I'm in my late 40's and was so excited for my foundation to come in the mail and I'm a very fair skintone so I ordered 040 fair cool and it's so dark
So I understand what you're saying about the undertones
I had to mix in a lighter shade but it's a great foundation I love it

I have mature, large pores, and have never had a foundation work on my face. When I tried this I was shocked!! It is amazing... I highly recommend this foundation.

Why does picking out a shade is actually rocket science.... lol... the hardest thing to find...
I’m all for wider shade range and exact matches but it really did used to be so much easier just to be like “close enough” without an entire art degree to figure out what color to slap on our faces anymore.
Your skin, and I'm talking without makeup, is absolutely stunning. I mean GOALS.
I have prettty dry skin, minimal problems other than that and i LOVE this. It is my absolute favorite out of everything i own. Its so buttery silky and nothing else looks like this imo.

Hi Nikki, Thankyou for another great and honest review. I enjoyed the skin care routine also! Your skin looked amazing in this foundation (but then your skin looks great in anything! My skin is very similar to yours but I do have some slightly larger pores around my chin area and sides of nose ( which can be challenging at times-for me) and tend to get a bit dehydrated during the fall and winter months.
I'm def interested in this foundation and do intend to pick it up next week.

Is it me or does Nikki speak too fast… *at times* I have to look up quite a few things in the script…. Its so many times now…but is it just me? Does anyone have to keep checking the transcript, or rewind and listen a few times to what she said? I will obviously stay with her forever as she has a genuine, pure soul, honest and extremely high integrity, Nikki always impresses me. I hope she stays like that forever. As now its so hard to trust influencers as you dont know if they are pushing a product solely for money. It was not like that a few years ago, now it is..a lot! So I love Nikki and trust her completely watch all her video’s as she is so genuine, no bs… does’t make her channel about acting… and doesn’t make like she has the most perfect life and every product she show’s is the best..best..best, and many others…say “you have to…have to must buy it” as they are making so much money from it. There are just somethings about her that are so impressive and so real and extremely honest that it is refreshing in today’s weird and not always honest..world. She is so special I watch so many of these types of video’s and she is definitely my top person for all the reasons stated. I have the 260 which is a tiny bit too dark. And the next shade lighter is 190 which is a tiny bit too light. So I bought both and mix them. I don't usually like to mix. But I love this foundation so I will make exceptions. Both 190 light and 260 light-medium have olive undertones.
Got sample @ Sephora, color match is great. More cool tone even though I’m not cool. I’m 69 yrs. Of age w/textured skin, dry skin with large pores around nose & cheek area. Formula is beautiful, easy to blend with great coverage. Luv you tutorials!
Thank you so much for showing your skincare before foundation application, I really wish more ppl did this! I bought it during the VIB sale and it unfortunately pilled on me. I’m thinking it’s either my Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream or the Naturium Dew Glow SPF moisturizer. I’m not gonna give up on this foundation 😂

I love skin care and very interested in the Why’s and How’s of using them so thank you for explaining the steps. Also LOVE this foundation and I have mature skin and it’s looks amazing and not heavy especially since you can even apply with just my hands if I don’t want to much coverage and the Arnica is so helpful for redness or hyperpigmentation! The whole Haus Labs line is so good! Thanks for the video😊
This foundation is NOT for extreme oily skin. I bought this because someone at Sephora told me it was for my skin type. It’s not! This breaks up on my skin in one hour.

