You need to look up all of the top bands of '60s, '70s, and '80s. You will find some you like and some you don't. If you are like me, I can listen to just about any type of music.
No one but no one can EVER beat the original version of this song, No one can ever sing it like Freddie Mercury ... There will only ever be one of him.
Auto tune doesn’t make up for a lack of talent. Auto tune helps to provide a consistent tone which helps greatly when giggling. If you suck auto tune isn’t going to work.
@@nathanguilliams7255 The reason why auto tune is used so much nowadays is to cover up for the lack of talent. They just want to get famous and get money, they don’t really care about the music quality.
I was just about to say the same thing. You beat me by 48 minutes! That Live Aid performance is now considered the greatest live appearance by any artist in rock history.
Freddie Mercury is a legend. He was classically trained. He never fixed his teeth, for fear, it would change his voice. His voice could do anything. It was crystal clear, he could run laps around the chords. Iconic. The guitarist, Brian May, is not only one of the world’s greatest guitarists but he’s also an astrophysicist. Smart and talented.

Back when Queen did their We are the Champions tour I asked my dad to get me tickets. He know the guy who was in charge of tickets. My dad got the tickets and looked at me kinda funny. Queen didn't just perform. They told a story. This is the story of a murder, trial and conviction. Each phase of the story is broken into pieces. Rock opera as it had never been done and probably will never again. Pure genius!
I’m glad you watched this. I was one of the people recommending it. This song is legendary for good reason. In 1975 when this song was released, I was 16 years old and it blew me away. Now that you’ve taken the plunge you should delve into some more Queen. I was lucky enough to see Queen twice live at Live Aid and at Wembley. Definetly the worlds best band at the time. Freddie was an amazing writer, singer, actor, performer, the full package just like Elvis and Sinatra.
Whenever I watch a performance by Queen, I always feel like this happens: " Queen says, hey...wanna go for a ride?" I reply, "Sure!" and I get into the car. From there until the end of the song, I feel like the driver of the car has driven me through all the streets of a city and no two streets were alike. I get it that other people like to do covers of their favorite artists as a form of homage but... there are some songs, movies, etc. that you just don't touch, reboot, or revamp with your own spin on it. This rock opera masterpiece is one of those where nothing can compare or even come close to the original... It is in a class of its own & rightly dubbed as one of the greatest compositions of modern music. Every member of this band is a contributing songwriter & a master of their craft. There will never be another Freddie Mercury! I'm envious of you young people who get to hear him for the first time. There is so much amazing music out there from so very many artists for you to discover. Again, I'm really quite jealous! haha! Freddie passed on my birthday, so I light a candle and always play the song 'Who Wants To Live Forever' (by Queen). Please do some more of their music. They are all amazing musicians.
This isn’t a version-this is the original! If you like them, check out more info on them-there is a TON of info about them, and their catalog is huge. I love your reaction! Buckle up-Queen is a rush!
Think about this, no digital recording, no auto tune on the vocals, acoustic drums, electric guitar and bass through amps, pure genius writing! Nothing compares to the musicians of the 70's. This recording was almost lost, I can't remember how that happened, but I watched a mini documentary many many years ago that told the story. Great reaction Jayy, I really enjoy seeing the look on your face when you discovered this gem for the first time. Sweetheart, you have a long journey into the world of Classic Rock, Welcome to the BIG LEAGUE!
You could just run wild with Queen reactions for a solid 2 weeks at least. You'll get views and be amazed at the same time. The band is marvelous and Freddie Mercury is the greatest front man in Rock history. Eventually you need to do their "Live Aid" set which will give your goosebumps, goosebumps. Great reaction!
Watching you (and everyone for that matter) react to this song for the first time is hilarious. It’s a masterpiece. Just when you think you’ve got the song figured out they go and change it on you again LOL. Great reaction.
Queen is beyond wonderful! I only discovered them a few months ago myself and have fallen completely, hopelessly in love with them and can’t believe how lucky I am that I have found them! The funny thing is that they had been there all along only I had been too blind to see. I hope they bring you just as much joy!
I'm old [in my 60's] i saw these guys play my local town hall when i was 15yrs old. i was blown away. The very next summer this song came out. I loved the band ever since. I'm happy you enjoyed this. There is so much brilliant music from the 60's, 70's and 80's coming out of the UK and USA. Enjoy.
