My wife has a 450 DPS. We’ve gone riding in Montana and a couple of places in TN and GA. The CanAm has done everything we asked of it. I am a big guy (6’3”, 295) and it carries me up mountains with relative ease. We are going to Ouray CO this summer and I look forward to seeing how it performs up to 12000 ft.
Sounds like a great trip. Let us know how it goes 👍
Bought one for my wife. She loves it. And now I love it more than my Kodiak 700. Great value and quality for what they cost.
Ooh thank you sharing as I am thinking of purchasing one of these for myself!
I've owned 5 quads. Two Yamaha quads, two Polaris quads, and an Artic Cat. The Yamahas and one of the polaris quads I had were pretty reliable. The Artic Cat I pretty much fixed it and flipped it. I rode it for a little bit, but it was way too slow for my taste. Now I'm looking at an older Can Am Outlander 650 xt. I know someone who has a Can Am Maverick x3 and it didn't seem to have any issues, but their Polaris rzr xp was an absolute pile of crap. It constantly blew drive belts, and one time it just completely died on the trail. I'm not really a fan of the newer polaris products, but the older 500 machines were pretty well made. I'm looking forward to give Can Am a try.
After watching this video, I am now holding the key in my hand
Not a 4 wheeler...mainly ridden Harley Davidsons! Really nice 4 wheeler! Love the features and the color!
My wife has that exact bike, she loves it! We put a storage trunk on the back and LED pod lights and Ricochet skid plates and a 2500 winch and some new wheels and ITP Mud Lite tires on it. The bike is pretty bad ass and rides incredibly smooth.
What size Mud Lites did you go with? Still feel good on power?
@@TrailPass 26" and plenty of power. She (wife) has a blast in the mud...lol
How do you like the ricotech skid plates? I just ordered the 8 piece set.
@@TheEddieg1243 they are working out great, no issues.
Nice! Thanks for the review, I was thinking about getting one, and now I’m almost positive I want one!
Thanks, the value of the 450 and 570 are but excellent for what you get!
I went to “bert’s mega mall”, because I saw a 2016 white honda rancher on their website. I ended up getting a 2016 can am outlander L 570, because I couldn’t afford the rancher. I love my outlander L now though. I used to put my outlander L on a “u-haul trailer”, because I used to drive an SUV. I just got a pick-up truck last year though, so now we put it on the pick-up truck. I hope that I can get to use my outlander L soon. I can’t wait to ride it at “the san gabriel canyon OHV area” here in California. I hate life. “Medical aid in dying” for the “terminally ill” in a hospice.
I wen the other way for the 570. Years later I would have went for the DPS in hindsight. Riding the 1000 with DPS made me realize how much of a game changer the DPS is when on rocky trails.
But you must be an experienced rider! Im gonna try to save up my money for a 570
@@mouseclicksforu9724 save your money and look for a 650 if you feel the need of a canam. Much better machine
They also sell a 90 kids 4 wheeler :). I recently picked up a used one for the family as my son will wind up riding. Surprised that the 38 hp is more than most other manufacturers up to 600cc. Pretty impressive. Love the fuel
Injection.
My grizzly XTR gets 220 kms to a Tank of fuel . Yamaha power steering is the best on the market , I have owned 5 can ams . Two hand brakes are a necessity . Shifter needs to be on the left , it's quicker in tight situations and snow plowing . And Yamaha and Suzuki shift way smoother . They are cheaper for a reason . Great review , you are a well spoken person . Thank you .
Thanks for your thoughts. Yamaha makes an awesome ATV, no doubt. I do like both Can-Am and Yamaha EPS. I like the fuel tank in the rear and the suspension on the Can-Am, plus the addition of the Max (2-up) models. I think if Yamaha made more than just 2 engine sizes it would definitely help their business and the market as a whole. Competition makes everyone better!
Just bought my 450 TODAY! It’s pouring so I’ll have to settle watching you enjoy yours for today 😁 ps dope wrangler!
Nice machine !! Congrats.
I have a Polaris 570 with power steering. No complaints.
Don't worry you will. They are not great quality.
