Trying to blame pensioners now for voting Labour on mass without the evidence to back it up. Instead of attacking pensioners you should be sticking up for them as this effect is all & our elderly parents.
As a 72 year old, it has been plain to me over the last couple of years that the elderly are not wanted. We have served our purpose and are now just a burden to society in many peoples minds. Never mind the support many of us, including myself and many of my friends, give in the way of childcare which enables our children to continue to work. Never mind the fact that many of us with tiny private pensions are already paying tax on an income just over the tax threshold. Never mind that, like me, we have worked from 17 to 68. I am proud to still manage to 'pay my own way'. No foreign holidays, takeaways, new car for me, just living carefully within my means, as I have always done whilst all around me observing the many who have never worked a day in their lives but have all of the above 'luxuries' in their lives, along with 'incomers' who are made to feel welcome, which I am not. This country is rotten to the core.

About time , there is a social audit by local citizens every month, that checks election promises VS delivery and a right to recall the failing elected official.
Elected officials and bureaucrat compensation and perks should be adjusted in proportion with Just 2 metrics - Rise in home rents and Rise in Food costs....for every 1% rise in these 2 indicators, an equal REDUCTION in pay n perks of those in power, would be a FAIR start. A 3rd metric would be - Link any increase in pay and perks directly to the increase in Basic state pension rates!!!

There may be some in that category, but the vast majority of pensioners have just their small pension - currently a full pension, after full payments into the system over a lifetime, is only £885 a month - and that to cover everything.

Pensioners should have been working most of their life earning money and saving/investing to provide for their future. Means testing the fuel payment is great, so many don’t need it
