- Take a tour of our 2020 Lance 1985 that we purchased at Princess Craft RV in Round Rock, Texas. The Lance 1985 is 23'3" in total length with a dry weight around 4900 pounds with a loaded weight of 5700 pounds. Our trailer features added options of electric smart jack, electric stabilizers, rooftop cargo rack, lift kit and convertible sofa. We also had Princess Craft RV add a 190 watt solar panel with solar controller, a 2000 watt inverter with built in lithium battery charger and Max Air fan covers. Finally we had them install our two 100 amp hour Battleborn lithium batteries.

I’ve watched a ton of RV videos over the last 6 years. That’s the best one I’ve ever watched. The presentation was excellent and the trailer features were very well explained. Kudos to you.
Thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words
Put tape on his mouth next time, Patty! hee hee. This is a beautiful camper trailer! Wow, I love it - the best floor plan I have ever seen. I love the front bedroom with plenty of room to walk around each side of the bed - no crawling over each other. Your kitchen is well appointed - with marvelous sink and faucet and oven, too! The dining area is so spacious and comfortable-looking. And the bathroom is to die for - no split bath on each side of a hallway like so many others. Your shower is lovely - love the walls. I looked at one expensive trailer with an 8" bathroom sink!! Your sink is so large you stated you can wash your hair in it. They certainly did not skimp on either kitchen sink or bathroom sink - both nice and spacious. I hope you will be enjoying your new trailer for many happy adventures to come. Bless both of you. Thanks for showing us.
Just came across this video. I didn’t realize you said bye-bye to your TAB 400. I must say, this is a huge difference from the 400! Now you have me thinking again. 🤔 I just might have to check these out now.
Very nice, glad you're happy with your trailer. We still love our Tab 400. Not planning on a change, in fact bought the Walker tent, got it up in an hour the 1st time. Happy trails.
I've been looking for a trailer for going full time, and this just made the short list. Thanks for the comprehensive tour!
You are welcome! Good luck in your search.
Absolute best tour we have seen. Seriously considering this RV now. Seems like exactly what we want. Thank you. Happy/safe journeys!
Thank you so much Ken! When we were looking at this trailer we could not find many indepth owners videos so we really wanted to put one out for others. We are loving the trailer after 2 months of ownership
Wowz guys! I love your new Lance! 👍 So roomy! I'm sure the pups love all that extra space too!
Thank you! They are loving having a place to play when we are inside the trailer.
Thanks for sharing your home on wheels with us. Much appreciated. Lance makes some great products. Congrats to you four. Nice choice.
Thank you! We are loving it still.
THE best tour of a travel trailer I've seen, thanks!
Thank you so much!
What a sweet rig! Love all the storage, dinette, deep sinks and walk around bed. The bathroom is huge! Truman and Bess look really comfortable too. Thanks for sharing it with us. Safe travels!
Thank you Diane! I think we are all loving the extra space.
Wow! This would be it for me if I already had rv experience. Plenty of everything and comfort galore! Congratulations!! Well deserved and prayerfully well thought out financially. Enjoy and thank you for sharing. Now, I am off to bed. Stayed up to watch the tour. Great video! Blessings!
Thanks so much!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So happy for you guys!! Very thorough review, felt like I was there doing a walk-thru! You'll be enjoying 'Tex and Montana' a very long time #ondowntheroad. I can tell the pups love it, too - so much room!! Again, congratulations on what is definitely the best news in 2020 so far! Love y'all, safe travels. ~💜
Thank you! Truman and Bess are definitely loving it.....and so are we!
Congratulations on your new home you can really see the quality that Lance puts into their trailers.. I'm glad to hear you got the tundra.. happy safe trails...
Thank you! We are very happy with the Lance and it seems very well built
Excellent video. Thank you for explaining everything about this trailer.
I’ve been waiting a long time for this video from you. Thank you. Have fun !
Hope you enjoyed it!
Beautiful camper! Thanks for the tour and Happy Trail!
Thanks for watching!
I love this trailer!! Thank you for sharing with us!!👍🏻👍🏻
Our pleasure! We love it too!
Oh!!! So nice! Thank you for the Great tour! Exactly what I'm look for!
Thank you! 7 months now and we still love it!
Have been watching your videos for awhile. Love this one. Found what I am looking for. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome! Thank you!
Congratulations on your new Lance. We so love our Lance 1995. And thanks for the tip on the R1 bike helmets. We got ours and so love them.
Aren't those bike helmets amazing! We absolutely love them.
Beautiful RV with lots of storage and finishing touches. Congratulations on your new RV!!!!
We definitely love the storage space and openness of it.