Awesome little quad for someone to get into the sport with . Once you have seat time you can always upgrade to something more powerful . I’ll be honest having alot of power is addictive once you get a taste of it , it’s hard to give it up.
I really liked the can am. I wouldnt have gotten a massive engine on one. I found my 750 with a little damage brand new to a fender so I gobbled it up when it was less than a can am or king quad 500. I was looking in the 500 range. It would have been plenty, but the extra the 750 has is awesome. I'm wondering how reliability will be on the 570 and lower engines on the can am. The more power the more stuff breaks. Suzuki is pretty reliable along with Honda of course. I do like the orange looking color.
First off awesome video .
Someone is selling a 2022 can am Highlander with plow and some other accessories .. it does not have power steering and I’ll be mostly using it for plowing. Asking 8900 it only has 2 miles on it
Is no power steering a deal breaker ? This is my first atv
Great review !
Thanks I'm looking forward to by my new 450 can am this help a lot !
🤝🏼
So how’s it been? I went with the 450 myself a few years ago and love it…Zero issues!
It's been great so far and super comfortable to ride!
I love my 570 L I’m thinking about getting the 450 L for the wife. My buddy has the 1000 and up to about 60 we are side by side
Great review. But the 570 also has more torque with 120 more CCs
And?
Just grabbed one myself. I love it!
Great video awsome information went down to the dealership yesterday to go buy one. When I started it up it sounded real clanky then it went away after 2 to three seconds. I then started another 450 and the same thing. It sounds like you get rocks and put it in a soda can and shake it around I then told the sales guy that it didn't sound right he said that's how they all start. Then again its the sales guy trying to make a sale. I googled 450 can am Outlander starting problems and there has been a lot of issues with it needing a new starter. Have you needed a new starter since you have had this machine?
Thanks! My does have a tinny sound when starting but it stops almost immediately. This is from there starter like you said. I haven't had any issues whatsoever with mine and I absolutely love it! I have ridden the 570s and will make a video on that soon. Overall I would definitely buy the 450 again. I have the extended warranty on my outlander and will post updates when I have it serviced. Thanks for watching!
I will caution you about looking some issues up on the forum. Many people on there are more concerned with being brand loyal fanboys than helpful and there bad experiences are secondhand account of someone misusing their machine (remember your shopping an ATV, not a submarine). I think if any brand these days was awful they would be out of business with so much other competition. Sure issues can arise occasionally, but any machine from a big name manufacturer will likely give you good service for many years if you take care of it.
Our 2018 450 tops out at 63
Good video. Like another RUclipsr said it’s better to ride then not to ride. The difference in mileage from the 450-650 in can am is very little. 850 and up oh the mileage changes a lot. The gas gauge on my outlanders are not the most reliable. Depending on the riding you do the 450 is a good way to go but it’s not for mudding. The power is a really good option we use ours all the time depending on where we ride. The higher models have better headlights that is one thing I would change on yours. Good video. Can’t wait to see it on the trail.
I completely agree! We do a lot of woods riding where top speed is limited and handling is much more important, so the 450 does well. What lights would you recommend?
Bandit Off-road Honestly I have the HD factory light on both of my quads and I like them. Another RUclipsr that’s doing a build put these lights on and they do look very bright. Neutrino LED Lights. We went to a rally one time and we got lost at the rally we never got back from the rally until it was dark. We were suppose to be back with the sun still up. We rode 11 hours my wife and I on a max and we are bigger people. We went through about 30 litres of fuel. We went through a lot of mud and got sick about 3 times. But I was glad we had bright light on the quad on our way back. It’s one of those not expected to get lost but did and we were prepared with extra stuff to get out of situations. Tow ropes, compressor, extra water, food, one guy blew a belt. Expect the unexpected when you ride. Happy trails.
this video really helps my decision. Thank you!
For reference, my 2019 Yamaha Grizzly 700 gets around 100 miles per tank with moderate driving. I do drive aggressive at times but just in short spurts. Most of our riding is just slow mountain trail riding like you do. My wife has a 2018 Polaris Sportsman 850 SP and it gets around 80-100 miles per tank depending on how you drive it. Not sure how much each tank holds, I've never paid attention to it lol.
