    Ingredients Quantity
    Oil 1 ½ tbsp
    Asafoetida ¼ tsp
    Mustard seeds ½ tsp
    Bengal gram 1 tbsp
    Black skinned split gram 1 tbsp
    Ginger chopped 1 tbsp
    Curry leaves as required
    Green chilli chopped 3 no
    Onion chopped 1 no
    Tomato chopped 1 no
    Salt to taste
    Turmeric powder 1 tsp
    Green peas boiled 1 cup
    Carrot cubed & boiled 1 no
    Sorghum soaked & boiled 2 cup
    Water 1 cup
    Fresh Coriander chopped 2 tbsp
    Coriander chopped for garnish
    Method
    1.Place a kadai on medium flame and heat oil.
    2.Add asafoetida and mustard seeds let them splutter.
    3. Bengal gram, black skinned spilt gram and chopped ginger sauté until
    they turn golden brown.
    4.Add curry leaves and chopped green chilli, and sauté for a few seconds.
    5.Add the chopped onions sauté until the onions become translucent.
    6.Add the chopped tomatoes and salt, cook until they become soft and
    mushy for 2 minutes.
    7.Add turmeric powder, boiled green peas and boiled carrot cook for a
    minutes until they are slightly tender.
    8.Add the cooked sorghum to the kadai and mix well with the vegetables.
    9.Add a cup of water and place the lid on top.
    10.Cook for another 10 minutes on medium flame, stirring occasionally to
    ensure everything is well combined and heated through.
    11.Now add freshly chopped coriander and mix well.
    12.Side out in serving bowl and garnish with chopped coriander.
    13.Enjoy your healthy and tasty jowar upma!