Very nice RV. Like both the 1985 & 1995 models. Thanks for sharing...very informative.
Thank you! We were looking at both models and would have been happy with either. This was the model they had on the lot when we purchased last June which is why we ended up with the 1985.
Not hardly any owners videos, so thank you for this. We have a 2019 1995, and absolutely love it!
That is great to hear! We are loving ours so far. The dinette is so comfortable and roomy.
Have a nearly identical 2020.5 1985 equipped almost the same with the Roadster interior and jackknife bed. Alas, after the second camping trip the slide failed and our Lance dealer said it was the fourth 2020 they had with this problem. They have to replace the entire “H” slide mechanism because of a faulty installation at the Lance factory. We are told we will be without the trailer for at least 8 weeks. Hope this does not happen to you. Check on your bathroom wall where the door slides across that you have no sharp screws poking through that could scratch the back of the door when it slides open. That was also another issue we noticed. Great video and I trust you will have many great camping outings in your new Lance!
BEST tour yet! Thank you. :)
Thank you!
OMG OMG OMG!!! This is bigger than my apartment! This is Caravanning at it’s most luxurious!!! I’m not sure what to say only to congratulate you on your major purchase of abundance! Enjoy this to the fullest you both deserve it! Wow! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much Peter! We are loving it so far. And so do Truman and Bess!
Beautiful guys. I love everything about it it and especially love the windows - you get so much natural light. Best of luck with it! - MJ
Thanks so much!
Congrats. We too just bought our 1995 Lance. Beautiful rig, you’ll enjoy it.
We are loving ours! Congratulations on yours!!
Congratulations on the new Lance! I have the 1475S and absolutely love it! Enjoy your travels.
Thank you!
I really enjoyed the walk through of your trailer..Well done!! Happy and Safe Travels!!

That, was a very through tour. Good job pointing out features and finish quality. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great tour of your new rig. Real nice! What a great looking trailer. Glad for you guys
Thank you so much! We are loving it.
Storage, storage and more storage! I love the dinette and walk around queen bed. Nice!!! 👍👍👍
Thank you! Yes, we are loving all of the storage in this trailer.
Our next camper will have a walk around bed, no matter what!
Well done! Thanks for this review and a wish for many years of travel happiness!
Thank you kindly!
Very, very nice! As you noted, you can damage the door or awning if you don't close the door before extending or retracting the awning. I bent the top lip of the door with the awning on my 1575. It had been in storage all winter and when I opened the trailer up in the spring, I had forgotten about the procedure. Ouch! Afterwards, I made a warning sign and taped it to the console next to the awning control button. Sure you will love the Lance.
Wonderful review of your new home on wheels. Many great features. Thanks for sharing .
Thank you! We are loving it
Thank you for the owner review of this trailer. I have been considering purchasing this Lance trailer; it has almost all of the features that I would like in a small trailer.
However, it's very expensive at $38,---- compared to other trailers that size. In your comments, there were quite a few saying the manufacturer doesn't do good quality control and that there is frequent slide failure! That is is very off-putting!!. I wouldn't want to spend a lot of money on what I thought was a quality product and have these issues.
Hoping yours is one of the good ones.
Love the walk-around bed and the whole layout is great! Love all the storage esp in the bathroom. We have a 2004 Dutchman, we love it, but yours sure is luxury. haha Happy Travels! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! We are loving it
Congrats on your new trailer! Many good trips to be had in this beauty! ✌🏼
Thanks so much!
Very nice unit. Sure has a lot of nice to have's. I know you both will enjoy it. Congrats on your 2020 Lance RV trailer. Stay safe.
Thank you so much!
Love it! I enjoy watching you guys. Very informative
Thank you Stephanie!
Getting to the bed and the bathroom with the slides in are major considerations! I really like the shower curtain on the tracks as well. I hadn’t seen that before. Congratulations on your new home!
Thank you!
Nice trailer! Lots of storage and it looks pretty darn comfy! Enjoy it!!!
It really is! We have been in it for that past two weeks and we are loving the extra space.
I have to say I like the details and the workmanship that freshwater tank drain neat. I looked at the Lance website when I watched your Texas dealer videoI, I’m personally not really enthused with the floor plans, but as I say the workmanship is consistent with Lance product because I’ve seen many of their pickup campers. Enjoy your new trailer and I’m excited for you get out there and winter camp!
The Lance certainly is a beautiful trailer! Congratulations Patrick and Patty! ~ Maria
Thank you so much Maria!
Thank you for sharing. We love Matt from Matt's RV review!!! Your trailer is very nice.
Thank you! Matt is a great guy!
Love it! So nice! It comes close to being perfect!
