Got to love free projects ❤. I call this shopping at home. Very nice
Brilliant timing Keith, I`ve just built a deck and the wife wants a couple of benches. I happen to have a few roof battens so thanks for the great idea, plans will save me a fortune compared to the prices of the furniture that the wife has been looking at.
Perfect! Thank you
Another nice frugal and functional project Keith, thanks for selflessly making the mistakes so we don't have to !
Yes, agree and also the pricing guide makes it more real. Thanks Keith.
Nice. I’m making one the same design but out of 3x2’s. My new neighbours are dismantling the garden bar that previous owners built and I get all the timber.
Love the look of the bench. That would cost £100+ from a garden centre no doubt.
cool design!
I always love your salvage projects, that's how I discovered you channel back then, remember when you did the dumpster diving for wood? anyway glad to see those happy cats cant' get enough of them
Thanks, that was a long time ago but I've not changed, still can't resist peeping in them!!!
I like it. Would also work as a hardwood bench with a higher spec finish.
I just thoroughly enjoy your designs, methods and videos, thanks 🍻
Great looking bench!
Looks great, very as you say "rustic". By quite a contemporary design, works well. Little tip, quite often roof battens are pre-treated in a blue colour. If anyone (probs only UK) orders online, make sure you don't end up with these. Unless of course you fancy a blue bench.
The bench looks great and Mickey trusts you ❤
That is one of my favorite styles of bench. You did it great justice.
Brilliant, looks great too 👍👍👍
Great value Keith. It’s nice to see people leave their mistakes in. Cheers.
Great idea Keith. And it looks good too.
Great idea.
Superb!
Great video Keith. Good idea.
Great job it looks great!
Very nice. You could also use diagonal bracing from the seat bottom to the stretcher to form sort of truss to stiffen it even more.
Great looking bench Keith 👍.
Thank you.
A fantastic build Keith, well made nice finish and the cat's like it😃😃👍👍👍
Great bench and cats!
Nice idea Keith and looks great too mate 👍🏼👌👏
Perfect use of materials to hand and a great style of bench. I did wonder why you didn’t just shove the extra piece straight through the gap instead of forcing it in at an angle but it adds to the fun. So pleased you use glues of your own choice.
Very nice project
You making mistakes has made me realise how hard I am on myself when I make mistakes with barely any experience
Nice looking bench
very good work !
Looks fantastic. Very clever use of recycled wood.
Love the catio and the bemch
Nice build. I spent about the entirety of this one not realizing it's a new video 😂 I'm catching up!
Thanks for your content! Amazing videos and... In Metrics! 😎👍
Very cool
Our cat is coming 21yrs old now and does need a little help getting in and out of our kitchen window. I built a similar thing a few years ago to help him. 👍
Lovely job, I like free - it’s my favourite price! Stay safe x
Great little build, fair play to ye.
Great build. Micky approved 🤪. My Saw stops are about 30cm min from the cut line. I have made a 'Spacer' approx 35cm long which I can use to put between the saw stop and cut line (which I can clamp), for the shorter repeat parts. It sits on a screw fastened to the side of the saw enclosure. Maybe you should consider something similar.
Great chap did u do survey of bungalow in light of drainage and roof?
Love your work shop

More Micky please 😊
I have a black and white tuxedo cat too, so am a bit (lot) biased 😸
Bit random but I’m building a bike store same size as you built for your mate Alex 7 years ago. I’ve no idea what length , size , strength hinges to get. Appreciate it if you could advise
Nice build. I like the design and rustic look, but I am a bit surprised you used a slatted top for cats to climb or sit on.
Nooice
Great job. I would have left the wood unstained so the cats can scratch it.
Have I noticed correctly you have made two of these benches? One with 90° legs and one with splayed legs as you describe in video? Do the straight legs keep it stable?
No I just made one bench with angled legs
The last view of that bench appears to show the legs as straight up?
Perspective
Does the wood preserver really make a difference in durability ?
Nice work !
Yeah it kills wood boring insects and prevents rot
Cats would have no problems jumping down or up at that height. Great bench though!
Why polyurethane glue, and not regular D4 glue?
Both are fine I just trust the pu stuff more
More cat content. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
When you realised the legs were cut the wrong way, couldn't you have just turned them over?
If he had then the tops would have been the wrong way and stuck up like horns so would have needed sanding off or cut off
Beautiful, Keith! Really fantastic work! 😃
It really turned out amazing!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks, you too!
Nice to see you make mistakes as well
