The rosemary line was the first to manage my daughter’s 4c hair. I immediately noticed a difference in how the products preformed in her hair after getting new bottles about two months ago. Stopped using it then.
Sis, proctor and Gamble has a terrible history Procter & Gamble is recalling 8.2 million defective bags of Tide, Gain, Ace and Ariel laundry detergent packets distributed in U.S. due to risk of serious injury. The packaging can split open near the zipper track, allowing children and other vulnerable populations to access the pods and possibly ingest them.

About two years ago , just like everyone else, I jumped on the rosemary oil thing . When I tried the oil, it was too strong and burned , that was a warning to me . I have psoriasis, and so my scalp stays irritated and sensitive. Long story, I stopped using it and washed it out . I put it down and was fortunate not to suffer hair loss. Yet, knowing how strong those products are I can see how women are losing hair . Thank you Lil sis , in how you broke all the way down ❤ and you are so right our skin , hair , and body needs like products that tailored for us .

I was a huge fan of the pomegranate line! I use to stock up during the $7 sales. They didn’t have the shampoo and conditioner so they took it upon themselves to substitute the Avocado&Tamanu shampoo conditioner. That mess made my hair feel like Velcro ,,all the webbing and breaking was out of control!! It was awful. I was blaming myself thinking, maybe it’s something i was doing, Maybe I need a trim, maybe it’s my diet!! Never did I think it was the product. Needless to say I will not be using the shampoo and conditioner anty-more!! Has anyone had issues with the leave-in and or custards? PS i went in for a trim and got my feelings hurt when I walked out with a big chop!!! Count your days Mielle and Gamble!!
Omg. I have been using the rosemary line and I have experienced breakage in the front of hair but if this drama wasn't happening, I wouldn't consider it being the products.
I was using the oil and I noticed a weird pattern of balding (in a straight line) in the front of my hair. I thought it was from my use of bleach, however, now I’m not so sure. I discontinued using the oil after hearing complaints and concerns, and I’m not seeing the line of breakage anymore. There is still a small bald patch that I’m working on growing back by using good ol’ castor oil. I wish I would have taken pics. Here I was using the oil frequently to PREVENT breakage. 😩
I stopped recently when i noticed my hair started to look and feel like a brittle pad and clumps of hair started to come out. I even got a patch in my hair. The reason why PG wanted it was to get that black purse. They were losing money with Pantene, Black women were no longer using Pantene etc. PG also owns Shea Moisture, i stopped using those products too when my hair started to feel dry.
@@truthabovelies I’m just wondering why they would want to self sabotage their own money. To me it seems like they changed the ingredients (to be all inclusive), took shortcuts but didn’t realize it would affect their money (the Black dollar). Bad plan if so… Karma

Ok, time for the real news! Mielle Organics is no longer! Procter and Gamble now owns what was once that company. The problem lies in the lack of transparency on the part of the FOUNDERS of Mielle Organics... the husband and wife team. Once P&G got their mitts on the product, they changed the "composition" of the ALL of the products. There are many "substitutions for what were once original, organic products. Large conglomerates line P&G are all about the "bottom line" and will chemicalize products for longer shelf lifes and lower overhead. So just know that P&G DOESN'T CARE ABOUT US, THEY JUST WANTED THE WHOLE PIE!
When I saw the amount of essential oils in the viral hair oil product, I knew there was no way I was ever going to let that anywhere near my head. I have sebhorrheic dermatitis so whether it's organic or not, all that will just irritate and inflame my scalp. We don't need as much oil on our scalps as we think we do for afro hair. On the hair is fine but for the scalp, not so much.
Thank you for the video sis 😊 Hi Ladies my heart truly goes out to everyone experiencing this💔 !! I experienced this with another brand, so i know the heartache that one feels😢 Just a word of caution...We have to be more mindful of the things we are putting on our hair...or how often we're putting them. I have returned to natural, for almost 10 years now. During my natural journey, I have discovered that we have to be more aware that some products that have the word usage such as: strengthening, restoring , and repairing, these are all products that contain protein... some are stronger than others... These type of products are not meant to be used on a daily, or weekly basis. We should only be using products like this every month no more than 4 to 6 weeks. When we use products that have too much protein or clarifying products, it dries out the natural oils in our hair... causing our hair to be matted and tangled. I can relate to this from experience with myself and my girls. I recently was using another natural line because we had experienced some heat damage from a silk press... so I invested in a line by another brand that repaired your hair. In the beginning our hair felt very moisturized. I could feel the strengthening in it...but over time after using our hair started feeling dry, it was becoming matted and a tangled mess... and that is when I realized that once your hair has become healthy, you have to discontinue using strengthening hair products. Focus more on moisturizing. Another example : when we all were obsessed with shea moisture coconut and hibiscus line, I didn't realize in my earlier years of transitioning ,that every product in the line contains protein ...😮and that was was drying our hair. I'm not saying that the product is not good it's just some products are not meant to use daily. I hope this helps someone. Please keep in kind after using clarifying shampoos or strengthening deep conditioners you're supposed to follow up with a moisturizing shampoo or conditioner. So , lastly we just need to be careful of the ingredients in our products before we put them in our hair & trying to many products too close together...we have to give our hair time to adjust to a brand before introducing something else. I have autoimmune disorders that lead to hair loss so I have to be cautious as to what i use.