If you’ve never listened to Queen, you owe it to yourself to do so. I recommend “Somebody to Love” next. They were absolute hit machines in their day. I’d be shocked if you didn’t recognize a few of their songs immediately even if you didn’t actually know who it was you were hearing at the time.
I don't know what other version you're talking about but this original will never be beaten, it's easily one of the greatest songs of all time and I'm glad you've finally heard it =).
Queen is my favorite Band of All time, the 4 together just bring a Chemistry that is absolutely amazing, and then you have the Lead singer Freddie who was literally a Musical Genius, who also had one of the best if not the best Vocal Range and stage presence of All time. I can throw 20 Queen songs at you and not ONE will sound alike. I'd bet my left nut you have heard at least 5 Queen songs and had no idea it was them. Fucking Legends
Freddie actually did all the singing on this despite the video. Genius man. I remember when it came out and I heard it on the radio. Even on that first listen it felt like the song had always been around.
Angelina did a cute little girl version ....this is the original EPIC!!! I've been a Queen fan since 1975.... NOBODY can ever cover Queen and even come close. Try watching "Somebody to Love" live from Montreal...you'll see/hear Freddie Mercury's amazing voice again. Well, you hear is incredible voice in every song - but that's a particularly great time . WELCOME to the world of Queen, you'll never be disappointed
You'll never hear a song as good as this so much vocal range and musical range rock classical and opera nobody has or will have Freddie's voice along with the perfect instrumental play by the rest of the band RIP Freddie
Queen is one of the greatest rock bands of all time and their live concerts have gone down in history for their amazing entertainment value. Everybody that has tried covering any of their songs are just wasting their time, because there is NOBODY that can top the originals. Check out their full 25 minute set from Live Aid in 1985. It's considered by many to be the greatest live performance of all time.
My first reaction to people saying they have never heard this always surprises me...but you said it: "Why didn't anyone ever tell me about this!?" I heard it because my dad played it, my daughter heard it because I played it....it all comes down to exposure and the internet can, occasionally, be a gift. Glad you enjoyed!!! Queen and Freddie (RIP) are a gift!
soi hollywood they truly have no idea what they missed. I missed the 60’s and 70’s, and as good as 80’s and 90’s music was, i still wish i’d been there just a little bit earlier.
Freddie was a global rock icon. This song is about 6 min long and AJ had a time limit of about two minutes on AGT.. The remaining Queen band texted AJ and like her performance and thought would be smiling down on her. Freddie been gone awhile but his voice continues to thrill us. Jay it's like a rock opera just enjoy it and realize how far ahead they were with this video, no other videos like this around at the time. Queen has a wealth of great music to be explored.
I can count only 2 maybe 3 songs that are better than the original. This one is always the best because it's 1 of the best songs on the whole planet that's ever been created.
One of my favourite things at the moment is watching people fall in love with this impeccably, unique masterpiece. I wish I could hear this for the first time again, but I will never get bored of listening it over… and over again.
Love Queen, specially the awesome voice of lead singer Freddie Mercury, RIP. In my opinion the original and best version. Another great version is by Pentatonix. Other great songs by Queen : Somebody To Love, We Are The Champions, Don't Stop Me Now, and many many more. They're One of my favorite alltime groups along with the BeeGees and the Beatles.👍👍❤️💯
The entire song was in Freddie's head before a note was ever put on paper. May, Mercury, and Taylor reportedly sang their vocal parts continually for 10 to 12 hours a day. The entire piece took three weeks to record, and in some sections featured 180 separate overdubs. Since the studios of the time only offered 24-track analogue tape, it was necessary for the three to overdub themselves many times and "bounce" these down to successive sub-mixes. In the end, eighth-generation tapes were used. The various sections of tape containing the desired sub-mixes had to be spliced (cut and assembled in the correct sequence). May recalled placing a tape in front of the light and being able to see through it, as the tape had been used so many times. A similar story was told in 1977 by Taylor regarding the elaborate overdubs and sub-mixes for "The March of The Black Queen" for the album Queen II. At that time, the band was using 16-track equipment. Brian May made his own Guitar. He calls it the Red Special. In live performances, the operatic segment would be played from tape as it was too complicated for the band to perform live. As the heavy rock segment followed, the band would return to the stage.
