    Ok Shannon, you answered my “if and when?” at the end of this video. I totally agree with the shortage of EV Charging Networks throughout the U.S. Tesla does have more.

    With all the advertised EVs coming on the market next year, there are definitely not enough Fast-Chargers out there! In the short 2 months owning my first EV (Ioniq 5), I have only had one issue at a fast charger where all bays were full. The bigger issue, was having an organized line, figuring out who was next to charge. I had 2 people cut me off and pull into the charger even though it was my turn. I also wish all the fast-chargers used one app, or a more convenient way to charge/pay. This is where Tesla chargers shine!

      Not sure where you live, but we have road tripped our Ioniq 5 from Seattle to Key West and now south Miami. We have never had to wait at any Electrify America charging station and it never took more than over 29 minutes and that was when we needed to go to 95 %. Most of the time stops were 15 to 18 minutes.

    It's not just the number of other chargers, or lack thereof.
    There are still far too many stories, and videos, of inoperable chargers, difficulty getting charging sessions started, etc.

    Be sure to check out Watkins Glen and hike the Gorge trail, if it's open yet.

      It opened early in May, though the lower part of the gorge trail is still closed for upgrades :)

    There are so many Tesla RUclips videos. Prioritizing the newer EVs is the way to go. I have a Model 3 and love Tesla videos but I prefer to watch RUclips videos on the newer EVs as they're unknown territory and much more exciting to watch the legacy companies bring actual competition to Tesla.

    Shannon, you answered my question on the EV6! But, if and when will it happen?

  • @IAmThePrepper
    @IAmThePrepper 2 года назад +1

    I hope Tesla not going up open up their superchargers to non-tesla vehicles. One of the selling points of getting a tesla is the charging networks. If it allows other non-tesla EVs to charge, it will just create traffic of waiting.

    Model Y is not that efficient as Model 3 BUT, it is definitely much more comfortable and overall the best car I ever owned for doing long trips! Best wishes from Switzerland! 🏔🇨🇭

    Thanks for this video! I have a Model Y on order, and it was a hard time choosing between that and some other options Mach-E, EV6, ID4, etc.). Your videos helped me make my decision! I'm sure vehicles from other manufacturers will catch up soon, and I hope they do, but right now, Teslas still face the least amount of complications associated with them. Hopefully changes in a couple years!

    Why on earth did Electrify America not integrate Plug n Play when that is standard procedure for all electronics nowadays. An app that fails to load and 2 minutes delay is a show stopper in the race to recharge game.
    Hopefully someday flash charging will over take the entire connect the APP time.

    Guys…this subscriber early this year ordered a TMY after an exhaustive search. I loved the MME but it’s all about the charging network AND not just QUANTITY of the chargers but CONDITION. Only Tesla seems to maintain them. In an article I just read 23% of chargers in California were out of service when inventoried. None were from Tesla. Ordered it in January…has slowly moved out to September delivery. Teslas are made of unobtanium. Question…I love the green on the EV6…how much did that wrap cost? Do wraps chip and tear if properly installed with normal use? What’s your experience with wraps from a reliability perspective? I am learning so much from you both. Thank you. Greg

    • @EVandChill
      @EVandChill  2 года назад +1

      Hey Greg, congrats on the MY coming in!
      With us installing the wrap ourselves on the EV6, it only cost us $450 in materials vs $6500 to have my MYP’s PPF professionally done.
      Wraps do provide “some” protection but it’s very minimal because the vinyl is very thin. Even if it’s properly installed, you’ll probably get some chips if daily driving it. Wraps are usually only good for 2-5 years. If you are wanting actual protection, PPF is the way to but then you can’t choose color options as most PPF is limited to clear gloss or a satin finish. PPF usually has a warranty of 7-10 years.

    I hate supercharging. I can literally feel the waves of energy and it makes me brain feel like it's in a microwave. I experie cedar this for the first time 2 days ago in my model y lr

    We know why: the CCS charging network is dog shit. My town doesn't even have a CCS charger, the closest one is 40 mins away at a Sam's Club. We just got a Tesla Supercharger but that is literally your only option in this town for charging.

      60k and it depends on cost of electricity. For me it’s 5-10 bucks usually.

    Its been over a year since Elon/Tesla discussed opening up the supercharger network to other manufacturers. We also need VW to stop treating Electrify America as something it can dump after its done being punished for diesel-gate. They need ot Make E-A profitable, or sell to someone that can.

  • @Yanquetino

    Yes, the REAL reason Teslas are the market leader is because of… Superchargers. Newer EV models are just as capable, but… the DC Fast Charging networks have a long way to go to catch up. Give 'em a few years, and the difference might fade…? Hope your visit to the Lakes are Finger-lickin' good!

    So if you travel and want an EV you need a “backup” Tesla LMFAO, you are literally about the only people aside from car reviewers that would have that option.
    Build it and they will come but you MUST build the infrastructure first, good lordy Electrify America my booty.