Is it big enough for 2 people to ride comfortably?
I'm wondering if you could help me with the four wheel button just trying to figure out which way is four wheel drive. Forward or back thanks
You should rock it back towards you to where all 4 wheels on the diagram are the same color. It should also show up in your gauge cluster when in 4x4. I have had several other folks say that were confused by the switch too. Can-Am didn't make it very clear.
@@TrailPass Thanks for getting back to me I have it in the right place for two wheel drive then, unfortunately I don't show up on dash and I agree can am could of been a little more clear on the subject lol
Digging that yellow color, personally I'd go with Honda rancher mostly because I know their rep and dont know much about can am or parts etc.. I wish Honda offered more than olive, red and camo in the ranchers but i definately would buy a foot shift for sure.
Get a Honda. No CVT transmission, you will be the go-to guy for pulling. Moose, trailers, trees, etc, you will be the tow truck. Bulletproof tractable four stroke Honda legendary motor. Drive it for 20,000 km regular oil changes. Honda holds its value. Look want ads. Honda still selling 25 year old quads for $2000.00. Buy a Honda, and smile 😊. Knowing you have the Best ATV made. But you can buy lots of used Can Am parts in Craigslist or ebay.
I have a 2019 can am outlander 570xt and my dad has a 2018 can am renegade 1000r xmr and a 2020 maverick xxc 1000rr
And can you keep up with them no problem? How does it compare? Thanks
Love this honest video on the outlander 450
Thanks for the kind words. Please consider subscribing to stay up to date on our future videos!
Very good video my fellow Virginian ...I’ve owned 2 Polaris and 1 can am. I wouldn’t buy anything else. Everyone has a brand they believe in just like cars and trucks. Many comparison videos over the years always has Polaris or Can Am as either first or second. The only brand that consistently is rated at the bottom of the pack is Honda.
Thanks for watching. It's easy to see how much effort Canam and Polaris put into innovation!
Been looking at the 450. I was looking at the 420 rancher too but the Can am looks so much better in person
The 450 is definitely a premium atv in the looks and ride quality department. I love mine with the power steering. Honda makes great machines but they just don't have the power unfortunately.
Bandit Off-road thanks for the review man
@@JL-mb7om thanks for watching!
Honda holds its value, and won’t be back to a dealership other than for oil. The Honda can pull a 1100lb Moose out of the bush no problem (I did it with a 350 Honda), best thing about Honda, No CVT transmission (Geared Transmission), not so with CVT Can Am transmission.
lmtada I just don’t like the look of the hinds ranchers. Got my Can Am today! It’s sweet
I am currently looking at buying this same bike. My question is how is the torque power? I am not to concerned with top speed as much as I am punch. I would be doing things like plowing snow and pulling a small trailer. Thanks! Great video.
This is kinda a hard thing to explain. For me it is a nice balance between not- scary and fun. Again I'm not a big guy but I can grab a fist full of throttle and slide it through turns. It feels in the same league as the Sportsman 570 that we have. I know that if you would move to a Canam 570 (or beyond) with the V-twin Rotax it would obviously have more torque but this 450 feels like plenty. A Yamaha 700 is probably the torquiest single but it feels kinda old/heavy/not-nimble compared to the smaller, lighter ATVs like the 450 and 570 from Polaris and Canam. From my research Canam gets the most power from a single. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Just picked up the 2019 outlander 570, I test drove the 450 but I felt the power from the 570 was worth a little more $ It hauls ass.
If you rode a 570 and it didnt have stickers on it, you almost think it was a 650 at the amount of power they have!
@@hunterharrell7491 in the papers for my 2018 570, it says that the displacement actually is 650ccm, so it might be that you are not so far away from the truth😉
How you do you like it? I'll be going to try the 450 and 570 pretty soon.
@@dlppl3407 good machine, except my speedometer quit working for some reason.