I was 20 in 1975 and working with my mate on his MGB in the London sunshine when Kenny Everett played this record for the first time ever - anywhere in the world. At almost 6 minutes it was double the length of most singles at the time. He loved it so much that he immediately replayed it. We were shocked as it was like a thunderbolt through conventional pop and rock. Unbelievable. We all talked about it all day. Freddy and Queen had arrived. God bless them. RIP Freddy you blinking loveable genius and thank you.
Fun fact the guitar Brian May's slaying is called the Red Special in which him and I believe his dad built themselves plus Brian has several degrees including in astrophysics so he's Incredibly intelligent as are the other members in the band. Great reaction as always. Do stay safe as I'm noticing high increase of cases of Covid-19. Can't wait to you react to more Queen this isn't a request as I'm aware you're completely swamped with backlog of requests I'm just loving the majority of your reactions unfortunately some I'm not and it's not on you just the topic that you're reacting to for example I completely hate Family Guy never seen a single episode but bits and just hate everything about it however I will watch your reactions cause I love your personality, honesty and your complete down to earth attitude and I'll show your support to the growth of your channel which rightly deserves you keep going and never ever listen to those who want to bring you down cause their places are reserved in Hell! Xx♥️
The Red Special is still his number one guitar to this day. It was built from things they had around the house because he couldn't afford to buy a guitar as a teenager. Many copies have been made of it over the years because he did things with the pickups that had never been done before. Another cool tidbit is that he uses a sixpence as a pick.
And he doesn't use "picks", he uses a Penny (a COIN) instead, and yes, he built his guitar with his father... And he wrote a paper in astrophysics recently.
Chuck Wall - Yup! It’s amazing the sound you can get from a fireplace mantle, a bit of an oak table top, matchsticks, motorbike valve springs, a knife edge, shelf edging, a saddle bag holder, and a knitting needle!
Most artists only have one to two octave ranges when they sing, but it is widely believed that Freddie had four octave ranges which is why his singing voice was so amazing.
Check out Queen - Somebody to Love live Montreal '81. Also Under Pressure live '85. (You'll really appreciate Freddy Mercury's vocal range in this one.) Thanks again.😁
Bohemian Rhapsody came out in 1975. And is loosely based on Freddie Mercury's life and tribulations of trying to be a gay man in the 1970s. Many radio stations would not play it. They felt that no audience would listen to a song that was so long and had so many tempo changes. And now look, it's one of Queen's biggest hits ever.
Pretty speechless like we all were when we first heard. It’s a masterpiece of musicality and artistry. The record company said no one will ever listen to it it’s too long at six minutes. It will never get radio play.

Welcoming you with open arms
I think we all looked like that when we first heard it. :)
A truly beautiful song. So much creativity. Freddie Mercury had such an amazing voice. The range and power in his voice just blows you away.
I listened to this album in the 70’s. I still love Queen, Freddie Mercury is still the best frontman of all time. Awesome group.
Great response, Queen is one of my all time favorite groups. It was a sad, sad day when we lost Freddie.
Very happy you got to this Queen song! One of a kind band with the one of a kind legend Freddie Mercury. Thank you!
Girl you've got to do more Queen. The best band ever. Soooo...many hits.
Brian finished his Ph.D in Astrophysics too. He was able to continue the research he was doing when Queen first blew up.
Damn Jayy you never heard Bohemian Rhapsody before this song is legendary.
Loved the facial reactions to all the transitions lol
why cant we have more music like this in the world.
You could just run wild with Queen reactions for a solid 2 weeks at least. You'll get views and be amazed at the same time. The band is marvelous and Freddie Mercury is
the greatest front man in Rock history.
That's so cool! You should start checking out The Beatles!
@@MrUnderdog-vn3zf funny you should mention the Beatles. You could say I’m already a pretty big fan. I named my son after Paul McCartney.
All four were really great singers, put them all together and pure magic.
Queen: NOW I'M HERE, IT'S LATE, KEEP YOURSELF ALIVE, WE WILL ROCK YOU
I'm old [in my 60's] i saw these guys play my local town hall when i was 15yrs old. i was blown away.
