But how do you make it sound like a REAL voice? But in a different pitch/tone from your own? Or is that even possible? Ie audiobooks with different characters each having their own voice? Or is that not possible? TIA!

Nice video, but I just realized that in newer versions like the one you are using, the Effects button on the left contains many of the basic Audacity effects you can add non-destructively. That means if you add 3 effects, you can very simply (and temporarily) disable effect 1 and 2 just to see how things change.

Voice changing is used to add special effects to voice. It's going to be obvious. It's for sounding like Darth Vader, not your mom.

Hey @Musician Startup, thanks for this awesome video. I have been working on changing male -to-female voice and vice versa on many audio samples earlier using change pitch option, however this time I have a video which is just not working out for male to female change by changing pitch. It does goes deep when I lower the pitch but the moment I increase it it just changes to a boy and then extremely robotic. I can't find any pitch to get it to female voice. Would you have any other advise here? Appreciate your help in advance!

Great video mate. Do you know if there's a more "advanced" way of changing the voice? i.e. changing the voice without distorting the pitch. Basically make me sound like you for example. Don't worry, not trying to make deep fakes of Donald Trump or something stupid. I need to anonymize participants for my podcast so they can come forward in "peace".

it seems like you forgot to mansion that you didn't only sort the effects by name but rather grouped by category, in minute 1:41 they are sorted by name but in minute 1:53 they are grouped by category !