@@APECK636 how much did it hurt $? Damn I'm so excited
I’m debating buying one of these or a Polaris sportsman 450 and this review was honestly very helpful
Matthew Welch Go for the Can am, much better quality, i have a polaris ace and i always hear parts rattling
not that polaris is bad but Can Am is just more durable
I have a Polaris 450 with power steering. 2016 model. had to replace power steering unit already. Buy the Can Am. I I am looking to buy one now. Much better quality than the Polaris. FYI
Robert Shupe yeah
Thanks for the feedback guys! Sounds like the Can-Am is the better choice here
Looks like you might be starting something? Maybe your friends buy one if they don't have on and then you take those with you off roading your trucks this winter. Take your trucks as far as they will go and then switch to four wheelers. In the snow that seems like you could make some awesome videos!
So I bought a outlander this summer and was told that the engine gets a little warm and for $41.00 I could add a heat shield. My 1986 Honda gets a little warm do I thought that would be ok, boy was I wrong we went for the weekend in the mountains and I could hardly ride my machine had to have my feet up by the bars my legs would get so red. I had a water thermos in a pouch of the front wheel and when I pulled it out I could hardly hang on to it it was so hot, does anyone else have this problem?
A fuel programmer, or ecu flash will drastically cut temps on a can am. They're set up too lean from the factory to meet emissions.
@@joebiker5992 my outlander was a 650, until I spun a rod bearing. I rebuilt it with a new crankshaft, and using new cylinders and pistons for an 800. Now after the 800 rebuild, and having the computer reflashed, I have a much more powerful AND cooler running machine. That tuning made an enormous difference in the heat radiating off it.
Do you think a 450 dps or 570 would fit me well! Im about 5 ft 10 and 140 lbs average!
I have the same quad and I have beat it to shit and it still runs fine the quad hasn’t been serviced since the first service at 30 hours it know has 150 I will be doing it soon tho
Mine has been great too. Power and ride is excellent for a 450.
I love the color..
Just saw a video of the 450 hitting 62 mph.
me too via a video on youtube :)
KoJo2017 i can hit 110 km/h with my outlander 450
@@Liamdesl Must be downhill or you are a tiny person because I can't hit 68mph (110kph) on my 2019 450.
Sometimes going down the gravel road can reach 64 65
63 here
I really like the way that bike is set up. How are you liking it?
I've really enjoyed it! We still have this machine, but also added a 570 MAX XT to our fleet. Both have been great machines but the 570 v-twin seems to be more refined and much more powerful.
@@TrailPass Can Am have some power for sure. I got the Outlander 1000xt and it is almost scary fast.
Hey man great video, but if I’m working on a budget what year should I get?
If you can find a Yamaha Grizzly or Kodiak it may be a good option if you're on a budget.
@@TrailPass I mean my budget is like 4K and you said it was like 6k I could pull some strings and get it for cheaper
If you're looking to spend around 4k, you may consider a lightly used one from market place or Craigslist
@@TrailPass smart man, but I am firm set on buying this four wheeler even if it takes another year
I love my outlander 450 I like the power and it doesn’t yank me forward like the higher end atvs like the 850 Polaris
1000 Subs with videos challenge I have a 450 can am and my brother has a 850 Polaris I keep up with him on trails but not straights but he never gets really far from me when my 450 has a 2 inch lift and tops out at 62 mph
I have 1000 outlander XMR 2020 Can I make very good machine good luck with your machine looks great and the color fantastic
They are a great quad
Can am has come a long way. Nothing awrong with what you bought. Hp plenty. I ride a Honda rancher not out there trying to break bones out there to enjoy hunting trails and farming .Polaris to expensive to work on holds up only with a lot of maintenance canam far surpasses them
Do you know if your able to remove the storage compartment from the quad. I don’t really use it and it’s kind of extra weight and a waste of space?
If you're talking about the storage in the center of the rear rack, I believe that is pretty much a permanent box. You maybe could remove it, but it would leave a hole in the machine
How do you feel about it now? Im trying to find my first atv to buy. My friends have sportsman 570 and outlanders 570 and I dont know which to go with.
I actually just purchased an Outlander 570 Max to have the rear seat for my wife. The V-twin 570 definitely has more power compared to the 450 single but it's also heavier and hotter on trails. I love both machines and don't think you could go wrong.