I’d be shocked if you didn’t recognize a few of their songs immediately even if you didn’t actually know who it was you were hearing at the time.
the best song of all time !! Eternal sublime chords ... God save Queen.
I don't know what other version you're talking about but this original will never be beaten, it's easily one of the greatest songs of all time and I'm glad you've finally heard it =).
This is unbelievable- I heard it when it first came out - it still blows me away to this day - great job!
Angelina did a cute little girl version
....this is the original EPIC!!!
This is definitely a masterpiece! You'll never hear a rock song like this again.
Queen’s live performance of this at live aid reinvented them to a new audience.
With the headphones you will hear the full effect.. Queen was the first concert that I ever saw when I was 15 at MSG in NYC.. Bless your heart!
My son just peaked his head in my room: Galileo!
Who is Angelina 🤔
My first reaction to people saying they have never heard this always surprises me...but you said it: "Why didn't anyone ever tell me about this!?" I heard it because my dad played it, my daughter heard it because I played it....it all comes down to exposure and the internet can, occasionally, be a gift. Glad you enjoyed!!! Queen and Freddie (RIP) are a gift!
Oh how yall missed the 70’s and 80’s
soi hollywood they truly have no idea what they missed. I missed the 60’s and 70’s, and as good as 80’s and 90’s music was, i still wish i’d been there just a little bit earlier.
I am always jealous of these people!! If I get serious memory problems, my hope is that I forget who Queen was and what they did.
I grew up in the 80s I know how it was back then man I miss it.
My one wish in life is to see queens live concert
Or people who never saw Wayne's World 😂
That look on your face when you've just experienced one of the most amazing songs ever performed.
One of the greatest rock anthems ever made.
Nonetheless, a well-done cover is a huge compliment to the original artist.
When a cover of this song reaches 1 Billion views THEN it may possibly be better !
@@patwelch8187 yes I agree with you it's done the best by Johnny Cash The man in black
One of my favourite things at the moment is watching people fall in love with this impeccably, unique masterpiece. I wish I could hear this for the first time again, but I will never get bored of listening it over… and over again.
Brian May built his own custom guitar as a teenager and has played it his whole career. Nobody else has that sound!
Yup he and his dad made it from stuff in the garage. John Deacon also made his own amp!
Saw these guys in concert in '81 - still the best show I have ever seen in person.
Most of there biggest songs are from the 1970s
That particular song with the highs and the lows and the ups and the downs touches every corner of your soul.
QUEEN the greatest rock band EVER.... God bless Freddy Mercury RIP
This is one of the songs that I can bang my head so hard to that my headphones fall off. Just thought I should share that.
You should watch Queens Live Aid performance. That is considered one of the high points in their career.
Your reaction is sacred and pure. I'm grateful for your reaction. This woman is connected to the universe!!
RIP Freddy you blinking loveable genius and thank you.
the greatest ever :) nice reaction
the 2 main reactions to hearing queen for the first time is either shocked or nearly in tears. love queen
His astrophysics degree is a doctorate. He was also the chancellor of a university. Not bad for a Rock 'n Roller.
And he doesn't use "picks", he uses a Penny (a COIN) instead, and yes, he built his guitar with his father...
And he wrote a paper in astrophysics recently.
I thought it was six pence
THIS IS CALLED REAL MUSIC AND MUSICIANSHIP. PEOPLE THAT TOOK THE TIME TO LEARN THEIR INSTRUMENTS AND SHARE THAT TALENT WITH THE WORLD.
In Belgium it's years on end the #1 song in the top 1000 classics of all time and I literally mean it, for years
Bohemian Rhapsody performed by Queen is a true musical masterpiece, nothing compares to it.
Thanks Jayy!🌷🌷🌷🌷🌞
Pretty speechless like we all were when we first heard. It’s a masterpiece of musicality and artistry. The record company said no one will ever listen to it it’s too long at six minutes. It will never get radio play.
The timing on the sotto voce "This is crazy." is, itself, a work of art, coming as it does a split second before we head off out into the universe.
AND all that is done WITHOUT all the special machines used today. Just pure true talent
