- The DC Defenders are part of the new XFL and will start playing their home games at Audi Field, a soccer-specific stadium owned by D.C. United, in 2020. It should be interesting to see how this one pans out.

Im hype for the DC Defenders. A breath of fresh football air in DC.
I agree...something that doesn't come with a three thousand pound chain to drag around. Could actually be fun to watch.
I remembered Pep Hamilton. I met him and Jay Walker 25 years ago when they were at Howard University when they won at the time D1-AA championship. Honestly alot of people are hyped that the XFL is back so I would honestly go to one of their games
Seems like he's been in and around football for a while now...interested to see what he can do. I wouldn't mind going to one of the games myself.
Cardale Jones turned down a practice squad spot with the Dallas Cowboys to play in the XFL. The XFL’s signed quarterbacks will be making up to 500k per season.
I think the league has a real chance if they keep it during the NFL's offseason.
@@HTTR agreed
I like the idea of bringing of bringing back the XFL, but just like the AAF, I can’t see it lasting long term. I liked the XFL the one year we did have it.
I think that funding is the key here...AAF collapsed because they had no funding beyond one investor. Vince has spent some time and effort piecing this one together both from a financial aspect and structure-wise with a front office...I'm not easily impressed but if they keep this league in February I think it might work long-term.
STOOPS IS DALLAS COACH
Also xfl teams are holding their mini camps RIGHT NOW. As for Houston training camps, it was due to worker’s compensation laws, facilities, meeting opportunities, etc. I’d highly recommend you read the rules page on xfl board to see all the awesome new rules. Also, I’d recommend you look at who the commentary crew is. Enjoy!
I most definitely will look at those...I hadn't thought about the rule differences until now. I would assume the rules would be more in line with college.
HTTR® not necessarily..some are but a lot are unique and innovative
Audi Field, a very good looking stadium. A beautiful background in some seats that show monuments and nationals park. Feels very open but you feel close to the action, no matter where you sit.
Sounds appealing...thanks for the insight!
And players can come straight from highschool and bypass college as well. The NCAA is already complaining and threatening the xfl. The fact is an 18 year old quarterback can get a hundred thousand dollar contract straight out of highschool without penalty and still be eligible for the nfl draft. This is great for football all around
So i was hopefully to have a team to be excited to watch. That remains to be seen. But any chance of buying merch is TRASHED. Defenders have the hands-down most horsesht lame, ugly jerseys and logos of the whole XFL. Plain red? Just..plain....red? EVERY other xfl team has multicolor. DC sucks again.
I actually think they have one of the best logos. They were in consideration as being my favorite team in the league.
@@osaji922 ok logo is ok. color is terrible. its almost like a nod to Trump..which isint BAD..just not needed.
All I have to say is, I truly do hope that THIS Washington DC professional football team can do a HELL OF ALOT BETTER than it's current NFL counterpart!!!!!!.........REDSKINS SUCK!!!!!!
5m10s - the DC flag is based on the seal of George Washington’s family.
He's not trying to compete with the nfl. He's trying to bring back the usfl spring league. Do the research. A lot of nfl superstars didnt go to the nfl straight after college. They played spring football. One of the biggest names was Herschel Walker another was Jim Kelly. It's more college superstars in this league than you think. The NCAA all time leading rusher is in the xfl. Cardale Jones and Marquise Williams along with Aaron Murray plus others are in there.
XFL doesn't want the nfl to take their QBs. The Quarterback play is essential to a new league to succeed. The QBs can leave after the season is over. I'm glad they are blocking them to protect their league.
XFL season is a week after Superbowl is over.
Rahim Moore is on DC Defenders and he use to play for the Denver Broncos.