My recommendation is to ride your friends' machines to get a feel. The Outlander 450 is closer to the feel of the Sportsman 570 since they're both singles. In the long run, I would guess you'd be happier on the 570 since you have friends with that machine, however you may be intimidated by its weight and power.
Hope this helps! Both are great options! Let me know what you decide
go with can am
How much did you buy it for?
The yamahas power steering only needs one setting. It's so much better than the canam which is absolutely numb.
I am new to it too
Faults. I like my 450, use it for farming and hunting, Faults are Plasticine brake pads, replace with sintered pads and a LOT of heat given off the engine that tries to cook your calves, solved by putting a resistor ( I think) in the fan line so ithe fan runs on 6volts all the time but still cuts into full speed (12 volt) under load.
I love the color I have a red 570 awesome 4 wheelers!
Speaking of fuel economy, how bad is the Outlander 1000 XT-P compared to what you have here?
I don't know exact numbers, but the 1000 cc can be much more thirsty, depending on how you ride.
@@TrailPass I wonder what the MPG (or per tank) is on the 1000? How is it compared to the 450? The other thing I was curious about is, if the 570 can go nearly 70mph, and the 1000 can go nearly 80, that doesn't seem like much of a difference for so many extra cc's. So what's the point of getting a 1000cc if you're only getting +10mph?
@@Dreaklock the difference really isn't the top speed it's more about the torque. If you really plan on running larger tires or riding in deep mud that would bog the machine, you may want to look into a larger engine. For me the 570 is more than enough.
@@TrailPass I don't have any interest in mud. Too nasty. Most likely, at least in the beginning, I would just keep the stock tires on it. Mainly for trail riding, maybe some hunting, general packing stuff around, etc. 4x4 is a must, but I also want something really fast that I can play around with and enjoy. The Sportsman and Outlander seem like just what I'm looking for. I didn't know much about the different sizes and figured bigger must be better. But now that you mention it, fuel economy does seem concerning, because I could see myself wanting to ride for a couple hours or more at a time. I don't want to stress about making my destination (though carrying extra fuel wouldn't be an issue). Then again, I love going fast and accelerating quickly (when it's appropriate). So I'll definitely have to look into exactly what the specific differences are between the 570 - 850 - 1000. Top end may not be THAT different, but I like the sound of more torque.
@@Dreaklock honestly the 650 may be a great option for you. I've heard that's arguably the best all- rounder in the canam lineup.
I have seen many of the can am 450 reach 62 MPH
64mph all day on mine ! I've had it 2 years and have rode the absolute fuck out if it no issues except brakes. Good bike plenty of power for pulling.
64mph? I just bought one, and it goes 57mph tops. I had it wide open on my straight road. It's the best quad I've owned so far, I had a Suzuki 250 dam thing was junk. Then I bought a Can Am Ds650, and the first day I got it home the engine blew because the previous owner was liar. Now that quad topped out at like 80. I haven't got to try the outlander in mud yet. I'm curious how the 4wd is. I also have a Yamaha Linhai 260cc but it has belt issues, it's a 2x4 and is pretty good in mud.
The 570 does have a lot more power, ive had both, the hp doesn’t matter it’s that it’s a v twin
I agree. V-twin is the biggest difference. Do you notice that your 570 is much hotter on your legs than the 450 while riding?
Bandit Off-road I’ve noticed it’s a little hotter but not much at all, I picked up my 18 570 xmr for only like $6800 and I purchased 3 year extended warranty for it, used it once on a rear diff seal, great bike
I’ve also had my 450 max hit about 62-63 mph
How many miles do you drive on one tank of gass?
He said he has ridden 40-50 miles on trails and still been above half a tank
My wife rode hers 120 miles in 1 day out on the Paiute in Utah on a single tank and still had some. I had to add gas to my Kodiak 700 on the same trip. We ride relatively easy though. Love this machine. I’d get rid of my 700 for one.
I've went 105 miles on my 850 when the fuel light came on. Same size fuel tank.