It certainly does for us! Thank you!
Awesome
Thank you for sharing
Love Matt even reviews
So happy for you guys
Thanks for watching!
Congratulations too you both. I love my Tab 320, but your Lance is really something
We have a 2018 1/2 Lance 1575. It has the exact same Air Conditioner that you have. We have two Honda EU 2000i generators with the parallel kit. Turns out just one Honda will run the Lance Air Conditioner without a soft start kit. These generators I converted to propane with the "Hutch Mountain Kit" and they still works fine. The good thing is you don't need to carry around smelly, dangerous gasoline. By not putting gasoline in our Honda it has an indefinite shelf life and it always ready. The power went out when I was in West Virginia last winter, there was two feet of snow on the ground the single Honda on propane worked fine. One Honda will not run everything at once but two Honda's will and we found that two Honda's in parallel are quieter than one because they just run in eco mode all the time.
How often do you have to change oil on your Honda when it is on propane? And how long can you run a Honda out of 20 lb.?
Thanks for a great walkthrough.
PATTY YOU DID GREAT! 😊😊😊
I really enjoy the way you go through in detail of everything involved with the trailer. This is what I need to see in consideration of getting one of these trailers. I really like the one you got but I like a kitchen outside. Again thanks for your sharing.
We almost went with the model 2075 because it has an outdoor kitchen option which we would love to have.
We love the interior storage of our Lance 1995. The slide out drawer in the outside storage is amazing. Love the full bathroom and yes, we can use all in our trailer with the slide in. Love the quality of the Lance too, unlike any other trailer.
We are really impressed with how much storage Lance has in their trailers.
Nice job Patrick! Can’t wait to get ours.
We are loving ours!
Nice camper! we waffled between the 1985 and 1995, decided on the 1995. Love it so far!
We originally were looking at the 1995 but couldn’t find one so we went with the 1985. Both are great layouts
This is an excellent Review, one of the best reviews I have watched!👍😊🐕Jim and my Norwich Rico!!
Thank you so much!
Congratulations on your new Lance. I have to say when i first discovered your RUclips channel your video on whether or not the T@B 400 was worth the money sold me on purchasing a new T@B 400 that will arrive in a few weeks. We are so excited to get our first RV and your videos have been inspirational and educational. I have to admit I was a bit sad when you sold Carl but you obviously have found something that perfectly suits your needs! Happy travels and hope to see you on down the road!
Congrats .... this is an amazing rig! The quality appears to be good and well thought out floor plan. Adding the solar and Lithium batteries and that 2,000 watt inverter.... you have a great base to get to Russ's 960 :) Also, WOW on that Tundra!! What a sharp outfit ... You guys deserve this set up! Happy for you! Bob
Thank you so much! We are loving both the trailer and the truck.
Love this trailer. Congratulations
Thank you!
I found this video I have not seen this yet of you showing the Lance. I love it. I live that Murphy bed. And I love the huge dinette. It’s very nice for the two of you and if you have guests and Truman and Bess. Thank you for having this video out so I can see the tour. I wanted to let you both know I just lost my mom late Saturday night do to Parkinson’s. It’s hard on us family right now. But we’ll get through it. At heady we know she’s in a happy place right now. Thank you for this video. Looking forward to watching the next video. See you both soon. On down the road.
We are so sorry for your loss Sherri! Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
@@TravelswithDelaney Thsnk you so much. I needed something that would cheer me up and I started watching your video. And it perked me right up.🤗
Love how you told your wife to do the tour of the inside & then did all the talking yourself! Lol!
She didn’t really want to do the tour and ask that I jump in as we went to make sure we got all the details into the video.
@@TravelswithDelaney You keep interrupting her, suggest u let her do about 50% of the next vid or do one alone.
@@judithmacdonald363 How entitled people feels to tell what a happily married couple should do in life or in a video
@@vinoto Lighten up a little, vinoto. Judith is just offering an idea. Keep it friendly and not sour.
Excited for this video. Congrats!
This did not disappoint! So happy for you. On our little guy max we have the smart jack. I got this cover a week after we got the trailer. You can operate the jack with it on. It has protected the electronics. Trailersphere Clever Cover for Smart Jack Custom Electric Tongue Jack Cover for Trailer, RV, Camper, Chains Holder, Plug Protector, Sun and Waterproof (Smart Jack Cover) www.amazon.com/dp/B07B4NSSF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_yKhfFbKTV4PTH
I definitely need to get the cover as soon as we get home.