I had only used the Mielle rosemary oil twice and was shocked when my edges started thinning so quickly. I threw the product in trash. I am now old school product only. I grease and massage my scalp twice a week and buy shampoo and conditioner from Dollar Tree. Along with drinking lots of clean water, and taking high quality vitamins and minerals, getting my ends trimmed every six weeks, my hair is much healthier, and longer now.
Bottom line is the products changed after the ownership changed. Anyone that used the products in the beginning should have noticed a difference in the product before we were even aware of the selling of the company. The two products I used were watery and not the same consistency so I discontinued my use. That was a few years ago. So I’m not surprised at any of this! This happens whether you are natural or relaxed. The same thing happened with a black owned relaxer company that was a staple a few decades ago.
I started using Mielle products on my daughter's hair when she was 3 years old. It seemed to do wonders in her hair, it was mid-back length. She just turned four and now her hair is a TWA. Her hair was just coming out, I was so distraught. Now I am on the journey to grow it back healthy and strong.

I have used mielle pomegranate and honey hair smoothie in the past, and I haven't experienced any negative side effects. Maybe, as others have said that it's a new formula. It's been almost a year since I made the transition to mostly homemade hair products. I use 100% Africian Black soap for shampoo, homemade conditioner, and duck fat or beef tallow with essential oils for my hair now.
I am one to research ingredients because I have a lot of sensitivities. One of the things I know for sure is that essential oils can be irritants for some. And the other chemicals don’t help. I just gave Mielle a try over the summer. I personally didn’t see any issues nor did my man, but it’s also too soon to tell. Great video!
I bought the shampoo and conditioner. My hair felt dry-stripped of everything. Even after the conditioner. I charged it to the game and threw the bottles in the trash. I’m already struggling with menopause hair thinning. I did NOT need Mielle to take out the rest of my hair!

I stopped buying hair products for the most part. I buy shampoo, conditioner, and Blue Magic hair grease. Otherwise I make my own products. The Benzoic Acid in Mielle’s products is part of the preservative system, which prevents mold and bacteria from growing in your shampoo. Without preservatives, we’d face much bigger issues with contamination. The concentration of the preservatives is likely around 1%, so in an 8-ounce bottle of shampoo, that’s only about 0.08 ounces of preservative - and the Benzoic Acid is just a portion of that. I’ve seen a lot of panic with people claiming their hair is falling out from the entire product line. While I don’t know the founder personally, as a creator of hair and skincare products, I can say that this kind of backlash is particularly harmful to small, Black-owned businesses. Not every business shares the same goal - some want to grow and sell, others want to remain independent. But when the community reacts this way each time a Black-owned brand sells, larger companies may hesitate to invest in these brands. That hesitation could lead to the familiar cycle of claiming lack of representation. A major reason why Black businesses struggle or fail is often due to a lack of financial support, and reactions like this give off crab in the barrel vibes, whether intentional or not.
@@sispeepgame I hear you… I personally would prefer to stick with small business to ensure quality. This company p&g is known for deceiving its customers with false labeling. I don’t believe Monique was intentionally trying to harm Black women. I believe it’s the bigger corporations that could care less about us…
@@Urbanebony I totally understand your concerns but can I keep it absolutely 💯 sister to sister 😉 if quality is your concern a lot of small businesses do not have the proper quality and control protocols. That’s not a race thing, it’s a capability issue so I would suggest when looking for us smaller brands and I am in that group, if you can ask the founder “Do you practice GMP?” and they are unaware of what that stands for I would reconsider or at least know what you’re getting into. 🙂 GMP stands for good manufacturing practices and these things can be done at home so there’s no barrier of entry preventing them from being able to do that. A sign that someone is not practicing would be you seeing them in a video using styrofoam plates and plastic spoons to make products. 🙂 Hope that helps.
@@sispeepgame the problem is the corporation, not the owner individually. You can’t trick and hurt people. Facts are facts peoples hair is falling out.
There’s another RUclipsr named Mayowa’s World that speaks on this, and there are people that know the founder in the comments speaking on unscrupulous behavior and business practices (one involving school children), and instances of lack of bedside manner involving customers and their reviews online. I also remember when the products came out a lot of people were speaking on how it left a tingling feeling, and then believing that it meant the product was working, but I also feel that initial tingling they raved about could have been their scalps/skin becoming irritated from the products, and eventually causing excessive hair shedding and hair fall over time. I think people can mistake tingling for “it’s working!” When it can be the scalp telling you “I don’t like this at all” some people also said the products were strong and contained essential oils, which can be irritating unless diluted (even though they are supposedly diluted in the formula). It’s a shame so many women may have to start their hair journey over again. This reminds me of the DevaCurl situation all over again

Part of me doesn’t know if these companies are buying out self made companies to purposely ruin them and eliminate the threat. These big companies probably don’t need the money that a smaller company is making. They do need them controlled though. It’s like they want to make sure they are capped at how much they will be able to succeed. This even happened to a family own laundry product business and the product is not the same anymore. I get people selling their business to get that big check. But everything they worked for goes down hill after. If they didn’t have something special, these companies wouldn’t have wanted to buy it. But after they buy it, they drive it into the ground and they don’t care. Can you imagine some billionaire bully that money is nothing to wouldn’t mind buying a company just to be the one to ruin it so they can sleep better at night not being threatened by brilliant entrepreneurs thinking they can have a rising product?

The thing is is that some of these products have too much protein for our hair which will then make your hair hard and break off.that’s more than likely the issue. I’m also not sure if rosemary needs a carrier oil but it could potentially be that as well. They didn’t necessarily have to change their product

That whole bottle is like pure essential oils which can cause irritation to skin.

A sign that someone is not practicing would be you seeing them in a video using styrofoam plates and plastic spoons to make products. 🙂 Hope that helps.

The only 2 lines that work for me is the blue Hawaiian Ginger line but it’s high in perfume. The best line for me is the Mango Tulsi shampoo and conditioner and I still switch up sometimes and use other brands as well. My hair is very protein sensitive. I read all ingredients. Buy black owned. Once they sell out they change the recipe to be cheap.
The rosemary oil did make my scalp itch but not burn. I still use Miguel but I go on Amazon and use her almond mint oil.