Omg I’m so going to pick up the foundation now! Can’t believe how gorgeous it was at the end of the day. I was also confused with the option because neutral didn’t look right on me (I only searched a few shades)
I was at Sephora yesterday and initially thought my my color was the 280 light/med neutral. When I swatched it, it was too dark, so naturally went down to 200, which is also labeled light/med neutral. Got a sample, came home and it looks too yellow on me, almost jaundice. I'm so confused with the color matches.....The foundation looks fantastic on you. I think the trick to this is less is more. I will test again tomorrow and put 1/2 the amount that I used today and see if that makes a difference.
Same here… I took 200 as it looked like a good colour match but the foundation oxidises and gets lighter. It’s also too yellow and strangely too light for me.
Yea why would both shades be labeled the same?? I find it confusing as well
It actually helps to see your skin prep before makeup. Idk what products to use bc sometimes the makeup pills or separates (and idk if it’s the makeup or the fact that it’s not compatible w my skincare) almost as soon as I’m done applying. Super frustrating!
I have learned so much from just trying to shade match this foundation. LOL They replicated the crazy MAC shade system by being opposite. Example is a NC 25 in MAC means N= Neautralized C=Cool. The end result NC 25 is NC=NOT COOL. Because the cool is neutralized. I love the foundation but frustrating finding a shade.
I have unproblematic but very oily skin and I originally was really loving this foundation. I had it for a week and it didn’t last well, I was oily in 2-3 hours.I thought it did look a little too much like makeup when set too. I then tried the Patrick Ta and found it way more skin like so I returned this. Love the Patrick Ta as I feel it just enhances the complexion without masking it. I love Giorgio Armani luminous silk also. That’s a staple in my collection I just added. I was sleeping on it lol. Your skin looks amazing with it. I think it could be a beautiful formula for many just wasn’t for me.
Nikki darling! Foundations have come a long way to say the least, some better than others. I am however curious to try this it and see how it performs with my hyperpigmented/textured, combo mature skin...wow that's a lot come think of it. Anyway, I will report back to you! Ahhhh yes!!! Please please do report back to me if you get the chance to try it! I’m so curious what your thoughts will be! But I do think it you will end up loving it ! Really my only complaint with this foundation is the way they labeled the shades/ undertones.

I have mature aging dry skin. I have no pores but have some wrinkles around the eyes. I was not going to try this foundation until a you tube mature dry skin person tried it and loved it. So I bit the bullet. I LOVE this foundation. I purchased 160 due to suggestion of their website. I like the color but it is not a true match. It is doable and I will purchase a neutral color before winter. What I have now has a light peach tone. This foundation goes on like a dream with brush or sponge. It does not settle in wrinkles or fine lines. It has a natural glow to it. It makes the skin look better than it is. I get more compliments on my skin when I wear this foundation. It covers any texture areas extremely well. I have other foundations that I like to rotate. But since wearing this foundation, I can not stop wearing it. There is no rotation going on. Surprisingly this has become my holy grail. I do not think much of celebrity make up and did not want to like this. But I must say this is one beautiful foundation for aging skin. The only down side is the color matching. I agree that their tones are very different.

SO reassuring that even a professional has an off day color matching 😂 I worked at Home Depot, paint dept. and it helped me tons with color, undertones, color correcting - but I still sit in wonder of my olive/medium/green skin tone 😅 I loved seeing your full skincare routine!

The struggle is real! Sephora had me in every undertone for a year until one mua pegged me as a neutral olive leaning warm 🤷🏽♀️. It works so it’s easier now knowing where to start but the problem is my skin tone is medium-deep. Too many companies skip the lightest shades and the medium-deep shades.
I have watched several reviews on this foundation and only saw 2 YTs point this out. Unless you have purchased MAC foundation in the past I feel like you will be confused on shade choices.

Nikki I’m the same way with my skincare. I keep my routine/ type of products the same just change the products themselves. I have combo skin (oilier in summer dry in winter) but besides getting excited for new products I noticed my skin would get accustomed to the products and the full effects stop working. I recently received the serum and moisturizer from Susan’s brand can’t wait to try them now!
Yes! Glad I’m not the only one! And totally agree my skin get used to using the exact same formulas, I feel like it’s the same with hair care and shampoos.

