me you are person that everybody in the world should be. You have amazing, warm heart. IT would be a better world to live with People like you. Respect. Love you. Peter from London.
Freddie loved the music & voice of Aretha. This song was written with Aretha in mind. I think Freddie certainly accomplished this inspired sound. Simply the Best.
Queen is a special band. Only band that all members are composers which is also a top chart hit. All can play instruments as well. They can sing as well even deacon can. You also have a vocalist who's been able to grab an entire stadium to his hand. They are a genre of their own, it's very hard to sing a queen song, so how much more a two hour concert?? They create songs which can be anthem. Queen is once in a generation band period
I agree with both of them !! You should listen to the 25th anniversary versions as they have a real full orchestra on them and are stunning compared to the originals ... and the originals are fantastic !
Thank you for your great reaction to Queen's Somebody To Love Montreal performance. I love your reactions because you really give us a great perspective and say more than just WOW!!! Welcome to the world of Queen.
Love the reaction to Queen give John Miles - “Music” a listen to, it really is an overlooked masterpiece- he actually sits and plays the piano with the electric guitar he’s just played in his lap - reconmmend the Proms version with a full orchestra and as he has aged his voice seems to have more soul.

Freddie once told an interviewer: "I'm not the leader of the group. I'm the LEAD SINGER of the group." All four were equal partners.

I love how your eyes light up when you hear great music!! Keep doing your thing!!❤️
God, roger taylor has a fantastic voice, i love it!
From the Live Aid Reaction comment I left it still stands. Probably Thee best frontman and voice in music!!!!
THE best live performance of this song....
What an absolutely beautiful voice Freddie Mercury has! He’s a beautiful man. I love ❤️ you Freddie.
It’s nice to see your reaction to his music!
He might of had the greatest voice of any male vocalist in pop and rock.
I love your reaction. Queen are just the best, and Freddie, well he's just FREDDIE! An absolute icon. Subscribed. Love from the UK 💜 -x-
It’s so lovely to see the smile of pure pleasure on your face watching this
Great reaction girl! Roger Taylor bringing those amazing backup vocals!
So good!
I'm a bit obsessed with Taylor's vocals at the end of this performance.
He and Freddie singing together is one of the best things ever.
Taylor is probably a better singer than most of the lead singers in other bands.
Honey you made my whole day. Seeing you enjoy a song and band I grew up loving made me so happy. ❤️
Freddie Greatest live performer of all time. Dr Brian May best Lead Guitarist of all time John Deacon Greatest Base Guitarist of all time Roger Taylor Great Drummer of all time. Put them together makes Queen Greatest band of all time.
I would still like you to react to the studio version too... it is excellent as well, and you’ll hear a lot of really amazing harmonies.
omg yess and even more perfect is to watch the original music video!!! especially a part i listen to over and over is when roger sings a chord and he sounds EXACTLY like a guitar!!! freaking awesome!!!
The look on your face says it all. Queen astounds everyone.
These men are perfection. My favourite one by Queen.❤
Freddie was a gift from the Gods
💜💜💜I just love to see how much you appreciate the wonderful music of our legendary rock stars💜💜💜💜
Freddie sounded great even when doing a live performance. He had one of the most unique voices in the world. That is what made him a superstar.
Listen to them all! Slow but beautiful songs are Jealousy and Take My Breath Away. Both by Queen
Music is a world healer.
Pure energy released, and Queen was a reactor.
you should react to Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballé - How Can I Go On
I agree with both of them !!
Freddie wasn't a musician, he was a magician. The rest of the band was dope, but Freddie transcended everything. He was the ultimate live performer.
Queen was basically a super group. Freddie is the GOAT front man for a rock group, and it isn't even close
