Airfix Dornier Do-217 J-1 Plastic Model in 1/72nd Scale

Needed a tiny break from the paper Me-410 so I whipped this one up for nostalgia's sake. It's plastic, but I do those too! Always loved the Dornier bombers and this was for a Roy Cross Tribute build over on Hyper Scale. He was an amazing artist who made much of the Airfix box art I fell in love with as a lad. I still have the G9+HM half of the decals and the solid gun nose in my spare bits box from when I built that kit as the bomber version way back in the late 70's! thoroughly echo your words about the late Roy Cross, I'm building a F 80 shooting star from a 1973 box as a tribute to him myself, as I've always said, I feel like Roy personally sold me many kits due to his fantastic artwork.

I so agree, Phil. There are so many boxes I remember looking at just wishing I had the money to buy. His artwork was really special. I may build the Lancaster next which would go along well with the Dornier. We'll see! Thanks for subscribing and commenting. Much appreciated. -Dan
