I had such a great experience 10 years ago as a single tourist, and I'm so glad I found this channel - your videos illustrate the culture in a way others don't. I can't wait to come back and bring my wife.
Merci for another delightful video. You know when Colleen swoons and Antoine conducts his symphony, the restaurant is a winner! I always appreciate the food descriptions and putting the names and locations of the places.
I tried cafe dalyarac last week because of your video. Very nice cafe. Good location. Fair price. Good food. And most importantly they open after lunch time. I came back the next day. Thank you🥰🥰
Wait, not a pianist - a conductor in this post 😂 l think the two of you are the best at these types of posts❤ And, l have been watching travel videos for over 40 years! Thank you so very much. Ooops, merci!
We’ve been in Paris for 4 days . And you are right , the food closest to the tourist attraction is not good. But keep 4 or 5 blocks away , and the food is amazing. Mamaia’s near the Arc de Triomphe is amazing and La Procope next to La Jacobine was the best meal we’ve had . La Jacobine will be our dinner tomorrow night. The wife want the French onion soup you recommended.
Le Petit Samaritain was on my own list! I think I might check out Cafe Dalayrac too. My plane boards in 7 hours to Paris and your channel has helped tremendously.
@@TheFurlongFamily unfortunately, I did not stop by the restaurants recommended. My trip was overall a good trip. 4 days in Paris, 12 days in Vierzon visiting family, and then 4 days again in Paris. Almost got pickpocketed on the metro at Trocadéro station. Jsut be more aware of your surroundings especially when boarding the train. They’ll sneak up on you. Also they tried pickpocketing in the parks near the Eiffel Tower. Overall the food was delicious.
@@TheFurlongFamily we didn’t do much brasserie food. I was with family who had toddlers so it was hard to find time to do a good sit down meal. We went to lots of bakeries near our hotel, beef tartare from a place called Crucial. Had good easy lunch from La Famille (lots of office workers here during lunch) and it had a good view of the Eiffel Tower when sitting at their patio. We had good ramen at both Kodawari Ramen locations (have to reserve seats on the Skeepit App) and Crepes at Crêperie Little Breizh were very good
Thanks again for your videos, really useful, I am arriving now 27th September to Paris and will use many of your recommendations. I have a question regarding restaurants in Paris. When you reserve (I am trying to use Google Maps to do it) do you use a special app? Reservations are only for dinner or also for lunch? Or lunch is just arriving early tactic? Thanks a lot
I'm adding these to my list! One of our longtime favorites near le Louvre le Soufflé, 36 rue du Mont Thabor. Soufflé for entrée, soufflé for main, soufflé for dessert. Yum!
Many years ago, we stayed at Hotel du Continental 30 rue du Mont - Thabor ( in fact, for 3 or 4 different trips!) and ate at le Soufflé…aahhh, the chocolate soufflé

I love this idea! Sometimes it's not feasible to go from a museum or site to a recommended restaurant across town, especially when you're hungry, so this is perfect. Plus it's a challenge to find someplace not super touristy around those spots so these are awesome.
Very enjoyable episode. Good job featuring eateries near the Louvre as it encourages museum visitors to go out of the louvre for a meal. All look like good suggestions by les frenchies. Another excellent cafe for lunch is A Jean Nicot at 173 rue Saint-Honoré. Excellent food and very good prices.

Have you tried La Brasserie de l'Isle Saint-Louis right behind Notre Dame and across the footbridge. It's absolutely wonderful. Their gewurztraminer is brilliant. They also specialize in cassoulet. I recommend it to everyone I know is going to be in Paris. After you can wander down to Berthillon's for the best ice cream in the world.