I Loved my 2015 450 until some ass hole stole it and I didn't have any Insurance and I payed cash for it but I did get me another one back I got the 570 V twin it has more power but it puts off alot of heat, wish I would have got the 450 back with power steering dont get no were as hot, I love my 2018 570 tho but the 450 got way better gas millage
Dang sorry to hear that. I'm definitely covering those issues in a future episode. We have a 570 as well and I've seen all the same things!
I had read they get hot. That's part of why I looked at Suzukis even.
Now having it a year would you re buy another one? I'm looking at this, the 570, Honda Foreman and Suzuki King Quad 500. I know the Honda is probably the slowest been out on the trail speed doesn't matter all that much anyway. I have heard the horror stories of owning Can-Am to as well just curious
We actually have 3 outlanders. They are by far the most comfortable atv I've ever been on. I ride both the 450 and 570 a lot and it all depends on what you want and what your friends ride. The 450 is a great machine and obviously the 570 is more powerful. I suggest you ride them both and decide from there. Honda and suzuki make good machines, but in my area they are much more expensive. For me, I wasn't willing to pay more for a slower, less comfortable machine.
@@TrailPass thank you for the reply. Actually Honda and Suzuki probably a little cheaper in my area I'm in the southern part of Missouri. Right now I have a sport quad and I'm just tired of Shifting constantly when we're out on the trails because most of the time we just putt along and we really don't do any heavy mud riding and just small creek crossings nothing more than probably up to the bottom of the running boards at the most
@@mzondi1970 I'm not sure you could go wrong with any of them. I would definitely look hard at power steering though, what a difference that makes!
I’ve gone 60 on my 450 dps max
Great job enjoyed the video as always....
Currently I have a 09 sportsman 550 xp but this weekend I am looking at a 2020 outlander 570 xt
You should get it. My cousin has the 570 Polaris and I had a 570 renegade. The v-twin makes way more power and torque
But why ?
The sportsman is way faster 120 kmh max speed ?
Marko Jagar no it’s not. A single cylinder motor isn’t faster than a v twin. Won’t rev up as fast either
I went and looked at the outlander 570 XT and I really like it there are a couple of things that I am wondering about for example for it being a V twin would that not generate more heat around the legs also I keep reading mixed reviews on the Can-Am winch
Is the xt package worth getting vs a 570 dps
50 mph is not true the 450 will push 64mph
I’ve only pushed mine to 58-59. Must test this speed!
Dan Dan Hodskins do you have new tires
No sir, my baby only has about 25 hours on it. Do you recommend any?
Dan Dan Hodskins how aggressive do you ride casual or rough and muddy
If you get it it tuned it can go 70 🤘 but you need an exhaust that is non restrictive
What about compare with cfmoto?
I have a 570xt and I love it hope you enjoy it
I have a 450 and my husband has the 1000xtp they are awesome but mine is no comparison to my husbands xtp. Itll run 80 and has 32" tires
Appreciate the post. I have 31 maxxis bighorns on my Jeep, and just purchased a 450 dps and I'm definitely giving those tires you recommended a try
Is it a noticeable difference in power between the 570 and 450?
There are pros and cons with the both. The engine's torque is much greater with the can-am 570 because of the vtwin, however the 570 it is heavier, less efficient, and has much more engine heat. Ultimately you're talking 38 vs 48 hp.
I have a 570 and my fiancé has a 450 I can tell a big difference in the speed and power she wishes she got the 570. We live in southern Ohio so we ride some pretty rough trails and I haven’t had a problem with my 570. Only thing I would recommend is that they need bigger tires I bottom out in big mud holes. Also like bandit said the 570 does get hotter it is a v-twin engine and it can get hot on the legs if riding for several hours. But I am very happy with the 570!
S&S Outdoors i live in southern oh as well and which would you reccomend for some one who is nearly 6 foot and is pretty light i can handle power but i love riding trails all day aswell and wander which you prefer
All ATV manufactures state horsepower, I ride in the Rocky Mountains so I’m more concerned about torque. Do that list that in the specs?
ernestoluzan yes
Nice ride 👍🤠
So what year is this model ? Reason I am asking if you purchased a 2020 DPS 450 outlander it does not come with the nice wheels you have , it comes with Steel wheels, please explain? thanks !