Hey beautiful... Haus labs is not made in the USA. Most companies will change the names for the USA market. If I buy Estee Lauder in Germany it's cool, which is neutral for USA. She really should correct this. Hope this helps
I struggle soo so much with figuring out my skin tone. I think what throws me off is I"m 56 and therefore have alot of sunspots or brown areas that no matter what I treat with, JUST ARE and so i'm like do I mak=tch to them or to the lighter skin underneath. We unfortunately do not have a stand alone Sephora close by so ugh. It frustrating with your skin is many colors lol

I have been doing skin care for very long time now and I have never put my serum around my eyes at all. I always thought it would not be safe. I’m going to give it a try with the two serums. I use both morning and night.
I greatly appreciate this review. This is the best foundation review anyone has ever given on RUclips. When testing foundation and I always wonder why influencers put a ton of powder on top of it because then we cannot tell how the actual foundation is going to perform. Thanks again. I literally just got this foundation today and wondered why a warm tone was my match when I am cool toned. Your explanation was so helpful! I've only had the foundation on for an hour, but I love the look so far! My skin is heavily textured, oily, with large pores, and some dry areas - so the whole bad skin shebang 😃. I'm hoping this foundation stays nicely put all day!
does it help with acne scarring and pores?
@KBA I believe it did? I ended up returning it after a couple of tries. I know the reviews on it are pretty good. It looked beautiful on me at first, but I have some super dry patches that, by the end of the day, stood out a lot (like the foundation didn't last). I don't know if it would have been better with a different primer or because my skin just sucks 🤪, but it's worth a try, I think. It really was a nice foundation; it just didn't work for my skin. The only foundation I have tried so far that works for me is the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better.
@@rbcwgrl u have dry skin? i face problems with shade match i have bought so many foundations but only Maybelline fit me matte and poreless shade 112 and 120 look good on me i hv combination to normal skin i hv light complexion and i look yellow and i get pimples easily by foundations kindly suggest me some foundation through ur experience mam.
@KBA I actually have oily skin, BUT, as I get older, I have fine lines and a couple of dry spots that remain no matter how much serum and moisturizer I use. I tried a NARS foundation recently, but it didn't cover well enough for my liking. I prefer medium to full coverage, with the ability to build up the foundation. That's why I like the IT Cosmetics foundations. It has never made me break out. I also liked the Too Faced Born This Way, but the shades I have are a little warm on me (I'm light, cool toned). I loved the Kosas foundation when I tried samples, but again, it didn't last on my skin. But the coverage was nice! Also, the IT Cosmetics tinted moisturizer was nice! If you're looking for something light.

I legit thought that your bare skin without skincare or makeup was already with the foundation on.
It's so annoying that they mixed up the Cool and Warm. Its hard enough to pick out foundations shade. It took me so long to find a shade. After purchasing 2 of the wrong shades I ended up going into the store and having them match me. I ended up with a neutral even though i have golden undertones.
What setting powder would you recommend with Haus Lab?

I don’t want to have to buy two different foundations. But if I want it too look correct on my faire skin tone.
There are plenty of other foundations out there that fit me in. If I we’re a make up artist. Of course I’d be mixing away. I just know that your not alone in being annoyed bye there silly undertone system.

I have oily combo skin and this did not work well on me. It looked so beautiful during application but it broke up, and it might have been my sunscreen underneath
Online I was shade matched by my Dior shade, it was perfect

Not everyone has undertones of pink and peach it's ridiculous Haus labs has labeled it crazy and it's hard to find a neutral yellow tone. I haven't found a match cuz of this reason
I am really interested in videos with new foundations as at my age of 33 I don't have that good foundation for me. I always used Estee Lauder double wear but with shade match I am not 100% happy, so I am happy to see reviews on new ones, and with my skin type, sensitive acne and dry is way more difficult to find the perfect foundation...

I’m combo dry with some texture and I’m really liking this. My color sample I have is off but I keep wanting to use it. This makes my face feel soft it is long lasting on my skin. Love it and will continue to use it!
