I agree! While Cullen is universally hailed as THE definitive Prime, Chalk doesn't get enough credit for the role since Beast Wars and The Unicron trilogy! Chalk was the first Prime I've heard since the days since Armada!

David Kaye is in LA now, he no longer do his voice-over work in Vancouver since he left in 2007.

I always got a chuckle out of how they handled Tidal Wave in this game.
In the anime he was already using his recolor design, and was only marginally taller than Megatron.
In this game, he uses his original colors, and is as big as Fortress Maximus from RiD 2000

Gary Chulk and David Kaye two guys that really deserve more love then their getting with how even though they haven’t played their respected characters on tv sense late 2005 or 2006 they continue to lend their voices to creators for cameos and its wonderful to me

I love Garry Chalk’s voice for Optimus Prime. He should voice Optimus Prime in the Transformers Netflix Series instead of Jake Foushee. Because Jake Foushee is a Peter Cullen wannabe.

10:49 funnily enough that sort of thing happened in Beast Wars II except instead of him being Earth his energy was in the core of the earth and if it was extracted without care it would’ve destroyed the planet
Frenzy is not classified as a Minicon, Frenzy was originally a cassette bot for Soundwave, but was changed to be a minion for Barricade. Regardless, he is still a "Decepticon" not a Minicon. As for the girl in Transformers ROTF Alice, she was Decepticon Pretender. Which are Decepticons who can take organic forms like a human. However, not all Decepticons are Pretenders, only certain ones are. At least, I think so. But all in all, to answer your question, no Frenzy and Alice are not Minicons.
I would love for you to play the War for Cybertron games, didn't know you were a TF fan.

Garry Chalk and David Kaye will always be my Optimus and Megatron. I grew up with Beast Wars and watched all the way through Armada. Cullen and Welker are great but I just don’t have the same personal connection. I hope to see these two reprise their roles one day. Also, so awesome that you got Garry Chalk to be in your video!

I swear this game deserves sequels and games made to feel like it because it seems pretty damn good for a transformers game.
also, Gary Chalk and David Kaye were my Optimus and Megatron when they played them in the unicron Trilogy and I think they're super underrated at least for those roles. If Gary sees this, thanks for the childhood, I think I rewatched every episode of the trilogy at least 4 times with Cybertron being easily 8

Is it just me or the graphics and modeling look REALLY good for a PS2 game? Especially a 2003 PS2 game! Also the walking animations seems more 7th gen than 6th, since a lot PS2 third person games only has like 8 movement animations that they just snap into place.

I interviewed the project manager for this game in 2017 as a school project, lost the audio files but would love to call him up again and redo the interview for my own sake haha
David Kaye was the best Megatron.
Which is why I found it infinitely hilarious when I heard him as Optimus in the 2007 cartoon.
This game is literally the one game that I really can’t get bored with. I’m 19 and it’s been probably like 11 or 12 years since I played it for the first time. And even in recent years, I found out a new things. Like there are 3 Decepticlone dropships that, if you manage to get in them, bring you to a mini-con without you having to fly to them yourself. Or the fact that you can actually operate the turrets in the Pacific Island level. And entertaining stuff that happens just by chance, like firing missiles at certain enemies and they fly across the map. And just countless other things, and that’s what always brings me back to the game. Even after beating the game you can have just so much fun with certain mini-cons and I never get tired of it. There’s so much other fun stuff I could say but I don’t want this comment to be even longer, so in my opinion 11/10 game, I just hope my PS2 doesn’t decide to die one day

Transformers is something I’ll never get sick of even when it gets a bad representation like Most of the movies besides the 1986 film of course! But also the 2007 film, Dark of the Moon and Bumblebee (because I like those a lot) and some of the toons. The 1984 series is still my favorite because I just love it extremely so, Prime, Beast Wars, Animated, And Most of the games I still like too. Transformers the game while being short carries lots of nostalgia for me because I loved the original film and then immediately jumped on the game after seeing the film. Revenge of the Fallen the game is one I find to be extremely underrated, challenging, and genuinely fun at many times. And who could forget the aligned War for Cybertron games? Until they we’re killed by Dark Spark... Devastation is also pretty fun... still waiting for a sequel. I can’t wait to see your Avengers review! I didn’t buy the game but I watched a full playthrough and by the end I was extremely happy I didn’t waste $60. Btw the girl Decepticon in human disguise from ROTF is called a “pretender”, I believe they’ve been around since the 80’s or 90’s. Everytime you upload you brighten up my day and today is no different. Thank you

Uh Armada the one show that had Starscream as a badass.
Starscream was pretty badass in "Transformers: Prime" and it's sequel, "Transformers: Robots In Disguise"[2015]. Sure, he was still Megatron's punching bag, but he got plenty of moments to shine.
Glad to hear Mr. Chalk still worthy being a Prime and Primal.

I've always considered this game to be a hidden gem on PS2. I always liked the atmosphere of the locations, the search for new minicons and the simple yet solid gameplay.

Completely the same. Armada Optimus is my childhood Optimus, and he's also my favorite Optimus Prime design. -Which is why Hasbro better freaking not cancel that Armada Optimus figure they teased a year, or two ago.- In fact, I love ALL the character designs in that series, and I absolutely adore Starscream in Armada. His arc was amazing, and Megatron was SUCH a respectable villain, too
I still regret to this day selling all of my Minicons. They sure couldn't do much, but I loved the little guys.

I remember this game. I played it when I was like 8 but since I didn’t understand English at the time (English is my second language) I didn’t get very far. I completed a few levels but not many but I didn’t mind. It was fun to blow up robots and use different kinds of weapons and autobots. And then replay it whenever I reached the point where I didn’t know how to progress further.
Your video made me laugh so hard. Keep up the amazing work and I looked forward to whatever content you make in the future. :)

The fact that this is locked to PS2 is why I've kept my childhood Fat PS2 alive! I remember discovering this game through a demo of the first level and falling in love while I explored to see how far up the river side I could go and finding a Minicon out there :)
I love seeing people talk about this game! I grew up playing it after I first discovered it as a demo in Driver 3 behind a cheat code, I replayed again last year and it's still one of my favourite games
Fun Fact: this game DID have a subtitle: Prelude to Energon, but they dropped it to cash in on the movies.

Fun Fact: the second Starscream fight in the arctic was originally going to be Demolishor.
Also Fun Fact: the human girl transformer is a type of transformer called a "pretender" and they were originally toys that were released in the ass end of the G1 toy line in the late 80s early 90s. I'm serious, go look them up. They also made somewhat of a comeback in the Titans Return toy line as well IIRC.
Tidal wave's boss battle gave me ptsd as a kid. I have the soundtrack for the game on my phone and every time I play that boss theme I immediately become tense.

Oh hell yeah, this is one of the best TF games period. You highlighted some of the best moments, but I wish you showed more of the weapons. The sticky mines, ribbon beam, twister, discord, they are all so fun. Also the cheat codes with infinite stealth and such breathe a whole new life into it. Plus, the commander mode shakes up the location of the mini-cons, which gives it great replay value.
dude you are my hero for getting Gary Chalk to be on your show. i love Peter Cullen but it was Gary's Optimus that got me started with Transformers.

Yes David Kaye and Garry Chalk are excellent voice actors that are more than Worthy of carrying the torch for Frank Welker and Peter Cullen as they exude their Prestige into their own voices! Never taking you away but adding to it!
