3 Body Problem, Netflix TV Series, Premise: During the Chinese Cultural Revolution (1966-1976), astrophysicist Ye Wenjie experiences the brutal murder of her father and is subsequently banished to a remote and secret radar base in rural China because of her scientific background. Years later, after she finds an opportunity to send a message into space, she receives an unexpected answer. Ye Wenjie decides to ignore the warning she received about further communication and calls on the Trisolarian alien civilization to visit Earth. Together with the US billionaire and environmental activist Mike Evans, she sets up a secret organization with the help of which the Trisolarians prepare their arrival hundreds of years in the future. Humanity is now facing its greatest threat to date, but it also has centuries to prepare for a foreseeable invasion. Authorities, scientists and militaries around the world begin to work together to use innovation and strategy to protect human civilization from the consequences of the arrival of the Trisolarians.
Yeah but who does Ser Davos work for? They trying to say the UN has a spy agency? Doubtful.
The preeminent spy agency is the CIA, though MI5 and Mossad are pretty fucking good. Nevertheless, they lack the near endless resources that the CIA has. And the CIA has access to info agencies like the NSA. So Mossad and British intelligence are greatly buffered by the strength of the CIA.
James Bobd exaggerates almost everything while the CIA is rarely exaggerated in films. That also means their gross incompetence is accurate portrayed sometimes. Same with their highly illegal activities
Sounds so much better than the Netflix summery thank you.

ANYONE running a scam, comes prepared with every trick and form and I.D. and prepared phone number and references and all of that. And as believable as the real thing, certainly to the sort of scrutiny a man standing on a dock could make.
That is what a scam is, or at least a successful one. The ONLY acceptable response is non-committal and then immediately approaching your superior officer and debriefing.
ANYONE who did ANYTHING ELSE would instantly discredit themself with any legitimate approach, they would reveal themself as a credulous fool who wasn't worth the time of day.
And IN FACT, in the reality of the scenario, he is standing in a naval yard. There are MP's there who take their job deadly serious, and he is an officer charged with a Duty to the Crown, approached by a man out of Uniform, on a naval base, who is making funny statements.
He would raise his hand at the MP's, they would double over, and he would say "This fellow is accompanying us to the Officer of the Day".
Getting that close to that boat without the MoD plod cunts and the Provost wouldnt happen.
They already know who he is and why he's there.
I couldn't come up with a better way to handle the situation than what you wrote. Doing anything except confirming his identity with a superior officer means you have decided to dismiss everything you were taught about security. Except a uniform doesn't mean much. If they have a fake ID you can also get a uniform at the commissary. Don't even need an ID.
@@michaelblaes9847 it's a touch harder in the UK.
The fact is he wouldn't be on the base without having been vetted at least partially.
@@michaelblaes9847 I was merely referring to my own experience. I know what would happen to me, if I walked onto a vessel or station, in mufti, and tried talking to an Officer OR a rating. When you have to do it, the first person you speak to, goes straight into "Where is the Officer" mode, they don't care about what you have to say, they want you off their hands INSTANTLY, and into the system. In fact, you never even get CLOSE to being ON the station, you can't, they are set up to preclude it. If you WERE to appear there out of place, uniform, the rest, it would be so out of place as to trigger warnings and action.
Even on a civilian Maritime Marine crewed vessel, a stranger trying to talk to the crew, gets no assistance AT ALL and an escort to the officer. Again, I have done it and it is just the natural progression.
Yes anyone in Uniform may be an imposter, but some things you have to take on face value. It isn't like in the movies, where someone climbs over the wire and kills a soldier and gets into their uniform. I can't believe that would work, in the light of day.
@@jediknight1294 In my experience, on the Stations that have the atomic powered vessels, no one walks about out of uniform, without an escort, even after you have been cleared in, you have to wait for an escort just to cross the parking lot. But that's just what I was told and saw, and was expected to follow, maybe other times it has been different.
The US ports, are SHARPLY divided that way, civilian and Merchant Marine here, military there, and the line is clear and bright, with lights and signage, they come running if you make a mistake. Then someone fills in a report, and sends it to your skipper, and he is expect to take official notice and send them a report on the disciplinary proceeding.
Never happened to me, but it did happen to my mates on occasion, and THEN you are entered into their little list, and people are waiting for you at every checkpoint, according to them. They were searched every time they went anywhere, and questioned, and not in a friendly way.
I thought at the time that this had been done so the rest of us got the message, but it may just be their prudent experience, someone who can ignore all instruction and signs like that, is probably a problem.
Whenever we took freight to a military port, our captain and officers made it clear that anyone with anything illicit was going to be handed over and damned. And most of the ships I was on had older, sensible family men, and never had a problem. One time I was ill, a couple of us were, and taken off the vessel as soon as we made port, so I wasn't there when the MP's came back with sniffer dogs. :) They didn't find anything, just gave a bit of a try apparently, but the First Officer and Engineer got horribly bent out of shape about it, and gave the ship a ratting out and they DID find stuff. Two young guys, who cost themselves their pay, and their jobs.
A long time ago now. Things became too difficult post 9/11 and I got out and moved to private yachts, then the Pirates came back to the seas . . . so I got out of that too. Interesting times.
