This was the third Boeing 747 airframe for Sabena.
It was delivered at New-York, John F. Kennedy on June 13 1986, making the next day her first commercial flight to Brussels.
The Boeing 747-300 Combi was designed for 395 passengers: 16 First Class, 68 Business and 311 Economy. In Combi use with 263 passengers and 7 palettes.
It was scheduled on routes to New-York, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnatie, Mexico, Montréal, Kinshasa, Johannesburg, Tokyo - and flew with 3 pilots and 17 cabin crew.
This airplane was used several times in the 90s for evacuation during riots in Africa.
After December 17 1997, the First Class was history, seating was as follows 74 Business and 311 Economy. The cabin crew was reduced to 13.
This airplane performed it's final commercial flight SN544: Cincinnati to Brussels on October 28 1999. It made also a couple of farewell flights on October 30 and 31 1999.
After 30 years of B747 service, it was at the end of an era for the Queen of the skies! Sabena had two Boeing 747-329 Combi registered:

The OO-SGD was different in many aspects from the OO-SGC, but the most visible was the connection to the fuselage and the wings, which was already of the -400 type.
It was the last of the -300 series ever build at the Boeing plant, this for the arrival of the new -400 version.
