That's actually a thing that bothers me the most, when people use french glass doors as entry doors and you can't make a step without immediately standing right in the living room. I would not feel comfortable, secure and private in that way and for sure it's harder to clean. If you walk right in with wet, muddy shoes, that's not a nice image. XD . I'd prefer a shoe changing area at the entrance as the japanese people have in their apartements.

Honestly, it's really refreshing to see a tiny home that isn't just absolutely covered with windows. I get it, the windows make a tiny space feel larger but I know I personally wouldn't want a heap of windows either because I'd want to put up artwork and a TV as well, and I also like to be a bit more private. It's good to see a space that balances a nice amount of natural light with a slightly more private tiny home.

The kitchen is perfect, lots of counterspace, seems much bigger than it probably is. Color scheme is calm and relaxing. @@JSkye-uu6dw Just from what I've seen on You Tube Oregon and Texas (and I imagine you have to check each county) are the ones you hear about. Very akin to a mobile home community, theres always possibility that the owner could sell the land, change requirements, etc that would have you needing to find a new spot. Missouri may be a choice if you buy land but keep the house very small to avoid complying to county regulations. Basically its checking with the county and state what they allow. I would have loved to buy land, build a foundation and put a permanent tiny house 400ft on it. Where I lived, not allowed but one could in a rural setting, possibly going off grid. Maybe others have some ideas for you. Bottom line, you'll probably spend more than you expect at least initially.

Wonderful efficient kitchen ! Recently cared for 2 dogs in a client's home. Kitchen was huge. It wasn't fun to cook in it ! Too much running back & forth ! Could have been 4 or 5 other people in there at the same time ! It definitely needed an Island cook top ! Movable I think.

She's a heck of a good designer. She could make a ton of money designing NYC apts. Her home is very well thought out, and it's function is perfect in my opinion. I honestly could live there and be happy. The only thing that might bother me a bit during the day, is not having the windows down below, but at night, I would probably enjoy the privacy and security it would provide the way it is now.

Absolutely brilliant. This is next level design. Efficiency, functionality, and a beautiful aesthetic… you’ve achieved all this without compromising comfort and livability. Very impressive! ‘Loving the gorgeous finishes throughout your kitchen and bath... are those actual tiles or acrylic panels? I could reside here easily, you’ve created such a warm, inviting vibe in your cozy home. Well done Sydne..

Synde, did an excellent job in planning her space in her tiny home. I think its the best design I have ever seen and I have looked at hundreds of videos. I also like that she is a tv watcher and has a big screen tv , lol. I guess being a interior designer has really paid off for her I don't see anything shes lacking. Her home looks so comfortable I would never leave just like my home that I own I only leave when absolutely necessary . Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

First: Do ANY of your windows open? Like an escape hatch in your bedroom? Two exits are fire code aren’t they?
Second: Beautiful home and you have a keen sense of natural beauty without the extra fuss and details
Third: Your Fry voice is driving me mad! I’m so sorry but anytime this hear it on tv I have to change the channel. Besides, isn’t fry out of style now? I’m Canadian and I’ve rolled my eyes at friends who take on the crackling voice.
But your voice doesn’t change what a genuine human being I think you are. Good luck in your ventures!🌸🌸

The most thought out and well designed tiny home I've ever seen. Not very many people think of having a laundry room which I have always wondered why not. A tiny home should have all of the same features as a regular house. Your kitchen and bath design are awesome and functional for living full time in a tiny house. You would be wise to offer your build and design plans for sale on the internet. I do have one question tho, why didn't you design a couple of side wall slide out expansions like they have on newer motor homes and travel trailers?

    • @sydnegoldstein637
      @sydnegoldstein637 2 года назад +17

Thank you for the nice words! My contractor wasn’t a fan of doing the slide outs due to mechanical complexity, and cost was a factor for not including them, plus I didn’t see a need for them since everything could fit in the space without them.

@@sydnegoldstein637 The girl knows what she wants!!! Beautiful beautiful job. Loved every layout, the colors, the placement of features, your relocation of HAV, the light factor and placement of windows, the tuckable stove, toilet in bumpout(smart), nice artwork & couch, like fullsize laundry👍, and... the foyer.
Could only imagine this place tucked into and acre or two wooded around it. Heaven.
The ONLY thing I would add is a small woodstove, so when power goes out , you don't die in your sleep.
      And a music room.🙄 😄

This is truly one of the most functional and beautiful tiny homes ever. I can't believe how much space she utilized and yet, it does not feel cluttered at all. The amount of storage is unreal. I live in a 1,000 sq ft home with my husband built in the late 1950's and I don't have anywhere near the storage she has ***jealous!!! The only thing I would need to change if this were my home, is I would need a full size stove. I use mine every single day, and my stove actually has 2 ovens in it and I use them both all the time. In fact, my stove replaces having a toaster so it frees up counter space too. For one person, this home is amazing. With two people, both people would have to be equally committed to keeping things picked up to make it work and not feel cluttered. But, Bravo, Sydne, you should design tiny homes for a living.

You can totally tell a designer came up with this layout. Yet oddly enough no main floor windows - crazy. Designers love their floor to ceiling windows these days, which makes me love her design even more, so much wall space for tech/art! Then 2 skylights to let in light. That natural light choice is so unique! So much wall space, and as a digital minimalist I'd love to live in her design and try it out! 100% agree with the dual washer and dryer over a combo one, hard to fit those into a tiny house and she did it perfectly making the entry a mudroom. I assumed separating the water in the front/back to do that would be a pain, but with Pex pipe these days I guess it's not that big of a deal to split your water. Love this design!

  • @SharonCullenArt

Being one to keep pointing out that she’s an interior designer one major faux pas was having a toilet be the sight line from the front to the back of the unit. Anyone would say you don’t want that! You put it around the corner and have a sink or closed off shower there. Not a toilet. Also, I think it is poor design to not have a window to see out of on the main floor. It will feel closed off from the outside world over time. The laundry design at the entry is a nice touch. There’s a separation to walking right into the living area.
