Syncthing for Retro Consoles Is a Must Have: Sync Your Saves Between Devices

Tired of your games not syncing between devices? Syncthing has you covered. If you have several devices even your phone that you want to sync between you can. Much easier than manually moving saves each time you want to switch devices. Just another reason to pickup a device that has wifi built in to get access to this feature.

This is very cool! For in game saves, Do you use sync thing with just the roms themselves? What folder are you syncing?

I sync the saves folder itself so .config/retroarch/saves
Works great. Most wifi capable devices can have syncthing installed.

what is the og gb shaped one? is that a trackpad?

Thats the PowKiddy RGB20SX with a flat backplate I designed and printed. Files are on my ko-fi account. I have a few short videos about it. It does feel more like an og gameboy like this. Gameboy and gameboy advance are my favorite to play on the 1:1 screen. Not a track pad just a right analog stick delete plug that I printed. Makes it comfortable to hit all the buttons one handed with the right stick deleted.

i use resilio sync on my pcs, this looks the same

Probably works similar. Found out about syncthing after seeing it in some Linux based emulation devices.

Can this work on a macbook?

Yeah you can use the MacBook as a relay and sync everything to it. Or just sync both devices to each other. I like to also sync to a PC to better backup and manage my saves between devices that don't have wifi like an actual gba and these emulators.

Its on my list of video ideas. I'll make this soon. Currently testing arkos on the V10 and it doesn't have syncthing native so ill have to make the video with my rgb20sx