My Cfmoto 550 had 38bhp and I had it upto 63 it was restricted and still had more to go
Ok.
Make video how u change oil on BRP 460
Great review
Does this have engine breaking? Looks sharp man !
Thanks, I appreciate it! Can-am does have Engine Braking in all of the new Outlander and it is among the best I've experienced. Thanks for watching!
@@TrailPass , I am looking at 2019 450 DPS , do you know if that would have it ? thanks Charlie
@@charliepalmer2465 definitely should!
I heard the new Outlander have speedometer problems
my 2015 blew two in 3 years 500 a piece canadian
All good canam fixed the issue
What tires are on the 450?
I've actually been running the SunF tires from Amazon. They're very similar to Maxxis Bighorns for a fraction of the price!
So they go for 4,500? You said they are 1,500 cheaper than 6,000 regular yamaha or Honda machines.
I wish! For the power steering models they all start around 7k. We got this one out the door for a little over 6k while the others were almost 8k. We couldn't get any incentives at all for the Yamaha
I don’t know crap about quads! This is a great video. Thank you.
This has got to be one of the best if not the best review of a Canam. Great job. I have a polaris 850 and love it but I’m really wanting a Canam also was thinking about the Xmr 570 renegade but again great review
Thank you so much! The 570 V Twin has considerably more torque, but both are great machines.
How muche is the speed
Would love to hear a comparison with the Sportsman 570 (assuming it is the value model). Which one do you feel is better built? How long have you had the Polaris? Any problems? I don’t hear a lot of good things about the newer Polaris atv’s. Thanks.
We've had the polaris about 3 years. No problems to report. I'll work on the video when I can!
Can tell you I just left dealership, and compared Yamaha 450, Outlander 450, and Polaris 450 , Polaris IMHO had the least favorable build quality.... just being honest ... as I was open to buying any of them ....
@@charlespalmerii4299 I agree. I traded the Polaris in for my outlander 450. Can-am build quality is much higher than the Polaris.
I have a Polaris 570 and a 450. Looking to buy a Can Am. I had an 2004 Polaris 500. Good machine. The new ones. are poor quality and issues constantly. Check engine light comes on all the time. Engines misses. Power steering went out on the 450. Polaris parts and labor are extremely high. Disappointed in Polaris products.
nothing but trouble one i got 1200 kms all kind problems clutch possible engine or diff problems run run fast invest in japanese u wont regret it
Love it
What Price plees telme
An outlander 450 has a starting msrp of $6,000
Does it have 4 wheel drive?
It has selectable 4x4 with front limited slip.
I have one already
That rear mounted fuel tank is nice until you have to tear the whole rear of the machine apart to get to the fuel pump!
True, but all of them are a pain if you have to do any real work to them. These machines are meant to be scrapped once the 5 year mark hits. Not just can am by any means, but teh cheaper Arctic cats and polaris are similar. Go online looking for 10 year old machines, you'll see 10 Honda's and Yamaha machines for every good condition can am or polaris you find.
ALL atvs suck to work on.
@@alexmaclean1 that's because the Yamahas and hondas didnt make enough power to get out of their own way. Farmers, ranchers, and other people that bought them, and used em for a year, and set em in the back of their garage to collect dust. Polaris, can ams are built to get the crap kicked outta them. Crap is gonna break on em in this aspect. Can am is sport minded first, utility 2nd. I'll never look back. Can am gets a 10 outta 10 in my eyes!
@@alexmaclean1 They last way longer than that, my 2013 Can am is still going strong after 7 years, it's only needed a fuel pump
Mine topped out at 65 mph
Mine was 64 with stock tires. 61 with Carlisle ACT HD tires. 2019 model
Have one I love it
I'm thinking of buying one of these for myself...I do like speed but I'm not looking to race; well not yet anyway. I'm thinking pre owned. I've got 5K saved...
Why? I never need an excuse to buy toys... :) Enjoy! Be safe!