What a great trailer, so many amenities! It was so nice to meet you two, the puppies, and all the other peeps at the West Yellowstone Meet-up! We just got home last night from our 2 1/2 weeks on the road. Holy Moly were there ever a lot of people out there camping or WHAT?! We had a few anxious moments wondering if we were going to find somewhere to camp or not but we discovered that if we just ignored the ”Campground Full” signs, drove on in, and whined somewhat pathetically and politely to the host it all worked out! We discovered some great places; boondocked most of the way - yay solar!
So glad to hear you made it home safe! We had planned to go to Ennis after we left West Yellowstone but couldn't find any place to camp there so we headed further north. We don't normally like making reservations when we travel but this has caused us to rethink that going forward.
Great job on this video! Most RV videos I’m out within first 3 minutes !
Congratulations on your new trailer , very nice rv. Good job on explaining features.
Thank you Roy!
What an excellent & thorough tour! Love it! Enjoy your journey! (Jane (SC)
Thank you so much!
Have learned so much from your videos over the past couple of years! Heading out for some full time traveling in our T@B 400 in about 2 weeks. Have looked at Lance's in the past and they are very nice TT's - if we go bigger the Lance 1985 will be high on our list -along with the Safari Condo F2114. Enjoy your 1985!!
Thank you! Have a great time in your 400!
Nice presentation, like this trailer. Loved the woodwork and drawers.
We are still very happy with the trailer and love it!
Oh wow - beautiful choice! I camp to be outside but sometimes it is to windy or cold to cook outdoors. You have the best of both options. That awning is WONDERFUL. As you know, the walk around bed is my favorite thing. I hope it makes you happy for a long time to come. Congratulations on a beautiful choice. Gotta tell ya, when you posted the (apparently) unplanned quick trip to Texas, I was frightened that your family had an emergency. How great to learn that it was good news instead. Now it is especially nice too see what got you down there.
Thank you!
Very nice trailer! Hope you have many great adventures with the pups!
Thanks so much!
Congrats guys. Very cool indeed👍
Thank you Mark!
I love this mini home.
Love your new trailer!! So happy for you!
Thank you! We are loving it!
@@TravelswithDelaney So much space!! I love the walk around bed, kitchen with an oven, bath and especially the awning!
Matt's 4P rating. I love it. Beautiful, well thought out trailer. Thanx 4 the tour.
Thanks for watching!
Lance is top of the line stuff. Very quality in every respect.
We have owned ours 9 months now and feel the same way. We have had some issues but most new RV's will have some issues.
Love it. Been following you guys since you had the Hummingbird which is what I have today but been liking the Lance and that may have to be my next trailer. Safe travels
Thank you!
Thank you, you answered some questions the salesman didn't know!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful
Well done! Best wishes for many years of travel happiness!
Thank you Mark! We hope you have many great years in C@rl!
Beautiful Lance. So much room.
Thank you! At 23’, it feels so open and spacious on the inside
appreciate the thorough review!
Thank you!
Thank you for your review. We are 3 in a 2019 Tab 400 and considering a Lance trailer for more space. We are extremely happy with the quality of our Tab and want to keep the same quality level.
Overall, we have been very happy with our Lance and would buy another one. The Lance quality is about as close to the T@B quality that we have seen.
Great job with the tour! Nice trailer!
Thank you!
Great trailer! We’ve had our Lance 1575 for two years now and still love it , be interesting when you compare it to the Tab in terms of build quality and workmanship. We’ve had no issues with our Lance and get nice comments wherever we go and I’m sure your going to love yours , looking forward to more videos :)
I really like that trailer. Lance does a great job on their trailers. That booth looks so inviting. I agree if I had the choice I would go with convection microwave and delete the oven. It might be worth setting a generator up on propane. I also love the idea of three 20lb propane tanks so you can go to an exchange location instead of a filling station. The only thing I didn't see was a pull-out dog bowl station lol. Really nice, congratulations to both of you. I know you will enjoy it.
It was so close to perfect except for that pull out dog station! LOL
Really nice travel trailer without getting that ultra modern feel. Its has a homey vibe. You'll be able to stay out longer. Looks like fun!
Thank you Linda! We are absolutely loving the extra space in this trailer.
Nice tour. I appreciate the detail.
Thanks for watching!
We took delivery of our new Lance 1985 in early Spring 2018, so going on 5 years now. Prior to that, we owned a Lance 1685. Ours has most all of the factory upgrades, including convertible sofa, solar, 3” raised chassis for off-roading, power stabilizers, slide-out bin in the front storage area, and more. Here are our observations:
Pros
• A big advantage: To cut costs, most RV builders place their different length boxes on the same length chassis. This results in a less-than-optimal balance over the axles. Lance builds their frames to match the box size. Consequently, the axles are at the optimum location beneath the box, balance is enhanced, and it tows like a trailer weighing much less.
