  • Here is a pair of Spring Loaded Door Bucks (door holder stand) I put together so I can mortise out for the hinges on some interior doors.
    The spring loaded door bucks open and close on their own with the help of a large elastic band located under the base, these are held in place with two recessed 1/4" bolts, which allows the door bucks to open and close automatically when placing the door down on the bucks and when you remove the door. I had to add two small 3//4" blocks on the bottom side to give the elastic band more tension because they did not open and close on their own on the first try.
    The rest of these are made using scraps of plywood I already had on hand.
    Let me know if you have any questions about this project.

    Funny, even with the description I didn't know what it was until he put the door in it. Clever idea.

    Excellent job mate, unfortunately you're restricted to a certain door width because it's not adjustable, not criticising, just saying. 👍

      Yes you are correct, I made it to accept the narrower doors because it's what I needed at the time......thanks fir your input!👍

      They carry them at most truck stops, they are used to secure cargo straps for flat bed trucks, you can order them from a company called “Northgate Cargo Control” a package of 5 costs $3.99!

    Nice there are tons of holders for 13/4 " commercial doors but few for interior doors.

    put some felt on the edges of it, so it protects the door when you insert it in.

    You can buy ready made ones as cheap as chips, they work a treat, not only for doors, but sheet material, glass etc!

    • @henryworkswoodandmetal
      @henryworkswoodandmetal  4 года назад +1

      robert mitchell .... yes this is true or if you have a bunch of scrap wood you can make them for next to nothing.......

      I wouldn't call 26 quid each cheap as chips.