• Fit and finish is excellent. Little touches like edge molding and the light fixtures are simply a cut above the competition. Quality components.
• For a 23’ trailer, it’s very spacious, tons of internal and external storage.
• Huge slide-out, comfortable, plush cushions, seats 4 adults easily. Never any mechanical problems.
• Solid roof, 40-45 gallon tanks, 4-season capable.
• Convertible sofa. It’s actually very comfy. We use it all the time.
• Dual axles - rides smoothly and tracks straight. Quality tires.
• Excellent solar charging system. We replaced the dual factory 12-volt batteries with dual 6-volt batteries. The batteries have never run down past 2/3 full, even over multiple cloudy days and overnight in cold weather.
• Walk-around bed. The crawl-over bed in our previous Lance 1685 proved to be a pain and was one of the drivers that motivated us to step up to the Lance 1985.
• Audio and TV/DVD system work fine. 6 speakers total.
• Our 2018 Ram 1500 has no trouble whatsoever towing the 1985. A ½ ton will pull this trailer no problem provided you have the correct axle gear ratio. Our previous 2007 Ram 1500 did not and it struggled.
• Initial price is high, but resale value is outstanding. We sold our Lance 1685 for more than we paid for it.
Cons
• As a rule, we’ve found that the things that malfunction are typically sourced components like the Dometic appliances, not the Lance trailer itself.
• A/C is loud. You’ll either need shore power, a generator larger than 2000 watts, or install an EasyStart soft starter. A 2000-watt generator may or may not have enough juice on start-up. We once had a pair of Generac 2000-watt generators paired in parallel (3200 watts on startup). We attempted to run both the A/C and the microwave at the same time. It fried the circuit boards on both generators. This is an issue with any trailer. Watch your wattage demands vs. supply.
• Slide-out external screws come loose. Others have noted this issue. Had to replace with larger screws.
• Changed the basic shower head to a better-quality head. Saves water, increases pressure.
• Lance customer service is just OK. However, the Lance Owners Association (LOA) is a fantastic resource for tips, advice, etc.
• The inside diameter of the rear bumper is too small to accommodate the sewage hoses. Don’t know why Lance couldn’t use a slightly larger bumper (literally, just a 1/2" larger) so that you can store the hoses inside the bumper, on the outside the trailer instead of having to put them in a sealed container in the rear outside storage compartment.
• Biggest complaint: The awning is rarely usable for two reasons. 1) It uses scissor arms to extend and retract. Sounds great on paper - no clotheslining as you walk around outside. However, if even a light-moderate breeze comes up, the awning starts to flap and risks torquing the arms and breaking them. The automatic retraction feature that senses potentially damaging winds is nice, but it retracts whenever there's the slightest breeze. There is no provision for attaching guy lines or poles to help stabilize. 2) The awning will hit the door if left open. If you try to extend or retract the awning while the door is open, you will surely damage the door, the awning, or both - significantly. In our view, this is a major design flaw. If we leave the auto-retract feature on, we can’t leave the door open. If we want the door open, we have to turn off the auto-retract feature, thus risking awning breakage if a gust hits.
Despite the cons, all in all, we love our Lance 1985 and would buy again.
I love it. Happy trails.
Thank you
A beautiful RV. I am certain you are loving it!
Thank you Liz!
Thanks for a great tour. You touched on many features that sold us on our 2020 1985. The build quality is outstanding. The quality of our previous trailers was as if they were professionally home made, always needing repair on the fly or a "project" after returning home. It's so nice to actually relax and enjoy the trailer with just routine maintenance. I had to laugh about the TP roll location in the bathroom. As soon as we started using the trailer, the wife and I said right away, 'that has got to go'. We moved it to a more convenient location. Sitting on the 'throne', it's now located on the left wall, below the forward drawer, and clear of the pocket door in the open position. Works like a charm. Happy travels to the four of you.
Thanks for that tip on the TP!! I think we will do the same thing. Did you do anything to the holes from the screws where it was installed before.
@@TravelswithDelaney I just lightly burnished them flush with the smooth handle of a putty knife. You have to look closely to see any remnant of the holes. You can always put a small dab of like-colored wood putty as part of the burnishing. Enjoy!
@@kzzigaitis848 Thank you for that! That will be my project this weekend.
What a great walk through!! ~ Brad

I can see why you like this. And obviously, both Truman and Beth are very comfortable in their new travel home. The extra bathroom space has to be really nice. Great for Boondocking as well with all the water in tank storage. I think we’re going to be following you on some grand adventures
We are really happy that we decided to make the move. It was a tough decision but one we are glad we made.
